I won't reveal my sources but he appears less "meek and humble" and more genuinely autistic. He seems to hide a lot from his team and his Discord is effectively dead to the point where you'll see a couple dozen posts from all users combined within something like a six month period.
That makes the team's claims of having all sorts of fun behind the scenes feel so insincere. I feel like these projects always have that, where they all say they're having such a party making the product, with nothing to show for it. I mean, just look at that stream. All they have is (supposed, behind the scenes) character dumps and worldbuilding. I'm sure they spent hours designing those kingdom logos.

I mean, all we have to compare to in terms of communities is Celtic Phoenix, which was able to get things done but get trashed ITT, and Jerry Freeman, which fell into anarchy almost immediately after the project was announced.

And so far, he doesn't have any skeletons in his closet unlike Rhymes being shafted by Raymond.
Rhymes also got shafted by SYTO's team. According to her nothing really happened and when she started to criticise SYTO's songwriting (really fucking tryhard) she got radio silence for a month and then she got booted because she "didn't fit in" despite there being nothing to actually fit into. Allegedly. It's nothing more than vague drama rather than the Celtic weirdness but it's what it is.

Jerry's problem was that he had zero control over that server, just let anybody in and they could post anything and had no command structure whatsoever. Then one of his mods went on a powertrip and basically tried to hijack the server, if you watch his follow up streams where him and the other retards go through the RWBY: Alt documents and talk about shit they go a little more in depth about what an absolute shotshow that whole project was.

Celtic is shit as a director and doesn't have much control over his team but he at least has some ability to wrangle his tards.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that one, actually. Earlier, I saw a reddit post where he explained Hazel's motivations as being a former guard/soldier of Ozpin, who was "betrayed", after being in so many battles. Didn't catch on with me, because of all the detail is explained so weirdly to me.

How much discussion do you think we could have with this captain at the helm? 1650595907320.png

I genuinely don't remember much outside of seeing the 18-year-old playing video games while sitting alone or with the 16-year-old in VC. The only time I saw the server get really active is when I questioned Dazco. It is mostly vague and uninteresting drama, though. Clash of personalities.

Here's a sample of SYTO's work in progress
It took a LOT to try and salvage his ideas while also not making it sound like a 13-year-old wrote it. It seemed he got mad when I changed the lyrics entirely. It was a fun challenge.

The rest, uncommentated and added later:
Verse 2

Seeking you in every shadow
(Ruby-Yang) One heart is lost, another's broken

[...]
(Blake-Weiss)Torn apart by blood, it's what I deserve

All I wanted is a family
(Blake-Ruby) All I want is peace, is that so brazen/hopeless?

[...]
(Weiss-Yang) Want to stab/burn your heart, like how you stabbed mine
Pre-Chorus
Thus kindly I scatter
These flowers from my grave
Chorus 2

And I will cherish
And I will carry on
And I will keep moving forward, keep singing your song

And when I wake up
(Weiss-Yang) I know that I won't see you
But these pieces so precious have filled us and found us unbroken
Bridge
Red like roses
[...]
Snow white lilies
[...]
Deadly nightshade
Calls me from shadows

Chrysanthemum burns
My soul, my soul into the morrow
Chorus Final

And I will cherish
And I will carry on
And I will keep moving forward, keep singing your song

And when I wake up
I know that I won't see you
But these pieces so precious have filled us and held us unbroken
I won't lie, it was fun. I really enjoy this kind of analysis-fixing thing.

SYTO isn't a morally off person in any regard, just arrogant and in his own head. He really does seem to think he's telling some magical tale. A part of me actually wants him to succeed and put something out, let him have his fun.
Sometimes you just can't win.
I consider it a win in the end by being removed from the RWBY fandom.

How hard is it to only discuss spoiler things with just the people who need to know it? If anything, it also comes with knowing who leaked shit if things DO go public when you don’t want them to.

Also, how hard is it to talk about “this person died. Someone close to them didn’t take it very well”?

I think I've said it before, but my favorite genre of writer will always be "please listen to this complex and mature tale" and then it's something that's been covered in Pokemon.

Pokémon huh? How often does this shit happen? I’ve never really been TOO into the games or the anime.
The games don't get too terribly deep or complex, and I haven't watched the anime since the Johto league back in the very early 2000's, but the manga actually can get pretty dark. Character deaths, serious mortal peril, political and societal friction between disparate factions, it has it all depending on which arc you're reading and some of it can get mildly graphic.

Yes actually, quite a bit of it. You'd have to ask someone who reads it more regularly then I do, I've only read like three of the arcs but I have some second hand knowledge of some of the other arcs. Most of them are available on Mangareader.

It's not too bad. The point is that these kinds of writers think they're doing something profound, mature and high-skill when a children's franchise about monster fights has done it too. Including the manga, discussions of abusive parents, prolonged grief, and the ignorance of average people come up. Gen VI got really wild. Pokemon isn't doing anything profound by any means, but since it took the time to actually think about the aformentioned themes, it's ahead of whatever any RWBY rewrite has done. Those just add edge for the sake of looking better, because dark is artsy. The most thought-provoking thing Pokemon has done, in terms of how my then-17-year-old mind reacted to it, was showing how an abused runaway was fine with joining the evil team because it gave her a sense of security she'd never had before. She says that defeating the team wouldn't actually change much anyway, because her misery was inflicted by average people turning a blind eye. I'd consider that mature, because it took a level of moral reality into account.

Maturity isn't just about swearing and violence, but with enough shonen poisoning, I can see why someone would think that. It's like how the first seasons of Attack on Titan were standard violent shonen schlock, and it really didn't hit a level of post-shonen maturity until they really got into Eren's destructive obsessions and reality of the setting, then kinda fell back into immaturity with its ending arc when it became about endless violence again.

Oh yeah, I forgot there’s a manga. Have they done any of the things RWBY has tried to cover?
It hasn't tried a racism or a The Big Wealth Gap plot, thankfully.

Who still gives a shit? And who’s actually confident it’ll actually still be released? https://youtube.com/watch?v=-hm0NBPJ5F8
They're going to have to do something with it, they spent money on it and be damned if it's going to be shelved.

Then again, who knows, Warner might have taken one look at it and threw it out. That's why we haven't heard anything about Season 9 this past year or so.

Twiin's entire channel lives and dies on RWBY, none of her other stuff gets any traction. She, and other channels like hers, probably care a lot.

Honestly i doubt Warner has much of anything to do with RT, at least not directly. From what I recall reading RT is actually part of a Warner subsidiary called Otter Media or something like that, it's highly unlikely a project as small and cheap as RWBY would go that far up the chain. I think it's more that RT is in the shitter right now and probably doesn't have enough office space pr talent pool for a studio since they're being forced to rent out progressively smaller and smaller buildings and get rid of more and more (talented) people as time goes on. I stand by my call that V9 is not ever going to release. If it does release it'll probably be one of those "this is what we had done and we've decided to release it for you the fans" things.

Let’s just hope RT and CRWBY have the chance to display that amount of decency to give closure. And if they don’t, they gave the rewriters like Celtic and SYTO the green light to go crazy.

I just don't know, it's also fully possible that V9 wasn't supposed to be the ending and then they were told "too bad it's the last season you're getting".

Honestly, I think that’s a mercy kill at this point. And then I can write everything after v3 as some kind of Ruby having a dream or being in a coma ending.
