They stopped the only viable plan to save Atlas for really no reason other than they didn't like the guy who made it, then turned around and came up with the exact same plan they just stopped for no reason, settled on some stupid magical Deus ex machina bullshit they had no reason to think would work, then dragged the remaining population of Atlas to a desert hell hole with practically no resources, and then went off to Wonderland while everyone has to deal with the fallout.

We just need to keep adding on all this information to really sell just how fucked this situation became BECAUSE of Team RWBY, not in spite of them.
Yeah, you're putting what is irking me most about V9 in words better than me.
Seriously, at this point I understand why some people are more interesting in just shipping characters and writing fanfictions. The last volume has really made it so I genuinely can't like team RWBY, (except for Weiss maybe.) I know it's kind of stupid to get so bummed out over a low-production quality American anime, but-

Hey now, let's be fair, they didn't stop the plan because they hated Ironwood... They stopped the plan because Ruby believes no one's allowed to survive unless everyone gets to survive no matter how impossible that win scenario is.

Yeah, but then they came up with the exact same plan a season later except that now everyone gets to fit on flying escape city for literally no reason. Something that Ironwood (who #didnothingwrong) apparently never considered.

The only way any of this makes sense is they simply didn't like the plan because Ironwood came up with it. We know its just bad writing of course, but in universe this is the only logic that makes any sense.

and then they ended up with a plan that resulted in several people dying anyway.

I almost forgot to mention how flat Arkos was in this fanfic. No conflict, nothing to grow or build upon. The Fall was completely averted and nothing came of it with the main characters being none the wiser. They go to watch tournament fights and then the tournament ends, bad guys are captured, nobody we are following knows or did anything to stop it...there’s simply nothing exciting about that. The main villain, Cinder, for these last three volumes is killed off by the benevolent conspiracy without ever interacting with the main cast.

And I thought Fixing RWBY was bad…

Moments before Jaune is revealed as the Rusted Knight, the girls fan-girl about the Rusted Knight being their favourite character. I know RWBY doesn't do subtlety well, but christ guys, tone it down a little.

I half expect the Volume to end with Jaune being blown by every female character to have ever been in the series, just like those weird fanfictions.

Oh, but Jaune totally isn't Miles' self-insert. No sir, he's definitely an oRiGInAl ChaRACter ™️ . Do Not Steal!

To be fair, he was originally Monty's boy, based off Joan of Arc. That is before Monty died, and since Miles is both his writer and voice actor, he made Jaune the blonde-haired blue-eyed Chad he wish he was.
