Somehow I don't think Batman was exactly what Monty had in mind when he was designing cute girls fighting monsters.

Anyway, Ruby and Yang's VA's are streaming now (in Vtuber models)

Over an hour in, and only half a thousand of watchers. For context they have 14 thousands Twitch followers and 145 thousand Twitter followers, where they also shilled this stream

Lol. Lmao even.

Vol 9 is free from March 30th:

They are also “actively taking with partners” to bring Volume 10 to “life” and says there is progress. Somewhat contradictorally, they state that they are still “looking for partners” to make it come to life. Whichever of the statements is true is anyone’s guess

Bonus FIRST content:
  • Vol 9 retrospective (they will also be answering questions from FIRST members)
  • The shitty Grimm Campaign (RWBY D&D) series that makes a mess of RWBY lore is back. They are making completely new mini arc for it with new characters. “You will have fun. That is a threat” actual words said in advertising.
  • “RWBY Volume 9 Beyond” storybook looking at key moments in Vol 9 “and even beyond”.

Translation:

When is turns out we have no "Elon Musk" in the (quickly diminishing) Rooster Teeth fanbase, we'll shit out a book to wring the last few pennies out of this series. This is actually probably the best outcome for the fans since any new series we put out at this point will somehow be worse since our budget will be even more barebones than it already is. When the ending is as shit or worse than genlock, Monty's gold-digging hole of a widow will cry about how it wasn't his "original vision", but will provide no examples of this supposedly genius vision. A large portion of the fanbase will believe her since they refuse to admit the fact Monty Oum was a decent fanfic writer on his best day. FFS our entire company was built writing a really shitty fanfic in a video game. It's really not a hard concept for these weeb faggots to grasp.
I feel like these guys are trying really hard to hide the news that they were told by higher ups that V10 isn’t happening, and that this storybook is their attempt to not leave the show unfinished.

Even in the best case scenario that someone was dumb enough to fund volume 10, which is a very slim chance, because this franchise has burned all its good will ages ago…

It still wouldn’t be enough. There are so many plot threads they have never bothered to follow trough, that they would need at least 2 seasons to give a somewhat decent ending, But preferably 3.

Dealing with the maidens alone would take a full season. Let alone the remaining relics, and Salem, and her minions, the gods , what happened to Summer, Raven and Yang’s family issues, Oscar and Ozpin merging, humanity being divided, the communication towers , Faunus racism, the Grimm, etc, etc.

Anything less than that would likely be a rushed season with a lot of unsatisfactory aspulls

Vol 10 isn't happening - it's way too expensive. That $30,000 a minute is a gigantic albatross around their necks.

You could almost realistically pay an external studio to do a full 10 seasons in their own style than and still come out cheaper than RT's Vol 10.

So you guys would accept s novel finishing the series main story or just leave it as it is?
I've been pretty vocal that the show should have been brought out behind the shed after season 5. It was very clear that when Miles and Kerry were no longer busy tard wrangling Monty, they themselves needed a tard wrangler and the man for that job was too busy embezzling to fund his shitty Gundam oc.

What is there to deal with? Everything about them was explained in Volume 4.
the remaining relics
Both of these got resolved as well pretty much. We know almost too much about the Gods, and the only relic which we don’t know how it works is the Relic of Destruction.
what happened to Summer, Raven and Yang’s family issues
Summer died in a suicide mission that is somehow related to the Ever After. And Raven and Yang’s issues aren’t super important to resolve if you are trying to wrap up the plot points. As far as the plot is concerned, whenever Yang asks for help, Raven bitches a lot but helps usually to her own severe detriment. You can largely piece things together from here yourself as a viewer.
Oscar and Ozpin merging
What is there to resolve? Oscar will be gone and only Ozpin will remain. Like always. Unless you suggest part of the wrap up would be to end Ozpin’s cycle?
Faunus racism
Unless you are suggesting a Final Solution to the Faunus question, I’m not sure how even competent authors are supposed to just solve racism

Btw, don’t take this as me shitting on you. Generally, I agree with the post you made bar these few things.
So you guys would accept s novel finishing the series main story or just leave it as it is?
It would leave an extremely sour taste in my mind, but I guess if it was written like “Roman Holiday”, I guess I’d take it over no resolution

TBH, I think that doing a total genocide would be the same issue with Salem: the stakes are so high and the end result of the villain(s) winning is so dire that you end up with any objections to stopping the threat makes someone look like an idiot (that or makes you look like a dick if you object to a plan to stop the villain if it’s not on your terms, a la Team RWBY vs Ironwood in V7 and V8).

Well the issue it’s not even about explaining things, Its not even about solving racism, I kinda expect their world to be flawed somewhat, but about giving closure to all the plotthreads they opened.

For example we don’t need more information about the maidens. The last thing we need is more exposition. One Maiden is on the side of good, but heart broken, one is evil, and one is trying to hide. And one is unaccounted for.

4 characters that you need to solve their story archs. Thats’s as much people as the 4 main leads. And one hasn’t even been introduced. That’s a lot of story we are missing.

What will happen to the maidens in the end? How will each maiden deal with their powers? What’s the deal with the unacounted maiden? How will she affect the others? What will happen to cinder’s power if she is killed? Will Raven redeem herself and start fighting against Salem directly? Will team RWBY become maidens, if so what does that imply? How will the maidens fare against each other and Salem? How the 4 maidens interact with each other? What will happen to the powers once they defeat Salem? Will the powers change hands during the story? If so,how ?

That alone is a whole season of material, dude. And yes they could just show a montage and a voice over explaining it, but that would be extremely anticlimactic.

As for the Faunus You might remeber there is in fact a terrorist organization running around, that they suddenly forgot to deal with? I don’t blame if you don’t because RT clearly has.

What is there to resolve? Oscar will be gone and only Ozpin will remain. Like always. Unless you suggest part of the wrap up would be to end Ozpin’s cycle?

You see by “plot resolution” I don’t mean more exposition or information. We don’t need a montage with still images and a narrator explaining things . I mean actually paying off the plot threads by showing the emotional resolution to them. The latest volume teased to show Summer’s last mission so again that’s another implicit promise they failed to deliver.

As for Oscar We know he will merge, again its not an exposition problem. What’s missing is the emotional beats of that. How Oscar will deal with him slowly dying? How Oscar‘s family will react. Will Ozpin be affected by his death, will he do something to honor him? Etc etc

As for the others I am not ignoring you, it’s just that I feel my point is clear by now. They wrote a lot of checks they can’t possibly cash out with 2 seasons let alone 1.

That turns into less a "Maiden" issue and more of a "Character" issue, and I disagree besides. Winter was always a side character. She'll probably remain a Penny-like. Raven, despite my views on her, suffers from the same issue. As far as the plot is concerned she is always a second character to someone else (to Cinder's plans, to Yang's wishes). The Missing Maiden has never been important, and it would be an absolute literary disaster to introduce her, make her a main, and resolve her in the same Volume. I will have to concede on Cinder, though, for better or worse, she was always a main (weirdly Salem appears to be her second).
What will happen to the maidens in the end?
You assume something must happen. Why? Right now they are as part of the world as the air. Not a single character in the show (of which at least two could) have shown any desire to reverse this. I don't see a reason to create faux tension in the final stretch. If they ever want to try that idea out, they can make a book about the maidens.
What will happen to the powers once they defeat Salem? Will the powers change hands during the story? If so,how ? How will each maiden deal with their powers?
You are just creating more alleged plot points for seemingly no reason. Your original assertion was that there a plot points that need to be finished up. Adding new ones, working from that presumption, is nonsensical. As far as your question relates to Salem, she has no bearing on the Maidens' power. Better question would be what happens when, or if, Ozpin completely disappears, as at least then there is some sort of a connection (the writers have stated that the Maidens are draining his power; he has created them).
What’s the deal with the unacounted maiden? How will she affect the others?
Again, adding plot points that needn't be there. I don't see why she couldn't get the Atlas Maiden treatment; mentioned when important, and soon after killed off. This also has the benefit of aligning with what Cinder wants to do anyway.
Will Raven redeem herself and start fighting against Salem directly? Will team RWBY become maidens, if so what does that imply?
These are not even plot points. These are just questions. By your metric as long as there is an alive female (or a male in a female body as is the case with Penny), the Maiden thing is one big unresolved plot point. That's nonsensical.

As it relates to Raven, that is only relevant if we assume something more in the Maidens then them being glorified keys. Though, to answer you, they wanted to do that in Vol 9, but cut that out
As for the Faunus You might remeber there is in fact a terrorist organization running around, that they suddenly forgot to deal with?
That's not a racism question, though, and that technically got resolved. The head of the organization was killed (Adam), and their headquarters seized (Blake plotline during Vol 5). Sure there are still probably some elements elsewhere, but White Fang stopped being important after Vol 3 (bar Vol 5). They are just criminals now, and the police can resolve that.

What exactly is what you want done here?
What’s missing is the emotional beats of that.
The Farmer spent literally whole of Volume 6 and 7 and parts of 8 coping about the whole thing and talking it over with Ozpin. That's as much as you should realistically get without derailing the entire thing. The best you could ask is maybe an epilogue with some thoughts from Ozpin and a gravestone.
They wrote a lot of checks they can’t possibly cash out with 2 seasons let alone 1.
Sure, I can agree to that

Happy anniversary of Volume 9

Vol 9 was also late (I think 6 months or so?).
Fair point, but googling "RWBY Volume 10" gives you some pretty doom and gloom discussions about the very real troubles going on both with the franchise and RT as a whole.

There is possibly little to gain and possibly much to lose with that tweet from a PR point of view.

RWBY is basically two separate shows; V1-V2, and V3-V9.

V1-V2 are decent, they're not spectacular but they are their own thing with a unique identity and a nice underdog outsider story surrounding their conception and production, but that show is over, and has been over for years now. It isn't coming back and it never will, and it's honestly better off for it. V3-V9 are a totally different show that I don't particularly care about or for and so I also don't care about or for how they decide to wrap it up or not wrap it up.

I roll my eyes every time. The one thing that caught people's eyes were the fight choreographies. That's it. Nothing else. Oh, and hentai. And yuri bait.

So, yeah.

The music was really great. Comparatively 7-9 is lacking. 7, IIRC is essentially background elevator/movie-car-ride-music-during-dialogue, 8 is decent, and 9 is meh (they somehow fucked up Red like Roses, one of their best tracks)

I watched up to volume 3.

It was mid back then, so the later volumes must be something else haha. It was carried by the fights and designs, I disliked everything else.
