Cinder's Grim arm can steal Maiden powers. That is how she got it from the OG dead red head.
Ackshually, she had the Grimm butt-bug when she stole the Fall powers. She only got the Grimm arm after she got rekt'd by Rooby's silver sharingan.

I don't blame you for forgetting, this whole thing starts to blend over itself pretty fast.

Also:
>Being such a catastrophic failure as a writer, you get sick of your own plot, so you go out of your way to make filler

You can't make this shit up. :story:
This would be the point I cut all losses as a creator, and either reboot the whole thing or cancel it.
Ah... the good old days where nothing mattered in terms of plot. The kids were late for class... Jaune was bullied by classmates (good)... etc.

I wish RT knew that we never really cared about how simple the plot was. One of the biggest reasons why we all loved RWBY was because of the fight scenes and the character dynamics. I'm not sure how we've gone from a friendly school battle competition in V3 to a giant refugee crisis following terroristic attacks and a Trump vs. Hillary election in V7-8.

They were doomed the day they uploaded those final episodes of V3 in which the destruction of Beacon (and all of Vale), the death of Pyrrha, the amputation of Yang's arm, and the separation of all of the characters could not be reversed. After that point, the writers were forced to begin their story about traveling from kingdom to kingdom.
We really should've gotten more time in Vale if they were going to inevitably destroy it.
Agreed, V3 is where everything went off the rails.

This may be a bit late but I'm gonna take a stab at it anyways because it's definitely worth one.

So Eddy, you meant to tell us that this was done in a period where it's about as crunch-tightened as production of Anthem or Cyberpunk 2077?

No wonder the plot looked like a clusterfuck.

How about you actually focus on finishing the production and finalizing every shit first before releasing the damn thing, maybe even put out a long delay or two to iron all the inconsistent writing out so it doesn't look like it's clobbered together by a toddler?

After being bombarded by those who don't kiss RT or CRWBY's ass, Eddy's account went private.

This is so fucking typical of people in charge of RWBY production.

Also, that tweet has since been deleted, so even if you are following it, you can't see it anymore. (thank fuck for screenshots)

I remember one person saying that the last thing they did was audio, which is usually the part with “finishing touches”.

Nevermind the sound mixing, the bigger problems behind storyboarding + writing inconsistencies and questionable direction weren't even addressed.

It's like they're not even trying anymore and just roll along where the snowball falls.

Any screencaps of those?

Sadly no, they're mostly lost since Eddy private'd his account.

I know this because I saw some reddit thread bashing Eddy's stupid tweet announcement.

To be fair, couldn't Eddy be referring the upload of the episode itself as the final day of production?

He is clearly referring to the production of the entire volume -- which is quite frankly -- not good.

All in all I don't feel like I'm watching a show made with real love and passion to a craft, and more of just yet another corporate quota-meeting product to keep the company afloat in amidst of the rocky state of the studio as well as pandemic.

You can say they hustled like hell to make it entertaining, but it never really had the heart and soul that it once had when Monty was still around. RWBY as a show just lost its sense of innocence since V3 because the story just got way too complicated and they hammered in way too much with too little time in between the seasons to make it flow properly.

...not to mention RWBY now has way too many writers/directors in charge of the damn thing.

You know the old saying -- "Too many cooks spoil the broth."

Why are people surprised about this? This has happened at the end of literally every volume since Volume 3.

You mean the failing company known for extreme crunch time, insane timetables and a rushed finished product did exactly all those things? Who could have guessed that?

I think it has more to do with the fact that they're still doing that shit that surprises some people.

It's not just the plot, the animation became a massive clusterfuck by the end too. Fuck, even during the beginning the animation was among some of the worst in the show's history, and I'm including the Poser era.

Then again, when the fuck isn't Rooster Teeth not crunching?

Sorry if this comes off as powerlevelling, but animation production is usually only wrapped up close to release date.

What a lot of people here consider production would be just animating the show itself in having them move, lip flap and do fight scenes, which is usually done for a few months in a healthy environment. What production means from there is the layer of coat over the paint- sound design, audio mixing, special effects, etc. This is a very common thing in production, most animators will freely tell you that this part is usually done close to the end and it's not anything new. So yes, it's still bad they only concluded the day before, but it's not as bad as some of you believe.

Now the reason for Eddy going protected on Twitter is actually completely unrelated but just as pathetic.

See, there's a podcast called Anime Slushie which has been doing podcasts about each episode of Volume 8, and they announced yesterday that one of their episodes would be delayed, with the episode having a subtitle name of "Eddy log off challenge" due to the podcast hosts thinking he's a bad writer. Eddy randomly found this (legit I don't know how he found it, he wasn't @'d and they don't use his full name, and this podcast doesn't even have 2 thousand subs on YT or a thousand Twitter followers) and decided to try naming and shaming them alongside some really under-handed passive-agressive comments about how he was "ready to have an exchange here." Anime Slushie took screencaps of the exchange here and shared them after Eddy subtweeted about the podcast again.

Eddy then deletes the tweets and has a long tweet chain about how it's unfair he has a paying job during a pandemic and got paid to write the utter swill that was RWBY Volume 8, and the apparent double standard of how it's unfair when he lashes out at critics of the show while they're allowed to take shots at him all day (Eddy seemingly choosing to ignore that his fanbase fucking sucks and will gladly send harassment on anyone he tries to name and shame). Evidently after this he went protected, so I don't have screencaps or archives of this second part. Some RWBY shills tried to make a hashtag called #ThankYouCRWBY to suck his dick, but then they threw a bitchfit when some fans who didn't like the series used it to mock the more shitty parts of the show.

So, they inadvertently made #ThanksObama troll bait. Too perfect. :story:
