The Schrodinger's Cat of what a Monty directed RWBY could've been is interesting. Would it have been good, bad, mediocre, a quality rollercoaster?
Whatever Monty did have planned is irrelevant now because the version of the show we did get is hot garbage, so people speculate, "What if it was actually good?"
The idealized version of what could've been exists in the minds of a lot of passionate fans.
That translates to a lot of analysis videos, fanfiction, and fan projects trying to do justice by these concepts for an anime stylized late 2000's early 2010's "Rule of Cool" science fantasy setting.
I think that's why it is still talked about even now. The ever powerful question of "What if?"
