You know RWBY isn't doing so well when Celtic Phoenix's Fixing RWBY updates slip my mind. He's redone Volume 1 with the Sketchy Huntsmen by the way.

So, I've been thinking, Does anyone know a single accomplishment Ozpin's group did against Salem since Ozpin won the Great War? 'Cause I can't think of a single one, and given that Ozpin lost the weapons God of Light (presumably) bestowed upon humanity (Silver Eyed Warriors), I can think only of the many failures of his group
I shit you not, some RWBYtard under Vexed Viewer's review kept arguing until it was blue in the face that what happened at the end of Book 8 was a good thing. That the most perfect, can do no wrong goddesses that are Team MRYSU did everything right and that the people of whatever kingdom were gonna be a okay.

I knew it was trolling, but you would not believe how much this tool kept doubling, tripling, and quadrupling down. It was both sad and amazing, but mostly sad.

I've been gone from this thread for months, forgot it existed tbh. Good to see the show's finally fucking dead.

Feels good to be back on clear again.

I don't understand why they haven't just pulled the trigger on crowdfunding already, unless they are just trying to wait to put some distance between themselves and all the bad PR they currently have.

My guess: they probably feel they can’t reach their target. Whatever it is. There’s always the chance that they got told RWBY is no more and they’re just hiding from the reaction “RWBY is going to be left unfinished. Sorry, everyone”.

If they actually cared about the series, they'd do it anyway, and then adjust their spending based on what they received. But, no, they can't possibly not spend 35 grand per minute of animation.

They aren't executives and can't make that promise.

It's an extremely bad look for a for-profit company to have to try and crowdfund their mainline business. The #1 question is going to be "why does a 25 billion dollar company need to crowdfund?"

The last ten years of Rooster Teeth's existence has been a non-stop stream of comments saying "They can't possibly be retarded enough to do [x]!"

And then Rooster Teeth immediately demonstrates that yes, they are indeed stupid retarded enough to do [x].

If I say “they can’t possibly be retarded enough to follow my before mentioned plan”, will this trick them into successfully making Volume 10?

You can trick them into making it, but you'll never be able to trick them into having it be successful by any metric.

Is this still a big money maker tough? Save for the usual reddit suspects everyone seems to have long moved on from this.

Who is going to watch Woke wannabe anime with real anime just a click around the corner?

It was likely never a big money maker.

Anime isn't known for printing money and RWBY recently let slip they have 800% more production costs (or more) than ever other popular anime (MHA, DBS, OPM, etc). RWBY licensed stuff never "took off" either (the games reviewed poorly, the manga never got ground, no one cares about RWBY x Justice League, etc) and their merch often looks terrible and not worth buying or caring about.

There may have been a time when RWBY was profitable (when costs were lower, or when audience share/interest was high) but RoosterTeeth seemingly squandered all of it away and RWBY is a dead IP. There's a very small chance of Volume 10 - but Vol 10 isn't going to be able to tie up all the lose ends in a satisfactory manner and no way that Volume 11 happens ever.

RoosterTeeth made a lot of mistakes with VAs (the core cast having corporate titles, having main characters with scheduling conflicts, dropping Vic, etc), other projects, and even gave Monty's "wife" $250,000 after Monty died (because of the wife). They did a poor job keeping momentum and pace - Volume 9 felt like the last "real" chance to generate excitement and they decided to do a filler season and ruin the last ounce of excitement the show had.

The fans and the parent company don't think RT can produce a good show ever again and they're probably right.
