It's ridiculous how backwards Roblox admins' priorities are when they IP ban people who criticize them but let known child predators collect tens of thousands of dollars off of their website.

They're not punishing a pedo because he's making them money, but this is some other company's IP here (SEGA). What happened to Roblox wiping that shit out like they said they were going to do? Is this just because SEGA never does anything about fan content? They could potentially lose a lot more than they gained if they let someone profit off of the wrong company's IP. They got pretty close to that with Pokemon.

Just give it a few more years. All it takes is someone publicity and ripping off the wrong brand.

To be honest I don't know if that will happen at this point. I don't know if it's true but some devs making a lot of profit from games based on existing IPs have claimed to have gotten the rights to do so from the rights holders. I could see this being true, since instead of having to pay for a game to be developed, companies could just wait for some fan to start making a game on a platform like Roblox, then just go in with a contract and reap the rewards. Companies have worked directly with Roblox to promote movies, events, shows, so this would just be the next step.

Thanks. I've been on Roblox since 2008 and I know literally everything there is to know about the platform by now. My accounts aren't being nuked on the spot like they were in 2014/15 but I still get deleted every now and then. Some developers have even been nice enough to restore my data in their games every time it happens.

Remember Julius Cole and Jared Valdez?

Remember Julius Cole and Jared Valdez?
Julius Cole still posts YouTube videos and they're all really bad. He's probably more deserving of a thread on here than anyone else in the Roblox community simply because there's a mountain of content he's created on himself. The last time I saw Jared Valdez he went full homo and was posting videos of himself kissing dudes on Instagram. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Most likely this. Someone even hand delivered a letter to SEGA HQ in Japan detailing how a child predator was using their brand to profit thousands of dollars and they still haven't done anything about it. If only he had a Nintendo fan game instead.
WTF? They really don't see this as damaging to their brand in any way?

Edit: Is there a source on this by the way? Was this actually relating to the Roblox game or some other mess?

Was it Jared or Julius who admitted openly that he stole his mom's credit card just to buy Robux?

Interesting to see you here, Ruben, I'm a big fan. Jared is in a weird place right now. (his channel) He caught Covid last year and has been uploading to Youtube. He's some weird combination of neo-lib activist and Robloxtuber now. He's been trying to milk his infamy to become a figure on modern Roblox with its massive surge of popularity. A mix of him trying to signal boost his channel by recounting his Roblox shit from the old days and start game development. His game dev group gimmick is improved versions of the games he copied, like Dead Rising. It hasn't gone very far though because Roblox keeps shutting them down because of association with him. So I also have no idea if he's still even trying on that front.

Also, anyone else notice the big rise of shitty map-painter games? Like, I know history and shit like HOI 4 are on the rise so it's only natural their are awful Roblox copies. But, it baffles because they're all so abundant despite all being the same game with almost no differences. Very few systems, just paint over the world and hope no one paints over you. Impossible to roleplay or really do anything because there's nothing but the paint tool and good luck getting anything going with 10 year olds.

Some of the worst games on Roblox are the endless array of identical RP games or tycoons that become increasingly pay to win as the months pass. But these have been around for ages and will continue to be a mainstay. The real issue with the platform is young devs getting lucky and getting big, then using their newfound 'power' to push other devs to the ground. Apparently the pokemon games like Brick Bronze weren't even taken down because Nintendo noticed them themselves, but because the developer of Mad City actually emailed Roblox directly with a list of all the major pokemon games, and Roblox nuked them because they didn't want to deal with Nintendo. He then bragged about this on Twitter. I assume this level of entitlement also applies to a lot of other devs. The whole deal with 'hiring' children to be your creative force on a platform is that when they get lucky, they'll get richer than most people have ever been and at such a young age that has to be like being a child star in hollywood, minus the molestation.

He still won't entirely admit that all he did in the "old days" was copy and paste games.

Hasn't the front page been mostly shitty tycoons, "adopt and raise a baby" maps, and GMod game ripoffs for the past seven years now?

Do you have a link to that? That's actually news to me. I was wondering what happened to Mad City. I always liked it better than Jailbreak.

Actually I misheard this in a video, but he actually did directly email NINTENDO to the existence of several popular Pokemon games which set the ball in motion in getting rid of Brick Bronze. I honestly wonder how long it would have taken Nintendo to find this out otherwise, since they're usually pretty aggressive in getting this kind of stuff taken down, but Tay still sped this process up. Seeing as he specifically cites "some of these games are earning 10k monthly" it totally seems like a move made out of jealously. That and he decided bragging about it on Twitter was a good idea. It apparently spawned the hashtag '#blametaymaster' when Bronze was actually taken down.

I didn't join Roblox as early as some of the other posters (amazing to see Ruben here), but I followed the development of Phantom Forces from before its initial release back when it was named Call of Robloxia 5. A lot of sperging occurs in the one community but its relatively contained, the biggest accusations were that the lead developer litozinnamon not paying the co-developers/contractors that update his game and cowboy moderators in the discord accused of pedophilia. It was interesting though to watch the gossip while the co-owner shaylan007 tried to do damage control, after this video was posted.

There's also a big exploiting scene going on in the Roblox underworld, which plagued the game harshly around from 2014-2016 back when hacks were handed out free from v3rmillion.net - there was a lot of drama surrounding different groups sabotaging each other to sell the highest quality. I distinctly remember some members that were scamming customers with RATs and being repeatedly kicked from the website. There's quite a few interesting reads on their forums of long time exploiters since at one point they were able to obtain the Roblox client source code.

Oh my god, Roblox. I have fond memories of dicking around on this game back in 2010, when things were a bit more lax. What I can notably remember is that time that JaredValdez attempted to kickstart his very own "Roblox social media platform", which eventually caught the attention of Roblox itself, leading to its inevitable shutdown. The platform in question was a refuge of sorts for some of the edgier members of the Roblox community, aside from Ironnoob Forums. What is surprising is that it seems that he has mellowed out over the years.

Oh, yeah. Faceblox or whatever it was called

Politisperg News involving Roblox, a member of a Ro-Nation group known as nUSA had one of it's members infiltrate the White House Press Corps. This isn't satire, this is an actual article from politico. Btw, he wasn't just a rank & file but rather a high ranking member of nUSA.
