Very pretty concept, sure, and it would probably look neat if it were built. But considering how many construction projects are literally collapsing in the Superior Chinese Future, including walls that are literally filled with garbage, I'm gonna continue to hedge my bets with the Memphis Pyramid. Lord knows I wouldn't want to be on top of that thing if it started keeling over.

You're probably right, but it raises the question of whether or not these people actually understood what they critiqued, and why the dictatorship they deigned to cover were oppressive and destructive in the first place.
It's kind of like when Null points out that many of the so-called libertarians on the Internet mainly seem to be interested in preserving their right to coom to japanese loli and furry porn. This is the height of their moral framework, and what they strive to achieve for society. In the same vein people like Applebaum seems to be solely interested in preserving the Laissez-faire free market (I suspect she doesn't have any misgivings to global monopolies and outsourcing) and nothing else, foolishly conflating this singular objective with "libertarianism" as a whole. She even has the gall to call her former friends — many of whom have disowned her for basically being an insufferable, politically correct cunt — insane. It's completely beyond her self-opinionated proclivities that perhaps she is the one who's insane.
I also see that she tweeted a superbly stupid take on the Covid ordeal last year, where she praised China for "shipping supplies to those in need", and disparaged America for "doing nothing". When called out for it she urged her detractors to "look themselves in the mirror for being fascists acting in bad faith", or something to that nature. Is this bitch for real? How is it even possible to be so incredibly dumb? With her expertise in socialist dictatorships?

The answer is simple: no. Everything gets co-opted by people with more sinister intentions. The Cold War is no exception to this. Applebaum is not the first or the last person to do this.
Even recently with all the Wuhan lab leaks coming to light. Somebody pointed out on Twitter that the only reason this is coming out now after a year of surpressing this story is because the elites have some other use for it. Fauci and China won't stand for their crimes, but it'll probably get used to justify expanding the conflict in Syria because it is on "our" geopolitical interests to do so.

Grew up not far from Memphis, and Bobby's talking out his asshole. Pyramid started as a vanity project by the city of Memphis and then it turns out it's expensive to maintain, the wrong shape and location to host profitable venues in, and the reflective surface blinds morning commuters on the Hernando-DeSoto. Bass Pro buying it was the best possible thing to happen to both the city and the building itself. The venue now hosts an honest to god hotel and outdoor-themed activities for all, including the longest indoor zipline in North America, all because an outdoor supply retailer the size of WalMart bought the fucker.

Way back in the 60s and 70s, there was a shortage of Catholic priests, and the Church panicked. They began relaxing the standards for who could be a priest, so pedophiles saw this as an opportunity. Rather than admit that they made a mistake, they doubled down. If you got rid of every priest who was a pedophile, you'd be back at square one with the priest shortage, and the Church seems to have decided that it's better to have a few diddled kids than to "leave the flock without a shepherd," so to speak.

From what I have seen from Byuu's thread, the guy was clearly grappling with depression for decades as he was taking medications and going to therapy. He was gazing into the abyss long before anyone posted the thread. I get feeling that he would have killed himself with or without the farms because he felt that the meds and therapy weren't working for him.
Yet Bob sees himself as exempt from this rule.

This is something I'm going to put here for the benefit of anyone visiting from Twitter.
The Kiwi Farms did not kill byuu, nor did we have a hand in his death. Byuu had a 13 page long thread that was essentially dead; nobody had posted to that thread in over a month. Byuu then sent Null (Joshua Moon, the owner of this website) an email where he essentially attempted to persuade Null to delete his thread by threatening suicide. You saying that Null not complying with his demands makes him responsible for byuu's death effectively means that you're saying any organisation should take down any content it posts if one person threatens suicide.
To put into context how ridiculous that is, imagine if a Republican called up AOC's office and told her that he was going to kill himself unless she publically denounced concepts she'd always campaigned for, such as the Green New Deal and Medicare for All. You'd think that was insane, right? So why are you so willing to say that the second someone threatens suicide, KF should publically go against its ethos and denounce the concepts we've always stood for - that is, the right to free speech?
If you think that there should be limits on free speech, and that publishing someone's personal information is one of those limits, then I understand that. I'm a traditionalist Catholic, and I think that blasphemous artworks such as The Pederasty shouldn't be tolerated in society. However, I don't oppose these artworks, and then turn around and spit on a crucifix, because that would be hypocritical of me. Why, then, do you oppose KF doxing people, and then turn around and support Skai Jackson doxing teenagers for saying the phrase ”guacamole nigga penis”, or left-wing organisations doxing Republican politicians and protesting outside their houses?
The answer seems obvious to me, although that's mainly because I was once where you are. I used to claim that ”trans rights” were human rights and support the BLM movement, I used to mockingly refer to anyone with social views I didn't find politically correct as a fascist, and I used to think that KF was a den of Nazis waiting to murder everyone who wasn't a straight white man. Then I heard about the CWCki from a friend at a party, stumbled on KF, and discovered that this site wasn't the evil people made it out to be. If you look back through my posts you can see how my views have changed purely by being exposed to KF - you can find examples of me calling myself a neocon and insulting the boogeyman of ”/pol/”, if you want. This is what people fear about KF - that we allow people to think for themselves. You can call it radicalisation, if you want, but we have plenty of people on here who certainly aren't radical; @Flexo , as well as being a booze-fuelled bending unit, is also a pretty moderate Republican who supports Israel, and @Hollywood Hulk Hogan devotes a lot of time to making his opposition to Trump very clear to anyone who sees his posts.
Ask yourselves - why is it that the leaders of your movement are so set on crushing a website that allows people to speak their mind and think freely? Why is it that your leaders think it's okay for them to dox us, but not for us to dox them? If you've read this far, I honestly congratulate you - I know when I was on the other side that I was fiercely opposed to taking anything that my opponents had to say seriously, so your open-mindedness is welcome. But if you have read this far and don't want to punch me or whatever, I encourage you to hang around, and even join the Farms and give your opinion. You can defend your ideas all you want and teach us all about why you think we need socialism, but you'll have the chance to debate what you believe and see true free speech.
