It's a weird feeling. Like... I know they're not gonna kill off Yang... But I also know that the FNDM will totally believe they're gonna kill off Yang because they're barely seen another show in their life.

This feels somewhat real. I could see them doing a copout, but just the same perhaps Barbara wants out and this is a good way to do it.

Ruby still doesn't really feel like she has a sisterly relationship with Yang. Like they had Blake give a bigger reaction than her. They had Ironwood have a bigger reaction than her. At least Yang went to save her I guess. Robin still screws things up and everyone kinda pretends like she's competent (what is the point of that ramming thing if Qrow was just going to jump through the window?). Ironwood killing Snee doesn't make any sense ("I'll give everything to save atlas and know its falling I'd better shoot the useless political prisoner just to show off my fancy gun I have the time") and Quick Chick's motivation barely makes more sense.

At least the fight scenes where marginally better than the Ironwood fight last episode.

Yang isn't dead because this show can't kill off a character unless they have at least five minutes of death flagging first. Then ten minutes of mourning. She couldn't even lose her arm with more sad shots then this, so she'll be fine. Its still dumb how hard they're pushing bumblebee when their relationship is basically just a mutual crush at this point (everyone keeps saying they're banging when in reality they're at the look-at-each-other-during-class stage). They have Blake overreacting when everyone else is basically on the same level of relationship (except Ruby who again should be significantly closer).

Yeah no, Yang's gonna be fine. There's no way CRWBY let Yang die after all the buildup for Bumblebee by the crew, alongside Yang clearly being the pet favorite character for most of the writing team judging by how she's the only member of RWBY actually allowed to do shit. They would go down in infamy along the likes of the Supernatural and Sherlock writers for years-long queerbaiting if they pulled back on Bumblebee now.

We're still gonna see a lot of cope from people going "Oh well Weiss survived her cliffhanger!" and it's likely they'll fakeout with Yang in the finale, but if Yang's not confirmed alive before the season ends, it's gonna be a very salty hiatus as RT lose ground with the one subsect of the fanbase left fully in their corner.

I really hope they hold off on her fate until V9 specifically for how damaging it would be for RT.

Given what happed when Weiss was impaled by Cinder, I don't think the writers are ballsy enough to actually go through with it.

I'm still shocked people really believed Weiss'd die. The comments section for that episode was full of gullible idiots.

If they do a cop out, it'd have to be in either vol. 9 or 10, just to play the angle up. But like I said before, the intro also shows Ruby, Weiss, and Blake also falling with Yang, so chances are the rest will join them and everyone in-universe will think they're dead even though we as an audience know they won't. Right now it's just 50/50.

What makes me laugh about all this is just the bored/stoned expression Yang has as she falls.

I loved RWBY when it first started, but as the years have gone by I've dropped off the RWBY (and RT) train. I loved (still love) Bumblebee BUT at this point I don't really care what happens to any of the characters. I think the main crew needs to face reality (aka one of the 4 of them dying) because at this point it still seems they don't react the way they should. Imagine what could have been if this show was well written.

If anything, they’ll just redo V4 and have everyone be separated and we work towards Team RWBY being reunited.

I'm not sure whatever remains of their fans can survive another season of walking around and nothing happening. That's not to say that they won't, they've shown how amazingly shit they are.

The hardcore RWBY fans are the equivalent of battered housewives, if any fanbase can survive a beating and still be coming back for more it's whatever's left of them.

Well apparently next volume's supposed to be "Shorter" episode-wise and "very trippy", so I don't think they're going that route.
oh god theyre gonna try to do an Evangelion. most likely just an excuse for nothing to make sense and for them to basically read out the script while doing character impressions. i've seen other trash try and do this and it never works out.

Theory on /co/ is all of Team RWBY will fall, we get season 9 as a “trippy” quest into the Void/Afterlife where they possibly run into the God brothers and make a speech, then have to fight their way back to the land of the living.

Now in my opinion this is such an original thought that it absolutely won’t happen, but there you go. That’s the theory.
