Jacques was probably fueling the whole atlas economy with his company alone. That's pretty chad.
Yeah but the series made a reasonable and irrefutable point about how hes an evil dick. See, hes a racist maga hat wearing business tycoon that is actively oppressing the beaners furries by giving them paying jobs and housing... wait a minute

Here’s the thing though: the show painted Jacques, who’s said to be a racist, as being a dick to everyone, like with Cardin who was picking on Velvet. How do you fuck up a racist character at probably the simplest way to write racism?

He (Ironwood) is bad from not doing what RWBY says.

Anyway, I'd hope the news that apparently V8 will get settled in two in-universe days means the show will end next season. There's NOTHING to go on past Salem's demise and if needed they can just force a way to kill Salem.

Seven years, guys.

Also, has this show ever had an alpha?

Thank. God. If true, this trainwreck will finally be laid to rest.

That being said, guys, I found this crossover fanfic with Guyver. It's pretty good and actually nails almost everything wrong with the series.

However, one particular reviewer caught my eye.

I've seen this retarded fanboy before, and you would not believe how much sperging he does for RWBY. He's also a troper. One of the main editors of the page and basically one of the brains behind some headcanons based on his retarded observations. There are so many holes in this guy's "arguments".

His other reviews on the fanfic are basically just him annoying the author to not bash the "genius" plot and canon characterizations. He also, big surprise here, LOVES Blake and considers her his favorite character. Wow.

"If Adam was supposed to be this way, then why would he do this thing that the show wrote him to do AFTER they drastically changed his character to humiliate him?"

This guy's post could be summed up as "You can't write Adam any other way because RT wrote him this way, no matter how inconsistent he is."

Worst part is, it's interspecies racism, which is easy to do, unlike color based racism. M&K are such dense fucks that even making racist characters are hard for them. Even though they simply made one with Cardin anyway or Monty did, which makes it even worse, cause Monty as overestimated as he may be at times, did a better job again if he actually made Cardin.

Worst part is, Miles blames himself for being a "white male" when criticised for his shit Faunus plot, even though he's mixed. Yes, he's Half-Hispanic.

Well there's Ironwood, who got killed killed off for being a chad & Old Qrow who was suddenly stopped being a chad due to CRWBY fucking up
Ironwood, Old Qrow, Old Adam, and Old Sun are pretty much the only chads in this show. Funny how the show is now trying to emasculate all of them or make them into the Literal Worst people ever who probably kick puppies in their spare time. Can't have strong male characters, they're too much of a threat.

It's not. Since most people here seem unfamiliar with MMD I'll unleash my autism over it because I think it does provide context on why some people care about 'CRWBY stealing assets'.

MMD is a closed source freeware program that only comes with a few base models, therefore its users took it upon themselves to make their own that didn't look like garbage. These models belong to whatever artist made them, not the creator of MMD or some company. It's basically doujin software and the majority of them are some random artist's unpaid work. A bit like your average video game's modding community except with the mindset of artists, not open source coders. Japanese modelers pump out professional-grade shit for this program so it's understandable they have such strict policies that usually forbid commercial use, frankensteining the assets, etc. The model RWBY rips as a base for most of its female characters is from an artist known as Tda.
at first I thought it was some common jap clipart tier but at the same time there felt like there was too much effort in place for it to be too lenient on copyright.

Well, there’s also Beacon still being overrun with Grimm, Beacon and Vacuo having relics unaccounted for, and Vacuo having its Maiden being a big unknown, so there’s still some loose ends. As for future, RWBY has gotten the free light up to V9 (even though someone either here or on Discord pointed out that this was the first time RT pointed something like this out) and their corporate overlords really haven’t said anything about RT and them needing to produce as far as I’ve seen. Also, I wouldn’t put it past RT to make a big movie to end the RWBY saga and resolve everything, especially if the reports of RT being in danger are anything close to being true.

Well, the thing about Cardin is that he’s also that “character who’s said to be racist yet is painted as being a Dick to everyone around him” and he was the guy who picked on Jaune in the bully arc, so Monty and his crew was probably just trying to make your typical high school plot back then between the action.

As for the Faunus racism plot, looking that was fucked from the word “go” because a racism is a plot that can’t be easily solved in a show where the approach to problems is to punch them and the resolution to a plot is a few fight scenes away.

Thanks for the TL;DR. Honestly, at this point, I can only describe Adam’s problems as being caused by his character having nothing settled about it beyond “quick sword draw style that ends things in one swing”. And since that guy decided to bring up Gaston.... 2A24BC28-48B0-43F9-AB93-85A59173CFA8.jpeg

For some reason, I can’t stop randomly thinking about how unintentionally racist the way M&K handled Adam and the Faunus racism/White Fang arc in one fell swoop at Adam’s final moments. Like the dude was branded by the SDC over his eye and is now half-blind, that sort of gave him justification on his radical worldview. Of course this will probably never be brought up in the show and the last thing we have is basically an escaped (and probably abused) slave being killed by a girl of the same race but much more privileged who betrayed him with her amputee human girlfriend. All because of...lesbians I guess?

A gender switched villain. How original. 🤣

"Ex-boyfriends". :|:deagleleft:

Considering they stuck a branding iron in his eye socket, I'm gonna say that the chance of him not being abused is about slim to none.

The fact that they frame an escaped slave who's been clearly traumatized by what happened to him as being worse than the villain who wants to kill everyone on the planet and treat him as nothing more than an animal that needs to be put down does not reflect well on Rooster Teeth, to put it mildly.

I will never get over how they ended an entire arc about how violence and killing isn't the answer to your problems by... violently killing a man, who's faced the worst anti-faunus hatred in the series, and they treat this like a grand victory when in reality it's antithetical to the whole point of the arc.

Honestly, the fact that every RWBY antagonist is just “rabid animal that needs to be put down” is probably one of the worst things of this show. There’s no room for nuance or motivation. And even then, you got monster villains like Ozai or Ragyo Kiryuin who have that same “the only way he’ll be stopped is through killing him” have some motivation for their goals, even if it’s just “take over the world”.

They don't know how to make villains "sympathetic" without having them flat out get "redeemed" or "be fighting the right fight but doing it wrong."

Zuko still is the quintessential example of how to redeem villains, or at least misguided people. Looking back on his story, it was done so smoothly that scrutinizing it only brings up minor shortcomings.

But, no, anyone against Team RWBY are always bad guys.

I normally don't have a problem with villains that twirl their moustaches, but anyone here remember that mad bomber, Genthru? From HunterXHunter? At first, you'd normally think he's the typical bad guy, but then you start to see that he actually cares about his guys. Doesn't detract from being an asshole that'll kill you at the drop of a hat, but he's an actual character rather than a caricature.

My only question here is, why can't Rooster Teeth seem to capture that? Genthru did a lot of pretty scummy things, but looking back on the story, even the main characters, or really, most of the ones we see aren't exactly what would conventionally be called "good".

While the last people I'd call evil, Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio are far more gray than straight up heroes. Sure, Leorio is the kindest out of them (in relation to Gon), but he isn't naive or stupid, and that's what clinches him as a well written character.

Remember kids black lives matter unless there’s a bitch dyke or tranny involved

I don't think they can even do gray either. Whenever someone on the hero side does something nefarious or shady in RWBY (see Ozpin and his inner circle in volumes 3-5), the show's response is to either show Salem, Cinder, or Grimm being at least five times worse, like having Cinder have her henchman kill someone in cold blood, or have Cinder make a speech about the Ozluminati's actions behind the scenes like she's ISIS claiming responsibility for a terrorist attack (when if she wasn't so cold and calculating and one dimensional and wasn't trying to be super smug and arrogant all the time and had anything resembling charisma, could have actually painted Ozpin in a bad light), or paint Salem as someone who believes she can take on literal gods and win. And then exert her will to be worshipped as a god.
