It has nothing to do with entitlement.

RoosterTeeth is a $50mm+ company - we're expecting the company to have some level of resiliency against network issues. This isn't some 2,000 subscriber YouTube channel, it's a large scale production company. Expecting a large company to have the most basic redundancy/resilience plans in front of a hugely telegraphed weather event is simply asking for the bare minimum for your existence.

COVID has been a thing for nearly a full calendar year - but there's no employee of "trust" that can manage uploads that isn't based in Texas? Not a single IT solution to sidestep this immensely predictable series of events?

Instead of getting angry and responding like a child, no answer would have been better.

Are you implying that a company do something competent instead of relying on whatever has always worked? Hindsight is always 20/20.

Goal already reached, but thought this was worth sharing.

Archive could be better.

Welcome to WarnerMedia, where all our employees are of the lowest brain capacity.

I feel like RWBY’s fan base is filled with leftists because it’s full of people that can’t comprehend why people like the things they despise. 291CA497-B661-4067-92BC-98598D9E36D2.png

The first mistake this moron made is comparing his past life with fictitious character background that could be anything depending on the writer's decision. Whether it make sense or not would be irrelevant because it's ultimately on the writer's ass in how he or she execute ideas.

Honestly anyone projecting their own personal life into a fictional show clearly has no grasp of differentiating between what's real and what's not, and frankly needs to grow the fuck up.

1. Well you can watch the degredation now.
If only CRWBY actually listened to their critics instead of immediately jumping onto Twitter to whine like a bunch of sensitive babies. I criticize this show out of LOVE. I KNOW they can do better and it makes me so sad seeing where we've gone since V3.
2. Yeah, "fans" like that were part of the reason that i avoided joining the fandom. Im glad you realized that and made like a tree.
I know right... and seeing some tweets from these bozos makes me SO happy I left.
3. Same. I think a lot of people want to be better. RT needs better writers.
It's really fucking sad how some fanfiction authors can flesh out the characters, lore, and world better than these professional (and PAID) workers in CRWBY.
4. They really fucked up with the ptsd for Yang. Pyrrha couldve had more development, but it dosen't matter now.
They fucked up her character SO badly after V3. I miss V1-3 Yang so much... I understand the characters have gone through a lot, but what happened to the punny, carefree, lively, energetic, outgoing, and "independent woman" Yang? Nowadays, she usually just acts like a prick unless she's sleeping with Blake (to everybody's annoyance). I'm glad Pyrrha died before they could've had the chance to ruin her character as well.
5. Eh we all had our moments on the internet. Fuck it. Well RT is going to milk this for what its worth till they can't anymore. Bumbleby coudv'e been legit but once again RT writing= no sense, no direction, no explenation (Deus Ex Machina and bullshit).
I actually wish they would've stuck with BlackSun... all of that building up since V1 and for fucking what? CRWBY, Blake and Sun were perfect for one another. You even had Sun meet her parents, one of the most stereotypical things a boyfriend in a film/tv show/anime do. If you wanted to have a lesbian relationship to milk the shit out of, you could've done some pairing like Freezerburn (their moment in V5 when Weiss comforted Yang crying over Blake leaving was really sweet).

Again, I criticize this show out of love. CRWBY knows they're screwing up in terms of things such as consistency and powerscaling, but they won't listen to us. It's really fucking frustrating.

They're listening to the wrong people.

Money wasting autists like these are the reason companies like RT sustain.
Their retarded fans will then yell at the naysayers that most of that money will be going to relief. No, it won't.

With how scummy RT has shown themselves, most of it will be pocketed. They can't help themselves.

I remember how I jokingly said back in the past that RWBY fandom is like a very autistic circle of Nazi Youth. Seems like that "either with us or against us" mentality is still festering deep within the community despite some bad apples being chucked left and right over the years.

Serious question, why did this shit ever get even slightly popular? It's you're average churned out anime of the week but with worse writing worse animation and god awful voice acting.

There is literally nothing that this show does that generic shit out animes don't do better.
Because of Monty Oum's fight scenes and his passion. And his already established fanbase were excited to see what he'd do with making his own show, along with the Red vs Blue fans that also came around and got to know how great Monty was that were super hyped about the next RT project. The red trailer has 15 million views on RT's YouTube Channel, it's the fourth most popular video on the channel, and there are three RWBY videos (the Red trailer, the Yellow trailer, and the first episode of RWBY) in the top ten.

That's how it got popular.

But again they're really nothing special that hasn't already been done a million times before by shitty paint by numbers anime trash.

Besides Monty's fight scenes tend to look like someone bashing action figures together.

I got into it on the ground floor, it looked like a fun show. At the time, I overlooked it's many flaws and lack of innovation, because the entire project brimmed with this passion and energy. I hoped that they'd eventually flow into their groove and make something amazing out of it. Then Monty died, Miles and Kerry took over, and handled the project poorly.

Well, here's the thing: The "Beacon Arc" (the first three volumes) are seen as the best part of RWBY, mainly because of Monty's passion for the project, it ad the best actions, and the best of the characters. And V3, which happened on the heels after Monty's death, is widely seen as the time when the show "peaked". Since then, for many reasons, tons of people consider the show as having gone VERY downhill since V4 started, and many problems with the show are made more evident since Monty isn't around to showcase what many consider(ed) to be the best part of RWBY: the action, which many feel has gone downhill since Monty's death.

On top of that, Shane Newville, Monty's apprentice/right hand man/protege, wrote a letter talking about how in the wake of Monty's passing, he was fired from RT, and he and his wife were never consulted about the future plans for RWBY, leading many to believe that RT has pissed on Monty's vision, and maybe even dropped a deuce on it as well, as they have completely gone rogue from Monty's vision for the show and the characters to get to where everything is now. The end result: an image of Monty Oum as a "misunderstood genius" or "a visionary cut down in his prime" (dude died at 33) that saw his passion project screwed by executive meddling, whether through not getting him or outright malicious intentions depending on who you ask.

As for Monty's fight scenes, I could go on a long time, but I get what you mean. There's a lot that could have been done a lot better in that regard.

All in all, dying an untimely death can do wonders when it comes to your reputation.

Its an American internet web anime, something that has been tried a lot and has crashed and burned just as many times. Seeing it done semi-competently is something people had never seen before. Mix it with Rooster teeth being at the height of their popularity + some very well done trailers and you have a hit.

I think people are really overstating how popular Monty was. His name and popularity was really niche before the RWBY trailers where he started popping off. You can even see this by the shoe string budget and lack of animators the first season had that RT didn't have a lot of confidence in the project until they started seeing the numbers the trailers + first season generated and poured money into it for season 2 onward (which did help for volumes 2 & 3).

RWBY was better in volumes 1-3, but never good. It had passion though, which good or bad is something most people admire and subconsciously seek out in media. Similar to the Room, which is a trash-fire, but a passionate trash-fire that many people can't help admiring in a way.

I get that point, but the thing is that how far could Monty's passion carry RWBY if he was alive? Also, Monty dying made his time overseeing the show look probably better than it actually is, especially compared to what happened after he kicked the bucket. Lots of people will probably tell you RWBY peaked in V3.

I am not saying Monty did a good job, just that there was clear passion in the work. I even say it was never good, but the passion and potential is what sold people on the premise.
