@UnclePhil,
Yes, but do you really think the autists following identity politics care? They treat fiction like it's real and think that "representation" in a story needs to happen otherwise it's shit. They don't care about the quality of the work.
More fat slug monsters trying to kill you.The Star Wars universe would be perfect to live in, less hyper sensitive crybabies.
What's Star Wars?
Exactly, diversity for the sake of diversity itself doesn't lend itself well to the integrity of the creative medium. Writers should have free reign to tell the story they want to tell without any pathetic air transparent pandering to demographics (who probably won't even see the film anyway) forced upon them because the execs want the film to market better.Shows DO exist where a diverse cast doesn't equal pandering, the problem here is that everybody is demanding that certain aspects of the characters should be "this race, that gender" and because Hollywood is so afraid that that won't get their hands into wallets it's become the norm to have "politically correct" films.
Star Trek is a way better fandom imo.
Well shit I forgot about this. it's still a better fandom though.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ellen-ladowsky/pedophilia-and-star-trek_b_5857.html
"Star Trek paraphernalia has so routinely been found at the homes of the pedophiles they’ve arrested that it has become a gruesome joke in the squad room. (On the wall, there is a Star Trek poster with the detectives’ faces replacing those of the crew members). This does not mean that watching Star Trek makes you a pedophile. It does mean that if you’re a pedophile, odds are you’ve watched a lot of Star Trek."
I think Star Trek was also first for sending people death threats for making creative decisions they don't like (though that's easy when you're the first fandom in general) but I still like them better than the Star Wars fandom.Well shit I forgot about this. it's still a better fandom though.
Main series - WWII in spaceIt's like a conflict, but in space.
