Fixing RWBY Volume 7: Episode 16 - Solstice

The episode begins with Robyn Hill’s internal conflict regarding her upcoming speech at the Mantle celebration, as she anticipates public outrage against Atlas. Despite her reservations, she decides to deliver the speech, emphasizing the need for strong leadership.

City-wide celebrations are shown across Mantle and Atlas, including street festivities, family gatherings, and social events. During this time, Neo, the Malachite twins, Roman, and Cinder infiltrate Atlas Academy.

Later, Blake, Yang, Neon, and Flynt attempt to enter a club in Mantle but are denied entry due to a “No Faunus” policy, leading to a heated argument and Blake’s deep frustration with the ongoing discrimination.

Meanwhile, Watts’s plan is set in motion as Neo activates a program at a server node, leading to the cameras shutting down. At the Mantle celebration, Robyn replaces Atlas security with her personal security, causing tension with Penny and Ciel. Nora expresses her concerns about their role in following Ironwood’s orders, leading to a tender moment and a kiss between Nora and Ren.

Robyn delivers her speech, openly accusing Atlas of mistreatment and calling for resistance against General Ironwood. An audio recording of Ironwood further incites the crowd, leading to projectiles being thrown at the Atlesian Huntsmen.

As Watts’s program progresses to “stage two,” a city-wide power outage occurs. Roman, having completed his task, leaves Cinder trapped in an elevator. Amidst the chaos, Robyn is assassinated by Tyrian. Jaune attempts to help her, but Robyn’s personal security prevents him, leading to a confrontation between the Happy Huntresses and Ciel. Joanna confirms Robyn’s death, leaving Jaune and the others devastated.

I can't believe how often people writing RWBY fanfic forget that aura is a thing.
Fuck sake, I read your post and it took me a minute to remember the show actually had something called aura and you weren't just using zoomer speak.

On a side note, I was in my early 20s when this series started and I thought the first few seasons were fun. What a mess it's become since then.

The scorpion guy? I can't recall what was his Unique Superpower (TM). Aura got retconned into needing to be consciously used so that cheap back-stabs could be used. This means Jaune should have died a long time ago, but from season 4 the show stopped being good at all.

No, please elaborate
Around 2018, a cosplayer, Kdin Castiel (don't know if that's her actual name), went to RTX cosplaying as Ruby. Only, it was a fan design of Ruby in workout clothes (basically Nora's workout outfit with the midriff exposed) -- which came from a porn comic though became a widely liked fan design. The cosplayer, 17 at the time, was sent numerous death threats for sexualizing a minor. So then you had a lot of arguments online about whether her outfit was appropriate, RoosterTeeth failing to make women feel safe at their cons (I don't really know what RT was expected to do here), and it was a big thing for a while that just sort of petered out as far as I remember.

Wow, sounds like everyone involved is perfectly sane and handled things maturely.
