Saints Row thread

2016 woke still didn't had tranny agenda pushing, they were only starting with the subversion of characters and they even had a "nonbinary" nigger in it but it was the beginning so he never pushed that into your face.

kind of like how deus ex mankind divided has that nonbinary dyke, which debuted on the fall but got niggerfied on mankind divided.

so, amerimutt nonsense :story:

Watch Dog 2 isn't a bad game. I don't see the hate for it.

I thought people just ignored it after the first Watch Dogs was a disappointment.

Most people I know who played it thought it was good. They bitch about being able to kill people but like...just don't? I'd rather there be options than not.

The best way I can explain my gripes with Watch Dogs 2 was that it was irritatingly current year. Marcus had almost no grit to him, he felt more like someone I should be playing his game with, like a friend, rather than someone I should be playing as. In my eyes, the ideal protagonist for such a game is GTA5’s Trevor, since no matter what you do while playing as him, you really can’t break character.

I didn’t much like the theme of the game either, but I guess that’s down to taste, and being overwhelmed by, well, everything about it just being the style of the mid-2010s through the present. Maybe I’ll give it another chance in a decade and see how it aged.

AE8FFB4E-B8F6-45DA-AF06-B68F35B7A944.jpeg

Also, apparently Marcus is just eight days older than Null. Both are heavily notorious, live lives dedicated to technology, very knowledgeable about cryptography, and not physically intimidating at all. Maybe Marcus is just the black version of Null

Admittedly, I'm young and Black like Marcus so it did fit well with the whole GTA open world fantasy. I'm not saying he was an exact replica of me, but it did feel like I was in San Fran. Wrench is annoying tho.

since no matter what you do while playing as him, you really can’t break character.
Now that was an issue for me. Marcus could print 3D guns and go on a massacre if he wanted. Going all guns blazing didn't quite fit the tone that Ubisoft was going for. Outside of missions, I generally treated San Fran like I'm a tourist. Taking pictures, exploring, getting into hijinks, collecting stuff.

I see where you're coming from, others share that same sentiment as well. For me, however, it was a great Ubisoft game.

Wrench is literally into anything that moves although leaning towards gay, not nonbinary at all. (And honestly look at his face. Gay as fuck) Come 2021 he's upset about getting divorced from his husband, but that isn't really anything that defines his character in Legion aside from minor dialogue and the graffiti on his table. He's a fun troll that likes guys. He's not like say, the lgbt characters in bioware shit.

Watch Dogs 2 should have just gotten rid of weapons entirely, it was stupid to have them in the first game and stupid for the 2nd, be hacker man hack the environment around you to proceed rather than pull out a gun
Which is why "woke" GTA would not woke in practice and execution. How would a woke criminal work?

Unless you're working in a bank.

I know I played and finished Gat out of Hell, I just can't remember anything interesting about it other than the flying and how the ending tied to Agents of Mayhem.

I do remember being under the impression that it was a fan-made game or just a quick money-grab.

Never bothered with Agents of Mayhem.

This reboot reminds me of Xcom: Chimera.

Ubisoft Open World Game
Greatly improved on that formula. No towers, no useless collectibles, no monologuing exposition, improved parkour.

Driving and multiplayer, questionable.
yeah, they are refining that formula. that's why i don't hold anything against far cry 6 besides the "choose your frame" stuff they introduced on new dawn, multiplayer is trash though, forced MP into a SP session dark souls styled was never good, that's why i play WD2 with my connection off.
ubisoft slowly learned after asscreed unity that it's better for them to just focus on the damn game, whenever one of their directors say something about their games being political, just as it was said recently that fc6 is supposed to be political, no one gave a fuck.
also, people gave me puzzle stickers, time to sperg out like a nigger, reeeeee (hehe)
At least it was marketed as a spinoff title, this thing has the nerve to taint the SR name like Sonic '06 did to Sonic.

If this was Saints Row: Desert Mayhem or some shit, that'd be one thing, but calling itself Saints Row sucks ass.
well the "fans" and "incels" are calling it woke row, fitting name since you are using the chess club of gang reprobates "to wreck shit up", i'm really gunning to tear their narrative apart since they'll try mixing the serious aspects of SR2 and The Third.
the thing is that both narratives don't mix well, 3 is whacky moments but a bit of seriousness, 2 is seriousness with whacky commentaries just like 1, it doesn't mix without it looking AND sounding forced, fuck i might even mod a laughing track just to make it less cringy.

look which thread you're in. you're not a criminal when you fight the system to abolish your student loan or something. technically yes, but only bad guys can be criminals, and since you're fighting those bad guys that makes you automatically the good guy - which means you can't be a criminal.
same way antifa can't be fascist because they have "anti" in their name, see?

ubisoft didn't learn shit, just look at that whole wd legions debacle where the game ran headfirst into a wall after brexit actually went through and they hastily had to move away from the whole message to not look like complete retards.
not to mention after their #metoo shit last year they tripled down on woke, if you think they were bad in the past you haven't seen anything yet. right now it's a race between blizzard and ubisoft to virtue-signal so hard they cross the spectrum and drop gamer words to own the chuds.

The flying was the best part of the game. I don't even hold the game being a reskin against it. It wasn't sold at full price when it was brand new, which is a plus in my opinion.
  • No music while driving in hell. You'd think the demon police would listen to some metal while running over lost souls or something
  • Everything explodes for no reason.
  • The Musical Numbers. And fucking love violent Musicals and Rent.
  • Really short for an SR game. S3 being the shortest and SR2 being the longest.
  • Mandatory Minigames, this nonsense started in 3. They should be optional not required to advance the story.
  • Crap rewards for completing missions and minigames. I think this was a thing they copied from GTA.
  • Was the set up for Agents of Mayhem, aka Saints Row 5. Like, they straight up made Agents of Mayhem part of the universe when they revealed that Johnny wished to be the good guys. But then a year later, the devs are like LOL NO IT'S NOT SAINTS ROW IT'S TOTALLY DIFFERENT...while releasing Johnny and Kinze DLC.

No customisation either. Surely hell would have a few clothing shops?

nigero i was talking on the game part, the PR part always kept virtue signaling to be woke and whatnot but from my perspective people just treat as EA adding microtransactions into their game, it's something they'll always do so fuck'em (or maybe my limited channels give that appearance), give them their 15mins of attention then ignore them until the next time they embarass themselves saying woke shit, remember that the FC6 director said that the far cry 6 game was political and people outside trannygon and trannyera literally shrugged it off? i literally only remembered it by checking the FC thread and seeing the one where one of the directors got butthurt that people took FC5 "too seriously" by using their "gospel music" on political rallies.
that's why people usually call a boring-generic-collectible ridden game "a ubisoft game".

yeah but you were playing with two premade characters instead of "tha boss", i believe it's one of the excuses as to why you can't change their appearance.
at least the game was kind enough to load your boss from SR4 mass effect style.

anyways, puzzle piecing aside. reddit's on copium is showing "more gameplay screencaps"
shilling.png

the graphics being like SR4 is "because it's an alpha", meaning they teased youtubers with a private video of an alpha? kek.

there is a megathread on the leak too (video).
Fast Car HijackingJust like in SR3, you can jump through the windows of cars to hijack them quickly
AI RammingThere is a lot of ramming in this game, similar to Cops in GTA, Cops and enemies in SR seem to love to push you off the road
Monster TrucksMonster Trucks are in the game! Lets go!
Environment InteractivityCars seem to interact with the environment a lot, you can run over tents and etc, they're not solid, and you can drag things from the back of your car
Other Game Inspired GrapplesNot sure who did it first, but we see this mechanic in Mario Odyssey, Dying Light, Warzone, and etc where you can launch up a building or grapple line, in this case by shooting the motor, and go flying or reach the top of a building.
Driving Seems... IffyThe driving still feels like SR4-esque which I do not like personally, but that's just me, I really don't like the driving in SR3/4 and it reminds me of the driving in Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint, just basically a "sub project" and not exactly focused on, the motion blur also makes it seem a bit worse but it is pre-alpha footage.
There's a Train!TRAIN!
Vegas-Esque Night Time DisplaysNot sure what else is needed to say here
Craft Beer RestaurantsReally going trendy here :P
Lots of diverse locationsI really like the districts and how different they are, 9 different ones and some feel like big cities, some feel like the west and some feel like the suburbs, I like this contrast and diversity ngl
Stunt Jumps are back.. maybe? Not sure but they do show doing jumps as a selling point there
Nina's Concept art is way better than her actual characterSorry I had to say it, maybe they'll change it before release? Or maybe the longer you play the game, the saints may "grow up" and get older and change their look throughout the campaign, as you can't grow a criminal empire quickly! (Hire me Volition?)
More customisation of the rest of the gang + Kevin wore a shirt! It looks to be tied to progression since everyone is wearing more purple except the boss in this shot. Eli looks slightly less silly with a necktie instead of a bowtie (Credit u/T0MMY3688)
Cats are in the gameMeow
Character CustomisationI mean we all knew from the tweets, but seeing a bit more character customisation was cool, though they don't show off any of the other 7 voice options which sucks
Special attack animations are back!Love this, loved learning the news ones in SR2 and you could do some cool ones in SR3, and seeing it in the video was great! (8:16). I won't comment on some of the animations and dodging and etc being clunky, as it is still pre-alpha so we have to remain fair.
You can hold grenadesThis sounds super lame but I'm happy to see it again, though the animation (9:20) looks a bit.. weird, like an unusual jump throw (though I did just say I'll try to be fair lmao)
Still no glimpse of HUDI really want to see the HUD we're working with and crosshairs and etc
The Saint's Really Want To Be KnownFrom the get-go, they seem to rob a gas station, which is a low-level crime with no masks and showing their full identity..? I guess they want to be known, but if you're just starting out, not sure if you want to be immediately on the radar :P
You can set up legit businesses as frontsRealistic! :P
^ Going on that. You can build what you like on lots as you control moreAs you take over more of the cities, you get more oppurtunities to build land, and you choose what YOU want to build there, and what criminal businesses to run from there
Co-op!Not sure whether they are allowing crossplay? It says you can enjoy co-op whether you're on the new gen or last gen, but not sure if that implies crossplay? Nvm Confirmed Co-Op supports Cross-Gen
Insurance Fraud is back!I hope that more side-mission type things like this come back from SR2 and etc. Though I will say it seems a little clunky, but again, pre-alpha.
Jedi are in the game? This is slightly a joke, but it seems near the end, there is the (the Idols?) using a lightsaber esque weapon to deflect bullets
Some Old Faces (Guns)SKR-7/Tombstone/AR/Krukov(from SRTT)/NR4 are returning in this game! (Credit: u/K1dP5ycho)
Ronin Logo on the DojoMaybe we'll see some familiar faces? Maybe not.. but maybe their fighting style / take-downs will come back into the game
Marshall's terminatorTerminator-esque robot (or suit?) with a cowboy hat
Cops depend on DistrictCops uniforms and cars change depending on the district you're in. E.g. Desert vs City
Wing SuitWing Suit in action! I missed this due to the watermark so thankyou u/T0MMY3688 again
(i do agree with the "was this so hard to share DS?)
OOH Funny.
