You can tell the Blake vs Grimm fight this episode was bad in that even r/rwby can't stand it and there's been several threads mocking it and poking holes in the excuse of "Team RWBY were too tired to fight well this season."

Anyway, Eddy had a big meltdown on Twitter over getting tagged in someone's review of RWBY and went on to make a Twitter thread where he told people to stop @ing him with critical content which devolved into him strawmanning criticism of him being thin-skinned.

So long story short, you feel inclined to be condescending just because you tell people that you do care even though the finished product says otherwise, even though the public ain't obliged to kiss your ass all the time.

And you want to tell people to not be a cunt even though you yourself are proud being an equally arrogant cunt in using this as a means to go on a blocking spree to silence criticisms?

Yeah Eddy, that's totally not narcissism in the works at all.

This level of lack of self awareness is kinda astounding for someone whose career is always gonna be tied to public opinions, really.

Hazel and Emerald get redeemed in two minutes. I keep thinking RWBY can't botch up something even more, and they keep surprising me.
So this has to be the last season, right? I can't imagine it could be stretched anymore than another season. Then again, they did just waste fuck-tons of time doing nothing for most of Seasons 4-8, so I could be wrong.

There’s still the Beacon relic unaccounted for, a Vacuo Maiden and relic to account for, the Ruby vs Cinder showdown, and clearing out Beacon of the Grimm because this show is dedicated to having a happy ending.

Ruby's weapon is so fucking stupid. There's no way she'd be able to kill anything with that, but nope, she sliced the Zurg grim right in half with the blunt end of her sniperscythe. And I love how, since the writers added silver eyes on a whim since they had no way of getting Ruby out of Volume 3, they have to deal with this ridiculous power and now use it as purely a failsafe to action scenes they don't know how to write themselves out of. The dog grimm already did this with Oscar earlier, but now he's doing it with Penny for some reason? I forgot why but clearly Miles and Kerry thought it would be cool to have it threaten to kill her, and they were like "oh us shit what next" and just said fuck it, silver eyes.

Also, god damn it. The dog thing was cool. This is such a shitty twist. Ohh now they're getting on their knees, sad music is playing, fucking lmao shut the fuck up RT. Stop trying to make this le morally gray.

Everything about RWBY’s action has been style over substance with zero care for rules, limits, or practicality. Why get pissed about it now?

Whew... today's episode...
here's what I wrote under the episode in the RT comments section:
1) Why didn't Salem sense Neo's presence? She found the others easily. Does she even know Cinder is gone??
2) Why did the others stand there while Hazel was fighting Salem? They had a huge window of time to escape.
3) Lol, Hazel sent a coronavirus boulder towards Salem
4) Salem is extremely powerful... I'm disappointed she didn't injure anybody in a serious way. Could you imagine if Yang's other arm was torn off?! Or if she killed Emerald right then and there?! DAMN!
5) No Neo confrontation. Boo. :(
Too bad my questions will never be answered because RT is RT lol

Fuck, when she had them all in the grasps of her Grimm arms, she only focused on Emerald. Was she just going to leave the others alone then forget about them? I mean it seemed like she was at least going to threaten or maim Yang given how she snapped at the demigod.

so what the fuck are Mercury and Tyrian doing all this time? i get they took off in a ship (which in hindsight is pretty hilarious "yeah we don't have any idea what to do with these two guys yet so they're just gonna take off, see ya lmao") but could we at least get some updates on their mission or you know, come back and had some sort of stigma with Hazel / Emerald? they're both the only interesting villains left now and I don't see either of them reforming.

EDIT: Yang said summer rose was her mom to Salem , but I thought Raven was her mom?

What the fuck happened to Raven, anyway?

Okay, maybe I'm just stupid...

But does anyone recall any scene before this episode where Oscar and Ozpin used magic? I do not recall a single scene where they use magic (unless the soul swap is the magic in question)
I think they might've used it in the episode where he gets shot point blank by Ironwood. I'm not talking about surviving the bullet because Aura lol, but possibly slowing the fall.

Funny, I thought that scene was the show trying to lampshade their approach to action scenes now that actual stakes have been added to them.
Fuck right off. The building trauma in Yang in volume 4 was pretty much the only thing I liked about that season and if handled well it could have been a great character arc. So pissed off that they hand waved it away in volumes 5 and 6. Dont fucking defend that shit, it was handled in the worst way humanly possible. RWBY fans deserve their shit show.
