Two episodes for the price of one. Let’s see how this plays out:

-The episode starts with Cinder falling and going through caverns before falling into a river. As she crawls ashore, her Grimm arm sprouts teeth and bites into her flesh, and her chest would fills with black liquid and solidifies, before she blacks out from the pain.

-The scene goes to a burning building stared at by a teenaged Cinder. Tyrian looks at Cinder and questions if Cinder killed everyone inside (and if she enjoyed it) before knocking her out and carrying her away.

-Adam slides down a mountain and gains access to the Argus Limited train.

-Yang goes onto the gangway connection and sees a Manticore pass by, and Yang hyperventilates as the train goes into a tunnel, and Yang sees the corridors stretch and warp into Beacon's cafeteria, and Yang sees Adam passing by without saying a word. Yang reaches and rips off a ladder before things come back to reality and her breathing is regulated.

-Roman is playing cards against Ruby, Weiss, and Jaune, and Nora and Ren are playing against someone described as a grandma. When Ruby and company leave to look for Qrow, Roman offers to play the grandma, who is shown to have a tattoo of an anchor on her arm.

-Cardin and Russell finds Blake alone in Team RWBY's cabin. Cardin mentions "things have changed" since Beacon, with Russell saying that the two wanted to say hello. When Cardin asks how Blake has been, Blake says "she's been better. It's been a rough couple of weeks" and talks about the rift between her and Yang. Cardin suggests that maybe Yang doesn't want help because of how stubborn she is and it'd hurt her pride, Blake has an epiphany. Cardin mentions taking cues from Velvet, the most empathic person he knows. When Blake points out the rabbit keychain on Cadin's mace, and he says "I'm a big fan of Pumpkin Pete's, so what?" while Russell says that Cardin's a big softie. Cardin says that falling down an elevator shaft with someone makes you sentimental, and says "it's a...long story."

-Ruby and Weiss see Qrow at a bar talking to a woman and pull him away. As they're arguing, Weiss sees Adam, who locks eye contact with Weiss, with Blake seeing Adam as well as she and Cardin poke their heads out of the cabin.

-Qrow shoves Weiss and Ruby and back and fires at Adam, telling the girls to run. Cardin shoves Blake into the cabin and tells Russell to get her to safety. Cardin presses an intruder alarm on his scroll before joining Qrow to fight Adam.

-A Manicore smashes through the ceiling of the car where Roman and Neo are. The Manticore throws Roman at a wall, pinned between said wall and the remains of a table.

-Ruby realizes that the team will have to get their weapons. Blake pulls her and Weiss and see a Grimm swarm and Weiss wonders if Adam drew all of them to the train. Adam makes his way to the roof and glares under his blindfold. Ruby leaves to get the group's weapons. Adam holds his own against Qrow, Cardin, and Russell.

-JNR looks at the situation and orders to save the civilians, while Roman asks for him and Neo to be saved from the Manticore, who's stinger is now lodged in the table trhe two are hiding behind.

-Ren rushes to the Manticore and blocks the stinger before it stabs Roman with an Aura shield made from his palms, and his fingers are able to cause the stinger to explode and the Manticore recoils. ROman says, "You bastard, I could kiss you!" while Ren just glares.

-Ren continues to batter the Manticore with his palms, and Nora has her Aura boosted by Jaune to where she can lift the Manticore through the broken window, and it turns to powder.

-Ruby gets her team's weapons and the group tells Yang what's going on. Yang freezes when she realizes she actually saw Adam in her breakdown.

-Adam knocks Russell off the train and he's picked up by a Grimm, while Cardin is knocked into a gangway, and his arm is wedged between two cars. His shoulder is crushed and his Aura is spent protecting him, rolling onto the gangway proper before he passes out.

-Qrow and Adam spar, and Qrow tackles Adam before his Moonslice can go through Team RWBY, instead hitting a mountain and triggering an avalanche, and the two men fall into the fog. Qrow uses his bird form to get back to the train.

-Cardin calls for everyone to move to the front cars for shelter from the Grimm, and Jaune tells Roman and Neo to go up to the roof to fight the Grimm since they have their weapons.

-Team RWBY struggles with their team attacks while Ruby herself has to deal with fighting while also holding JNR's weapons. Nora comes to collect her weapon, along with Ren and Jaune, who get their weapons.

-The avalanche hits the train, and Ruby shoves Nora onto the train where Jaune and Ren are, and cuts the car connection in one swing. JNR goes through a tunnel, with Jaune calling out Ruby's name as he realizes what Ruby has done.

END OF VIDEO

Celtic says FRWBY is going to go on a break to allow the artists to rest, relax, decompress, and enjoy the holidays "unlike a certain company", and the releases will come back around late January/early February.

These fucking lolcows; defending four episodes of filler and needless padding. The lengths they would go to defend Fixing RWBY Volume 5
Blake's entire arc in Menagerie was expanded and Sun kept his role as 'sidekick' to Blake. He didn't overshadow her at all.
Yang's arc had Neo to bounce off of and Neptune was a cameo. He only appeared briefly at the very end when Yang finally went to physiotherapy.
Weiss had an arc all to herself after leaving her home where she bounced off Vernal and Raven, two female characters. Shiloh was a background element, important enough only because he had a special relationship to Vernal.
Sienna gets more in the way of we see her actively working in the White Fang and with Adam where it's not just something spoken about in dialogue the moment she appears and a few minutes before she's killed off. We see her deteriorating relationship with Adam as their ideologies differ. We're shown, not told.
Ilia gets more in the way of showing her internal conflict with how the White Fang is moving and her dividing loyalties between her beliefs and where the movement is going before she meets up with Blake.
My personal “favorite” quote:
I'm sorry, what? 20-25 episodes per season is a "real world limitation" of what can be animated and put on screen? Girl, you don't know anything about what you're talking about and it's probably best if you kept your mouth shut because this is highly stupid. That shit is standard and even on the low end of the spectrum when it comes to season-long episodes. RWBY takes an entire year to get through its volumes with less than half the episode count most other cartoons with year-long productions have. These episodes aren't overly long, either. They're shorter than standard episode length. "Real world limitations" don't make me laugh. Episodes that don't have a lot of action and fight scenes are standard fare and easier to animate and allow the budget to go where it needs to, like the fight scenes. We all know that Rooster Teeth has issues paying its animators, so if that's the 'real world limitations' you're talking about, that's not a limitation on the story or the animators needing time or whatever, that's the company being garbage. Other companies can pay their animators and direct them in a way that doesn't lead to crunch and doesn't have to lay off artists because they're not bad at management. They also don't make artists work on multiple different things at once. A show that doesn't have that many episodes being produced through the entire year has no excuses. Rushing through shit because you need to have action in most of your episodes is stupid. Not properly setting anything up because you're afraid if you don't start the season off with a fight scene to entice your audience is pandering and condescending. But who knows, maybe you don't mind being treated like you're dumb as long as you get the dumb action schlock. It ultimately doesn't matter. But Raymond's Fixing is not worse because he took the time to set things up that isn't just random fighting and if you cannot comprehend that, then maybe you don't know anything about storytelling either. You certainly don't know anything about animation and don't pretend you do.
RT is fucking ass when it comes to paying its employees, but Celtic is way worse. And yet Celtic get a free pass because?

Adel has some thoughts.

All I'll say about the franchise's future is that 2023 will mark ten years since the first episode. They'll do SOMETHING. Right?

News. Finally. Thanks, Kerry.

Hello there! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season! Looking towards the New Year, 2023 can only be better...right? Well, one way to hopefully kick off a great 2023 is to give y’all some RWBY Volume 9 updates!

Right off the bat, this post isn’t about the release date quite yet, that will be coming soon. And I don’t just mean “soon”, but more like, “we’ll have more info for you in January” soon.

That being said, I do want to let everyone know that production is going really well! We’re making great progress and are really happy with how it’s coming out. Everything is still looking great for an early 2023 release! What I *did* want to talk about today is a couple of exciting announcements around some key creative roles:

First, I’m super happy to announce that Yssa Badiola, who you may know as one of our 2D Directors and Animators, or as the creator of Recorded by Arizal, or as a co-host of two different podcasts with me, is joining CRWBY as an Episodic Director for RWBY Volume 9!

Yssa has been involved in RWBY for quite some time actually, as someone who we would bounce ideas off of or get feedback from. Or like that time when she joined as a fan before Volume 3 came out and we told her everything that happened in the season and watched her crumble into a ball of emotions. Good times!

She’s already brought some amazing contributions to the show and I can’t wait for you all to see them! You can follow her more here!

Second, here’s an update on RWBY music from Jeff himself:
~~~~~
“TL;DR-Jeff is retiring and Casey is making the songs for RWBY Volume 9.
Over the last 12 to 15 years, I worked on music a lot. Like, a REAL lot. I’m glad I did and I am happy overall with the music I made alongside my partners.
In the last few years I started to realize that I wasn’t really accomplishing new things, and that I was missing out on a lot of other parts of life that I didn’t have time or energy for while working obsessively on music.
I asked myself how I would feel if I worked on RWBY Volume 9, if I busted ass for another year, put out another good album that fans enjoyed. I would feel the same as I felt after all the other releases, and that’s the problem.
I want my life to be one of change, growth and journeys. To me, that’s what creativity is all about.
I’ve been retired from music since releasing RWBY Vol 8, and for now I don’t see myself going back to it. I mean, who knows? Maybe I will, maybe I won’t? Right now, I’m not stressing over that. I’m enjoying using my time and energy and creativity in other ways.
I suppose I should spend one sentence making sure you know that there’s absolutely no negative situation between me and Rooster Teeth or anybody else. We’ve been good to each other and for each other; we’ve had an extremely successful relationship with an inordinate amount of trust on both sides.
And yes, now I get to sit in the crowd and watch Casey melt your faces!
With love and endless appreciation to you, my RWBY family,
Jeff”
~~~~~

I can’t even begin to say how much Jeff has brought to RWBY over the years. The songs have helped define what the soul of this show is from the very beginning. While we’re sad to see him go, we’re incredibly thankful and happy to continue working with Casey Lee Williams, who has also been a huge part of making the music of RWBY what it is today. She will be joined by Martin Gonzalez, who worked as a composer on Volume 8. Together, the two of them will spearhead music for Volume 9!

While this is a big change, we’re all confident that the music for RWBY will continue to compliment the emotions of the show, while overall still sounding rad as hell!

Anyways, that’s it for now! I hope everyone is having a great holiday and is looking forward to 2023 as much as I am!

It's nice to have confirmation that Jeff's music has been completely soulless since basically forever. Nothing of value was lost.
RT is fucking ass when it comes to paying its employees, but Celtic is way worse. And yet Celtic get a free pass because?
Because he gives these little sycophants a chance to feel special while he profits off of all their hard work.

Because Celtic is working with creators who are below even Z-list level and aren't smart enough or valuable enough to anyone else to be in any position to make demands.
Because he gives these little sycophants a chance to feel special while he profits off of all their hard work.
This as well, they're so sycophantic that they honestly believe that the exposure from FRWBY will pay dividends later.

Short answer: Monty dying.

Long answer: Critter has a video for that.

Watching the video: it's kind of just talking about all the shit we've talked about ITT.

Nu-ra fags deserve the rope as much as RWBY do, & I don't even watch Nu-ra to know that, I just know it by random internet interactions alone.
So let’s see what we got.

I hate this so much. Nobody looks good.

This is the only thing I could think of.

And then there's Tumblr artists who also deserve the rope, after getting their hands crushed by a meteor.
