Lol. Mediocrity is the death of any artistic medium. As a writer deeply involved in the scene, I see excellent, highly adept works ignored constantly in favor of talentless hacks that can barely string a sentence together with reasonable grammar, let alone use their sentences and paragraphs to sing.
And that is exactly the reason why I am a hobbyist and prefer it to stay that way rather than seek to be a professional, it's so much better and way more beneficial to find a niche audience via internet rather than wasting money on getting the credentials and applying to work for an entertainment company because let's face it, it's pretty much self-inflicted career sabotage at this point.

This is nothing new. There is no accounting for the preferences of the public. And really, when art is made for the public, and they choose something relatively unskilled, who I am I to tell them their wrong? The public likes the work, and by that standard, any art can be good art if you are judging it on the public appeal
That's the lesson that most artists of every walk, fail or take so long to learn, chasing the ever drifting eye of the public in hopes of getting famous was, and always will be a fools errand. As I said it in the above reply; it's much better for anyone seeking a creative profession to cater to a niche or to do it because you like doing it.

When I explain masculine vs feminine rhyme to people I use It's My Turn's "Don't be foolish/Give up your wish." This should be basic stuff, how does that not sound wrong in your head?
Speaking as a sound pleb, it doesn't rhyme at all.

The current trend in writing seems to be self-publishing.

Everyone knows it in writing. As for who has come to accept it? That's a trickier question.

I'd say it's a matter of how much you wanna put into it. Some may just go for publishing just for something to give to family and friends or just to get the feeling that a story they worked on got picked up and and be bought by other people, the fact it was completed and published is its own reward. Others...want all the marbles and glory and moolah.

Seems like pretty soon it'll be the only form of publishing.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with wanting to push yourself and get something put out there. If you do something well enough, then making money off of it is the next logical step. It's using monetary gain as your primary motivation for creating art that will almost always lead to your downfall.

Another one…

Like I said before, It's pretty much the lesson most artists of every walk fail or take long to learn.

Who is this CJ guy? I'm too lazy to actually look him up.
Twitter retard that used to have good points in his RWBY tweets but shat the bed when he got into unnecessary drama and FRWBY.

@Rhymes 19 Speaking of the character designers, MMD controversy and fashion choice aside, how are Mupa and MonarchBlueLady as people? Did you like them? Were they friendly?

Guy never backs down from a fight. Ever.

Though if he were to find out ... I'd think after much angst, he'd still have a more moral core and swear by his principles. He'd only angst about not being able to put out his story on time, or find a way to present it in a wordy way.

If I read previous post correctly and thoroughly, they pretty much jumped on Raymond's dick and turned on her the moment she got kicked out of the server. She posted the screenshots too if you need them.

I might look into this said story sometime, well assuming he's not talking about FRWBY.

He's not immune to sperging. Look up his initial Worldbuilding sheet for RWBY0 on Fanfiction.net.

Mupa was friendly with me, even supportive of me during the initial tension with Raymond. Then, the second I was kicked, she never spoke to me again. Monarch I never spoke much to, all I know is that she posts multiple tweets a day about defending lolis, which, if I must be honest, is a bit too often for me to not have suspicions.

Yep. Can't lose out on the opportunity to make subpar character designs.

At this point I'm no longer surprised if a couple of the people working on FRWBY are on a registered sex offender list somewhere. Well then, let's just hope they don't do anything sexually moronic or that there are no glowies lurking this thread.

That may be true, but can they beat the sex-pest per capita of the Fallout the Frontier mod team?

Which designs do you think were barely acceptable, as opposed to blase or even downright awful?

Jesus fuck, I almost forgotten about that clusterfuck of a mod team. It's even more horrifying when you find out that the pedophile they scapegoated objected in having the NPC America be underaged, while the other people were A-OK with the player having the choice to outright fucking GROOM her.

That’s what most of the SH Twitter is these days: designs of Salem.
I find their obsession with Anorexia Salem to be quite disturbing.

They're very proud of drawing a long woman with ribs

I don't think Salem is awful, just not anything special. Jaune is also fine. Vernal's design is actually good, just not how she was implemented. Soap opera sadness-bait isn't a good look imo.
