In my opinion it sounds like he's planning to reward people for toxic positivity.
I thought the exact same thing when I read that. It's not the worst idea in theory but he's going to fuck it up as usual. There are many possible ways to define what a "positive community member" is, but it sounds like their version of it is just going to be a literal yes-man that gives every single game a positive review, which isn't helpful at all. If a game is bad, you should be able to say it's bad without worrying about it affecting your account.

The moment you start adding monetary/resource incentives for stuff like reviews, it introduces problems. Valve already figured this out, which is why they disconnected Steam points from the clown awards. They want reviews to be about whether the game is good or not, not just trying to guess what the general consensus will be in order to post the opposite opinion and farm awards. I'm amazed Garry doesn't see the parallels between this system and that one.
Everything I hear about this game is just extremely fake, from the community with financial interests in it playing unpaid, armchair lawyers to devs themselves encouraging fake engagement with carrots on sticks.
It's because Garry cannot take criticism. That's why. If you want to stick around in the community and not get banned you either can't say anything or you have to agree with every single decision they make. To be fair, it's not like this is super uncommon in modern gaming, but it's particularly bad with S&box.

I don't think he understands that most people who don't like the sausage models or don't like the game's clear lack of identity aren't complaining about those things because they hate Garry and they're evil and just want to troll him. While there are some people with bad intentions, it is not the majority of critics. Even the regular posters on this thread haven't expressed anything like that, we're just laughing at the dumb shit he constantly does.

It seems like s&box is now dropping free cosmetics.
Some of the free drops are being listed in the hundreds.

EDIT: The Scientist Respirator got sold for 100 dollars, lol.

Speaking of this, s&box game devs aren’t happy about their game receiving negative reviews.
On part 2 of the review system:

It seems like the fake positive reviews for drops are already happening after Garry dropped Update 26.05.20 blog.

Garry should both read and tell these guys to read Valve's article about Steam reviews. Specifically these parts:

While it obviously sucks to be given a bad/off-topic review, it's the internet bro. Shit happens. Censoring and in some cases attempting to retaliate against people for writing reviews is even worse. A screenshot in a previous post had a game developer saying he was going to personally ban someone who left a negative review from his game. Just that. No other reason. It's bad enough to do that in a free game, can you imagine if that happened to you after you paid $60 for it?

Consider the long-term. Once you export your game and put it on Steam, the training wheels are off, and people can say pretty much whatever they want about your game. This is why I brought up Valve; although they're not perfect either, they're much more reasonable with their rules and aren't going to ban you just for saying "this game sucks" or whatever.

Or god forbid, people can just talk about your game on other sites. Maybe a certain forum will even make a thread about it if the game gets big enough. What are you going to do then? Tell them they have to delete it? I don't think so.

But since Garry himself spends way too much time obsessing about Steam reviews, I guess it would be unreasonable to expect him to teach new developers any good practices.
