Sorry if this comes off as powerlevelling, but animation production is usually only wrapped up close to release date.

What a lot of people here consider production would be just animating the show itself in having them move, lip flap and do fight scenes, which is usually done for a few months in a healthy environment. What production means from there is the layer of coat over the paint- sound design, audio mixing, special effects, etc. This is a very common thing in production, most animators will freely tell you that this part is usually done close to the end and it's not anything new. So yes, it's still bad they only concluded the day before, but it's not as bad as some of you believe.

Now the reason for Eddy going protected on Twitter is actually completely unrelated but just as pathetic.

See, there's a podcast called Anime Slushie which has been doing podcasts about each episode of Volume 8, and they announced yesterday that one of their episodes would be delayed, with the episode having a subtitle name of "Eddy log off challenge" due to the podcast hosts thinking he's a bad writer. Eddy randomly found this (legit I don't know how he found it, he wasn't @'d and they don't use his full name, and this podcast doesn't even have 2 thousand subs on YT or a thousand Twitter followers) and decided to try naming and shaming them alongside some really under-handed passive-agressive comments about how he was "ready to have an exchange here." Anime Slushie took screencaps of the exchange here and shared them after Eddy subtweeted about the podcast again.

Eddy then deletes the tweets and has a long tweet chain about how it's unfair he has a paying job during a pandemic and got paid to write the utter swill that was RWBY Volume 8, and the apparent double standard of how it's unfair when he lashes out at critics of the show while they're allowed to take shots at him all day (Eddy seemingly choosing to ignore that his fanbase fucking sucks and will gladly send harassment on anyone he tries to name and shame). Evidently after this he went protected, so I don't have screencaps or archives of this second part. Some RWBY shills tried to make a hashtag called #ThankYouCRWBY to suck his dick, but then they threw a bitchfit when some fans who didn't like the series used it to mock the more shitty parts of the show.
So long story short, Eddy is just a snowflake smug-to-the-bone cunt who thinks his shit smells good and everyone else who don't think otherwise deserved to be publicly shamed whereas when he gets egged on for being a cunt he thinks he's the fucking victim and goes hiding in his safe-space like a fucking fairy.

The immaculate idol representing your show, RWBY fanbase.

As for the pandemic thing?

Boo-FUCKING-Hoo, join the fucking club, you damn crybaby bitch. As if you're the only sacrificial lamb in the entire world that has to work to feed themselves, right?

Why do so many people act like working during a pandemic is something they deserve a medal for?
Because the initial media push/government approach to keep low level morons at work (grocery store workers, baristas, low level healthcare workers) instead of staying home and waiting it out was to paint them as "essential workers" and literal "heroes".

They ran with this for a full six months or so and a lot of people bought it.

Because when the COVID protocols were at their peak, people legit thought society would collapse or just change forever.

Ah yes, the obvious queer-coded activities such as...
... taking a picture together?

..... one of them crying?

standing in front of a waterfall where they just killed a guy?

Maybe I don't get how this works, but it doesn't seem like there's a lot there.
If that's what constitutes a relationship these days, I'm completely done.

Oh wow. That's such a deep and compelling ship. Even though there's never any hint that they're into each other for real.

Frankly anyone championing a non-canon ship just because it represents them felt so disingenuous.

It feels more like they need a safe space of their own through the characters rather than genuine support of a character's growth, which is total bullshit.

All of the scenes pictured were from after the writers decided to make the ship canon because they just gave up, I guess. Did these two have any chemistry before V5 or so? Plenty of people would argue that they don't even have any chemistry nowadays.
They don't.

Because that would require genuine effort and time and loads of meticulous planning on developing characters humanely to be able to properly sell to audience.

And they knew they need revenue as quick as possible so they cannot afford to delay. Why spend time and effort when you can cut corners and tease the shit out of gullible audience for easy cash?

I remember I read a post claiming that the writers were planning to make Black Sun (Blake x Sun) canon, mainly because of the chemistry they had, as well as how they contrasted each other with their personalities and Semblances, but realized Bumblebee was popular, so they gave up and decided to act like that was always who Blake was meant to be with.

I thought that was just common knowledge.

I don't think CRWBY will ever admit it blatantly, but this is the truth.

>Black Sun

probably not the best name for a ship lol

CRWBY really didn't know what they were in for when they decided that all of their main protagonists + 1/2 of their deuteragonists would be female (I am referring to JNPR when I say "deuteragonists")... this alongside making RWBY what is basically the American version of a "shounen anime" was bound to bring in a huge horde of Tumblr freaks: prepubescent teenage girls (or whichever gender out of the '600 Genders Library' they pick to be today) who are horny, emotionally unstable, unbelievably cringy, and "woke".

Think about it. Do you believe a show with staff members who act like 12-year-olds would ever attract semi-normal fans?
So what I feel like happened is:
  1. RWBY began as a little passion project
  2. Tumblr eventually found RWBY
  3. Tumblr started to be Tumblr and "analyzed" scenes for "muh representation" because why the hell not
  4. Tumblr found no LGBT people and began to fucking riot
  5. CRWBY tried to make separate characters that were "diverse"
  6. Tumblr had a massive fit because they weren't main characters or important to the story
  7. CRWBY desperately shoved any and every sexuality and gender onto any and every character possible... bisexual Blake, lesbian Coco, transgender May, gay Scarlet, etc.
  8. The Tumblr bitches migrated to Twitter as soon as they couldn't post their steamy hot Bumbleby porn on there; they were now closer to CRWBY than they were when they were all acting like morons on Tumblr

Rest easy Sun. You're probably going to be gay in V9 because the "FNDM" desperately needs a reason as to why Black Sun is garbage and wasn't going to happen in the past-- Sun was just the fag supporting his bestie's dream to make Yang hers. Shame on you CRWBY for never telling us that Sun was secretly having gay sex with Neptune!

I can buy that. "I think you look better without the bow" is still a genuinely cute scene and it makes me frustrated that the books and the writers made Sun into a sleazy jackass.
