Like good lord, how old is she supposed to be? Because she looks almost twice that. And her face... I think she might need that looked at.
She actually looked good before, IDK what the fuck happened. But this also happened with Ruby's VA. It's actually posted somewhere here. She looked cute before, & now she looks like a druggie tumblrina.

Lots to unpack here.

All that autism aside. The Jaune thing is funniest thing, considering Miles is actually a self-admitted cuck, indirectly, but still self-admitted on video. Hell, I posted the clip myself on this & Rooster Teeth thread

Hell, not just Phyrra, but even the MILFs who liked Jaune at his first appearance in Mantle are seen devastated, detained, & then dead later in the riots, why are they even voting in the first place if they're detained. I lost the pic, but the purple one was laying dead in the riots scene. Either that was an asset reuse, or just Miles shoving his cuckery to Jaune.

Edit: I found the pics

By the way, it gets funnier cause Casserole MILF survived, but somehow Silver haired MILF survived too despite seen laying dead before. Either they actually did reuse asset, or they actually forgot who to keep alive or not.

Is there a generally agreed upon season where the show gets "bad"? I'll be getting into RWBY with a friend soon for various reasons and I'd like to see if I can spot the moment it happens.
I haven't seen a consensus established when exactly it got really bad, most popular candidates being Volume 3 and 5. Some people, including yours truly, say that Volume 3 was the beginning of the end when quality started to drop, but then again you can excuse Volume 3 for being made during the chaos of Monty's death. Almost everyone seems to agree that Volume 5 was the event horizon.

As much as I liked the music and the fight choreography, anyone who tells me that the ending of season 2 was good, is lying and it's where I dropped off. To be as spoiler free as possible, something that should have had the potential to be really bad was magically fixed in the final episode with no getting injured, dying, or any negative consequences whatsoever. Then team RWBY sat around going, we don't know who did this and were not any closer to finding out. Essentially making the entire second season, filler. (Or at least that's how I remember it as it's been a couple years)

Don’t forget the part where after they lament not getting answers, one of them goes “well, we’re not only going to always the answers”. And then they just go back to their dorm only wanting to get some sleep because...anime high school. And then...Monty died.

The show started bad, but had potential to be something. Volume 3 is when that potential died (literally and metaphorically). The show has just been on a constant decline since then to even deeper depths of awfulness.

Can it get bad if it was always bad?

Easily volume 3, towards the end it all falls apart. The tournament itself isn't very good either, but once it gets terrible it never stops.

I only watched the first 3 seasons. Dropped it because I thought it was shit from the very beginning and it never even showed signs of improvement.

The characters are bland and the dialogue is shit. The art style and animation looks janky as fuck. The plot is passable at best. People say the fight choreography is good but it was hard for me to appreciate when literally everything else ranged from “okay” to “complete dogshit”.

IMO, the only interesting things are the idea of basing characters off of fairy tale characters and the concept of the Grimm as the generic evil in the world. If I were to “rewrite RWBY” these are literally the only concepts I’d keep.

For most people, 3 was the start and 5 as when it settled into its "So shit, it makes one wonder why it was popular to begin with" phase.

What they seem to forget is that the first two volumes weren't that good either. All the problems most people have with the later volumes were pretty much being laid down in the first two, the writing, the animation, the inconsistent power levels, and the voice acting were already issues pretty much from the first episode. Now everything's bad in slightly different ways -- animation's janky because they over-rely on mo-cap or poorly timed keyframes, power levels are to the point where Salem should just be wiped out completely, more professional-grade VAs from LA and Texas keep popping in to do voices, showing just how mediocre to awful the in-house cast are (though the direction of the pros isn't much better, if not worse in some cases) and the writing is so broken that everyone's making attempts to rewrite the fucking thing.
