They do it by running games online via Roll20 and other VTTs.
How is that any different than what any other gaming forum does? This is as bad as the "Aethists of Facebook" convention that was also online. Are these women that ugly that they don't want to be seen in public? Or do they know that a woman only gaming convention would die a quick death at even a public conference hall?
Are they going to do anything with Roll20 at this years Roll20Con and help out charity funds for CyberSmile since people don't know how how to step away from the computer?

Recent message sent to people on a RPG Meetup group.
Hello,
This group has a certain problem being caused by a very small few of our members, but something that has now come to a head as they have been advised about the group's policies and they choose to disregard them. Is this a not wanting to take orders from a female younger than them case? I am not sure.
The policy is simple, anyone is free to run a game through this group - no obligations of an financial or remunerative kind, but if you want to post up an event - KINDLY - (as we have asked many times now) advise us first by direct email or meetup messaging. DO NOT try to get around us by using someone elses comment area for their event.
If you want to advertise a game kindly send us a request - simply follow the procedure of informing us to put up your advert, if you DO NOT want to do this then kindly leave this group AND go PAY for your own group and then you can do what you like.
We have this policy in place so that we can vete the event beforehand, and NOT have people abuse those who attend with fees and charges or obligations or other things (see my personal experiences under example #1), AND both comply with Meetup's own policies that organizers are obliged to comply with AND help us to provide a safe environment for all involved.
Previously, I have sent out kind and courteous emails to all outlining this policy on several occasions since I took over as the primary organizer of this group a few months ago. Please respect it, it is for everyone's good.
The policy is - let us know first if you want to post up a game event through this group, you DO NOT have free reign over the organizers rights and responsibilities, you are not the one paying for the group AND NOT the one responsible if something goes wrong. Read meetup's policies regarding organizers and the events they allow to happen under their groups. This is not something to stick your head in the sand either over.
Since another one of these things occurred again this afternoon by one of these individuals, I say to that individual and (the 2 others who do the same) DO NOT try and do an end run around the organizers by using some other persons event's comment area to post up an advertisement for your own thing because you do not want to follow the policies of the group.
I will provide two examples to outline why we are enforcing the few policies we do have in place. The examples come from my own personal experiences from when I first arrived in Montreal and wanted to play games without being an organizer of a group. Guys will probably not be able to relate to the first example BUT I am certain the females will surely be able to understand it and sympathize.
Example #1, I rsvp'ed and attended an event at some older guy's apartment in the middle of the evening (8PM to 11PM was the event time) in a secluded section of the city. Since no one else attend that had rsvp'ed, the creep thought that since I was alone and female this was a different kind of game session.
Example #2, I rsvp'ed to an event, and when I showed up it was being held in a game store, turns out the creep running the game was actually affiliated (or one of the owners, I am not sure) with the store, and as the event progressed we were impressed (attempts to strong arm those of us in attendance) to buy things in the store. That was unfair and if this was the reason for the game being held there than it should have been posted up as something required.
The reason for these two examples is simple, we (myself and the other organizers) want to and intend to (if you know the plans for the fall - the word is "clubhouse
So, in closing to those people who try to advertise without giving us the kind foreknowledge we have asked for, refrain in future."
All I'm reading is "I only want you setting up games I want you to play in"
TL: DR, Sounds like a classic case of shit that never happened and let me control your groups so you do what I want.
