To be fair, it's just Sturgeon's Law at work again. RPG Maker gets a bad reputation because a lot of the games made are like shovelware. That's what happens when people want to make games but know little about game design.

How does that have to do with what I said good sir? I was just saying it doesn't appeal to me (though I'm not too big on the RPG or horror survival genres anyways, so I guess I'm not qualified to say shit about it)."I don't understand what the appeal of pens are, because I've seen people draw terrible stuff with pens so that must be all you can do with pens."
You have a strange mind.
No, but I never said that did I? I just meant that I don't care if there's good or bad games made on there. So you've seen every single RPG Maker game and think they all suck?

But I've also tried out the program and couldn't get the hang of it.
Uh, so, you just... dislike the program in general? You weren't exactly specific. No, but I never said that did I? I just meant that I don't care if there's good or bad games made on there.

Actually, I think I should have elaborated, and this will sound pretty hypocritical, but I just find it a bit overrated. I mean I'm more than willing to try it if you guys want me to (and form more of an opinion from there). It's just that it doesn't deserve all of the praise (or hatred) it's deserved.I'm just saying, your initial post was pretty vague as to why you don't like RPG Maker. If you're so adamant to the idea of not liking it, fine.
For many reasons, some understandable (not explaining my opinion well enough, bias against the games made on it, which really only levels out to just plain indifference, really). Some not so much (such as suspecting/assuming I hate it because it was too hard to learn. Not really, it just boiled down to indifference, yet again. I'm more than willing to try again, but not at the moment). What's the big deal? He just doesn't like the program, why is everyone ganging up on him?
Actually this sounds really neat.I might start it up again over the summer. Just a warning though, it'll be nothing but a clone of Maple's CWC Adult Chronicles.
Oh man. I love OFF, though I usually take it to the grave because that game has a horrible fanbase.I've recently watched an entire playthrough of the RPG adventure game OFF. The rampant surrealism and symbolism kind of makes my head hurt, but I absolutely laaaahve weird indie video games like this. Plus the battle music makes me want to dance to the extreme!

One game that I think fans of OFF and YN will like is Middens. It's a gorgeous, extremely surreal artgame, like OFF on steroids with better graphics and music by far. Although the story isn't as definite, it gets similarly disturbing towards the end.
John Clowder (the creator of these games) is an extremely intelligent but very (like wizardchan-tier, though he doesn't hate women) socially isolated individual. I almost feel bad for him because his lifestyle is so alt, but he seems to be happy so it's okay.
God, I love OFF's soundtrack so muuuuch ;_; It actually was one of the things that inspired me to start writing music again. Conrad Coldwood is bae.I've been meaning to check out other indie games such as Middens and Space Funeral, though I'm still on my OFF kick. I even listen to the OFF soundtrack to help me concentrate on school work! Are there any other indie games that you recommend?
LISA is another one I've heard a lot of great things about.
