At least media-wise, most of the depictions of robot wife is the emotional aspect rather than sex. Otherwise it's just a glorified real doll. It's the meme of "men wanting only want one thing and it's disgusting" with the bottom panel being someone welcoming them back home.
It is if you're in the "dating scene", unfortunately. If you just get to know a girl and ask her out the old fashioned way then unless her mind is fried by feminism (high likelihood, sadly) then you have a chance of it not being that way.
I remember an anime last year about a guy who married a robot. It was supposed to be cute and I guess it kinda was, but it was also pathetic (intentionally, I presume). It was definitely leaning more towards the emotional side.
