Robin hood gets live action remake - The furry magnum opus for a new generation

I’m guessing they’re going to go The Lion King route with this one. Although, if they put all the actors in fur suits, it would make it more interesting. If Disney is trying to get in on the furrybux, they may as well go all the way.

Actors in fur suits would be the only way I'd be interested in watching this.

I don't want to see more "uncanny valley" anthropomorphized human animal CGI hybrids as seen in Cats (2019), I want cheesy but awesome full-blown furry suits of the sort people wear at conventions.

Then Just look up fursuits on pornhub, there's...shockingly a lot of that on there. Itd probably be less horrifying than anything Disney throws money at to bring to the screen.

Not going to lie, a movie done entirely with the actors in fursuits would be hilarious to watch in and of itself, even if it's only in a trainwreck sort of way.

That concept could make for a great absurdist comedy, provided the movie is written well and is actually clever and funny.

Disney is such shit these days.

What are they going to do when they run out of old movies to remake? It's the Hollywood equivalent of strip mining.

It's not anything new either, Hollywood has been cashing in on past success for so long that one day they'll run out of things to remake and reboot and they'll be shit out of luck because they've trained audiences to ignore anything that's new.

Remake the remakes.

Also, who the fuck wants a robin hood remake except maybe a couple of autists on deviantart?

Nobody wants whatever abomination Disney is about to perpetrate on its own ancient and revered IP. Also 3DPD, never.

Remake the remakes.

There's going to come a point in which there will be a strong "been there, done that" factor and people will simply stop going to remakes of remakes.

Like Terminator: Dark Fate, the fact that the movie was woke probably wasn't the main reason it bombed, it bombed probably because it had been 4 years since the last Terminator reboot and people are just sick of that franchise, the wokness was just the cherry on top of the shit sundae to ensure people didn't want to see it.

And especially in a post pandemic world where people will be feeling like they're putting their lives at stake to go to the theater.

It's sad to say this but movie theaters dying may be the best thing for movies as an artform, because people will take more of a chance at home, but people can't be arsed to go the theaters anymore if they don't already know what something is and even that won't last forever.

I mean I loved the movie, but live action takes away it's charm.

If it had to be done: the best route would be puppetry mixed with animatronix and CGI....

It's going to be photorealistic motion capture just like the OG Sonic design before they scrapped it. You're going to get background lore of the 8 Royal Animal Houses and how they rule the surrounding land and a bunch of world building shit that nobody cares about. You're going to get some real High Fantasy Politicking with prince John doing his best Lannister impersonation in a council meeting. Also a bunch of OC donut steel women will be interjected into the plot because Robin Hood will be portrayed as an incompetent without their help. Maid Marion will be recast into stereotypical tuff lady who has to hide her toughness. Friar Tuck will be gay and they'll throw in religion and how intolerant it is because it hates the gays for no reason at all. There will be two chinese self inserts who will help out at critical moments and just pop out of nowhere. No songs will be sung. Little John will also probably be gay as well or be recast as a LBGTQ female. Once prince John is defeated his Kingdom is now ruled by good and pure female ruler #45567594. There's also going to be a fuckton of homosexual teases just like how they portrayed Picard and Data on Star trek Picard.

It's gonna bomb. The original film isn't that good and the fandom barely talks about it compared to the princess films. I don't even think it's that well remembered in normal circles compared to other Disney films.

So no princess and no hard-on nostalgic value for normies = bomb

Well this was inevitable. I was wondering when this would happen. Yep the original spawned many a fur fag, so I hope to christ this one just sucks badly and gets memory holed like Beauty and the Beast. Or Cats. If it sounds like what it sounds like, and it doesnt have any A-list team members, it's probably going to suck. Probably not Cats level bad because this one isnt a pretentious musical production.

The original movie was a surprisingly charming product despite it cutting corners like crazy. Fuck, Little John is just brown Baloo in a hat. Same voice actor and everything. Animation re-used all over. Snow white and Hunchback it wasnt. Plus I suspect that characters like Prince John are going to lose their charm and Maid Marian is going to be a stronk vixen who dont need no tod.

It looks like the House of the Sue Happy Mouse is going to remake all if their old movies, or are planning to, I'm honestly more anxious about how their going to fuck up The Sword in the Stone.
