Oh dear god please no. Don't do Homeworld dirty like this. Not with today's "modern" studios.
This is Embracer we're talking about, and like other big corpos, they don't give a shit about quality

they don't give a shit about quality
I mean it seems like they're all over the place. I still point to the SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom remake as an example of something of quality they've put out in recent years

>thinks it can't possibly be that bad
>it's worse
>holy fuck
>dated graphics
>poorly optimized
>buggy as shit
>vulgar satire is gone and replaced with catty CURRENT YEAR dialogue
>after two seconds, you want to viciously strangle all of the protagonists with your bare hands

I guess ESG stands for Extra Shitty Games.

Depending on the division or subsidiary, Embracer has been hit or miss

I tried to give it a half hour and kept telling myself maybe there will be something technical, artful or otherwise interesting about it but nope. Same general gameplay as sr3/4 except I feel like some commissar is watching to ensure no fun is had or humor used. Like the gender studies faculty at some fringe college made this game as a hobby mod of the game engine to prove they can do a better job without offending anyone.

I'm glad Agents Of Mayhem has been brought up in the thread too because that thing was a steaming autistic pile of dogshit meant for zoomers who wouldn't give one single fuck about SR even if you paid them.

I knew Saints Row would be free on Epic and for it to happen one year later is about right. Epic lost with this game they paid for an exclusivity deal only to give it away for free.
It's like someone handing out free brownies for the sick individuals in which none of them have peanuts or peanut butter flavor in fear that many people can be allergic to peanuts.

I got a lot of respect for Mike Watson (IdolNinja), he was a rare example and what is really needed in video game development and that is someone who genuinely cares about what they are doing and why they are doing it.

On Saints Row Mods he would take time out of his day and talk to anyone that had questions about modding Saints Row. Mike was a nice guy, he had a lot of passion and love for Saints Row and its community. I appreciate Mike Watson's commitment to working on the patch, considering how advanced his condition was.

I use to watch the streams Volition did on Twitch. I didn't know that was Minimaul on stream when they announced they were working on the Saints Row 2 patch. I would like to know how much money it was worth for Minimaul to waste everybody's precious time.

Its disheartening to learn that Minimaul would be so callous with IdolNinja, to throw away a 10 year old friendship for money by lying to him that he was working on the patch and nearly costing Mike his job. That is unforgivable.

Edit: I saw Minimaul's response, if I am going to take what he said at face value. He should have just admitted that he couldn't do it because he didn't have the knowledge or experience in working on the game engine or multiplayer and just have helped in areas that he did have experience.
