Guardians of the Galaxy came out seven years ago, no one but a consoomer like Bob would immediately think of it after hearing that Cleveland’s baseball team will be known as the Guardians from 2022.
I didn't know the name change when I screencapped it (their Twitter still says "Indians"), but even if I did I still wouldn't immediately think of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Nice. My prayers were answered.

I had no idea what it meant (I assumed it was something picked to be generic and inoffensive, like Tennessee Titans) and was pleasantly surprised when a shitposter on Twitter I follow RT'd something about it. The reference is actually to the Guardians of Traffic, big-ass art deco statues in the city.

To the question of whether Lee at al were traitors, here's a simple acid test: given that they lost the war, were they hanged for treason? No? OK, shut up then. It's not like people had great compunction about executing traitors in the 19th century, and given the Confederacy's unconditional surrender, it would have been child's play to pull off. OFC, that never happened because the entire "reunification" narrative that the Union used to legitimize it's position was that the war was a tragic misunderstanding within a nation- a "brother war" if you will- and that the South was being re-integrated, not conquered. Whether or not this is bullshit is an exercise I leave to the reader, but the point is that we've gone over a century and a half without considering the Confederates to be Benedict Arnold-tier traitors, and trying to retcon them into that now is complete bullshit, especially in light of the actions of the people who were actually there.

The obsession with the confederacy is autistic and retarded. You weren’t alive, you weren’t on either side. You didn’t win or lose shit. Retards like Bob use it as a smokescreen to deflect from the violent, racist past and present of the North. It’s easy to claim slavery as a moral wrong but it’s another to address the lynchings, segregation, and general racism that still goes on in your backyard.

I admit I don't know anything about video editing and that a misbehaved program will gleefully corrupt the active file but... "Save As" is not a thing in his world?
Admittedly, I've had situations myself where I forget to save my work for a while and lose some of it due to a crash. But many programs these days do a good job about auto-saving, keeping a temporary version around in case something goes wrong that you can pick up from when you reload. Might not be the most up-to-date version of your project, but it's usually enough to where you don't lose too much work.

That said, imagine having a "job" revolving around your computer and not taking the time to invest in a UPS. What a fucking moron.

I'm not sure his technical aptitude extends to understanding what a UPS is. (But yes, they are great and everyone - especially if they have dicey power where they are - should have one.)

Smoothbrained Crayon-eater Bob thinks in exceptionally simplistic terms. "Hurr Durr the South fought the North and wanted to keep Slavery, therefore The South was filled with Traitors".

SO then, BOoooooob, does this mean that the United States was full of Traitors back in 1776 because they rebelled against the English Crown and separated from Great Britain? In which case Benedict Arnold was a "patriot" by this logic instead of an ackshually traitor. You exceptional paste-consoomer, you. Prove you're not a traitor and move to the UK or Canada and become an United Empire Loyalist.

Show me your DC collection Blob. You know dick about DC and how far it has fallen.
No one in the bubble is aware of how bad things are. About a year ago I showed a picture of TBWL to a normie co-worker, and the first words out of his mouth were, "Oh no, what have they DONE to him??" This was before the awful fusion dance with Dr. Manhattan.

I mistook it for the Joker delberately dressing as a BDSM mockery of Batman first time I saw it. Then I read the bio and looked into the whole "Dark Multiverse" thing and was like "Ah, yes." and ignored it. I don't think I've been worse off for doing that.

OK, this is new. (And cringier than ever before!)

Oh, oh no. Please tell me he doesn't call himself Dr. Batmanhattan.

EDIT: I kicked the Internet and it said:
He is referred to as "Bat-Manhattan Who Laughs" at the end of the Dark Nights: Death Metal #2 by those who worked on it.

Batman Who Laughs calls him Batmanhattan
Yep, I was definitely better off ignoring this entire Dark Multiverse premise in its entirety.

My opinions on Blobby being a full blown moron especially on Historical events aside.

The colonists were traitors well they started the war as traitors and thanks to victory ended it as Patriots. But yeah they were definitely traitors and it made their decision more awe inspiring because they were facing off the biggest Empire on Earth knowing loss meant hanging and still did it. That takes balls IMO.

& even though I do consider the CSA Soldiers traitors to the Union. There is a argument to be made the South had more rights to succeed than the Colonists did in 1776.

As for Arnold I kind of feel bad for the guy he was a traitor but it was because he was constantly fucked over by others some even became Patriot Legends like Ethan Allen. Truth if Arnold had died at Saratoga he would be remembered as one of the Great American War Heroes of the Revolutionary War.

Don't quote the rules back to the U.S.; it just makes us mad. Ho Chi Minh went directly to Woodrow Wilson to try and obtain independence using Jeffersonian rhetoric.

I would've welcomed the departure of the south.... If not for certain elements in the CSA wanting to establish a slave empire around the Caribbean, as well as promoting Western expansion. If those voices had prevailed, we would have come to blows soon enough.

The irony in SJWs pulling down Confederate statues is that Robert E. Lee himself wanted no memorials made glorifying the Confederacy. He wanted the country to reunite peacefully. The statues were mainly put up by organizations that were trying to paint the image of the Confederacy as a romantic, noble cause. And now they're being torn down by activists who think their "resistance to racism" is a romantic, noble cause. The root cause behind these behaviors is and was the same: to perform actions that push an ideology and establish moral authority. 150 years ago Democrats were screeching that every black man was a rapist just itching to rape white women and now they're screeching that every white man is a Hitler just itching to throw every not-white man into a concentration camp. I guess what I'm saying is that the wrong people died in the US Civil War. The next war we have, we should send all of the screechers and activists to the front line and keep all of the volunteer and career soldiers at home.

Modern capeshit has had so many crossovers that it has become more inbred than all the Habsburgs and Targaryens put together.

Bob fails to realise that history is invariably written by the victors, and that if the Rebels had won at Gettysburg and the Chipmans had become Southern hillbillies instead of New England hillbillies, he'd be sat on whatever the Confederate version of Twitter is calling Southern unionists traitors, defending slavery while being unable to buy any "young Negro manservants" to clean out his Charlottesville basement apartment, and lusting after Adelaide O'Higgins-Custer, that purty Southern belle who talks so much about the need to redistribute cotton plantations.

You aren't wrong, but modern takes on the US Civil War are less about "winners writing history", and just disingenuous takes so that America is racist no matter what.
>the Confederacy was evil and racist and fought 100% for slavery and racism
>well also the Union is evil and racist and have slaves so they are bad too
>but using any Confederate iconography means you're a racist because the Confederacy was racist
>anyways time to pull down that statue of Ulysses S. Grant because he was also a racist

As far as Bob goes, any discussion of the Confederacy is purely "Confederacy = bad, Confederacy = Mayo Ghouls, Mayo Ghouls = Bad. Genocide against the Mayo Ghouls = Good."
One could try to point out to master historian Bob that much of states which supplied Union forces are what he considers "heartland", especially those in the "obsolete" Midwest and the "fading into history" mining regions of West Virginia, Pennsylvania & Upstate New York; but Bob being Bob either wouldn't understand or somehow equate modern northern rural/rustbelt Mayo Ghouls with racist trailer trash and therefore worthy of death camps.
