Honestly I hope rwby keeps going because it's like a retard containment chamber. It's keeping a large portion of freaks and mouthbreathers from trickling out and infesting the shit I actually like.
May rwby continue all the way to Volume 20, god knows they fucking need those seasons since this recent season was a giant fucking nothing burger. I hope every die-hard rwby fan explodes into a cloud of gore and viscera once this show is finally put out of its misery.

You forget that RWBY is almost definitely the only property keeping the company afloat. If they mercy kill it, they'll be digging their own graves.

They can't do that now. They decided to make it this huge world traveling adventure, bloated the cast, have managed to actually regress the characters instead of growing them, and have lost all talented animators.

You're assuming that RoosterTeeth is "afloat".

It almost certainly isn't - given the absolute last ditch effort V9 has been putting out at tying RWBY to a non-Rooster Teeth service (Crunchyroll). For it to be keeping the company afloat, they would have to be bringing profits inward instead of outward.

This was Warner Brothers likely wanting to get something of a return on investment for V9 - a small loss is better than a total loss even after all of the V9 nonsense (gay romance! crossovers! animator drama!) and seeing if someone else is interested in buying the IP/studio.

The studio can consider RWBY a success, but they would be smart to end it at V10 and try and create something new (and smaller scale) for Crunchyroll or whatever company absorbs them, if anyone does.

I love how the bees communicate can't bother to actually have a decent conversation about what has happened to them. I also like how both people involved are afraid to confront each other! How about how Blake has lost all semblance of a personality to become Yang's damsel in distress? So healthy and good!

They are not even the first people to try this stunt. That is trying to save a failing , and increasingly unpopular show with a last minute lesbian pairing goes back to Korrasami. And as shield from criticism from bad writing.

Are they even a good couple? I mean the show and all the characters tell us they are so great together. And they love to tell us how Blake and Yang are very close with each other. But we have hardly ever seen that.

I give them props for setting this up a few volumes back, but there’s no way this was planned from the start. Blake had a boyfriend before the series even began. And Yang was literally shown spying on the men showers because she was horny for men. Yes it was the chibi spin off. But it was still made and approved by RT.

Now they are trying to gaslight us to tell us they were always hardcore lesbians? Yeah not buying It. This was an obvious retcon to appeal to terminally online shippers.

Still I am even open to the idea that it could work. But the writers are seriously making a poor job selling it.

I can't help but notice some RWBY stuff has been appearing on my TL and it just seems like the fanbase for that show is on suicide watch right now.

Every week I see someone saying "enough about how the show is bad, let's have some fandom positivity!", they seem to be pretty much lambasting that hbomberguy video as a hitpiece.

And most recently I see the copium where someone is using a clip from Gintama to say "RWBY isn't filler because filler is only used when an anime needs to catch up with it's source material and RWBY is an original project!".

They're basically jumping onto anyone who talks shit about the show even in the nicest possible way, and then forming incredibly insular circles where they can all agree "this show is great!" while hiding away.

Probably huffing the last bit of copium before Warner decides the show isn't worth it anymore and cuts em loose (probably along with RT as a business when that happens too).

I truly wouldn't hate Bumblebee if it was well-written or if Rooster Teeth wasn't sucking the shippers's balls dry with the constant gloating about their fucking lesbians, the instant merch drop, using OnlyFans to promote it, et. cetera. Rooster Teeth and Bee shippers are simultaneously eating out of each other's hands right now.
