I'm guessing the CGI isn't atrocious as it was for Patrick Stewart in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
 
My dad, who is a massive Rush Limbaugh and Star Trek nerd ended up going to see it with my mom and godparents lastnight since they had free tickets. He actually loved it, said it was the best action sci fi they've made in decades. Kinda surprised, but cool

Watched it myself. I liked it, first two acts were a bit mellow-dramatic but the third act was great. The ending was pretty well done and it gave me my favorite thing in Star Wars, X-Wings blowing shit up.

All in all it kinda felt like Where Eagles Dare or Guns of Navarone in pacing and direction, which is a good place to crib story telling from
