New trailer
I'll give Volition the slightest amount of credit, the flying suit tells me they at least tried adding something new to the series.

But that's about the only good thing I can say about it. At best, the gameplay looks like it's going to be mediocre and at worst it's going to be a bore.

Not that new, you could essentially do the same thing in SR4 since you had superpowers and shit.

the only thing they added was the flight jet controls to the sr4 glide and called it a day.
if you notice the animations are slightly changed but it's pretty much sr4 superpowas...
fucking hell, they want to fail i guess.

I mean, I might pick it up for a fiver after Volition goes under, but any game I buy for that cheap I'm already expecting to be the absolute drizzling shits.

At least SR4 knew it was fucking stupid.

Considering how much dislikes the trailer for the new game received (even while initially not showing gameplay in the past), I’m not even sure the pirates would pirate it.
They will, the question is though, whos going to pay for it. I don't see that much of people that would be willing to pay for woke entry in the series. And yeah yeah yeah reboot-shmoboot but, come the fuck on, that's not the damn Saints Row, it's just a bunch of groomed barely legal gen z dorks. Not gangsters we all know and love.

I think they're hoping that a new audience will come in and make the old fanbase not matter. The only issue is that the kiddies and weirdoes they want play other games or have other interests. Why play a fortnite knockoff when you can just die of cringe and play the real deal?

I mean, you're gonna be paying extra money for the bandwith in downloading it. If he wants to try it then he should pirate it, don't bargain bin buy it. That just costs you more.

I mean, they can gather the new audience, but let's face some facts then, they don't have anything original to offer, the things shown so far are look generic, wonky. Diversity will not save this game either.
It doesn't have a charisma previous entries have had, at all. Saints Row 3, even if it was the turning point in the series downfall for some, is still fan and enigmatic, it catching you up by its sometimes insane shit, it have a character, the atmosphere. The new one however does look like a dirty cheap Just Cause rip off without anything that made both JC and SR fun time to spend.

I just don't get why they seem so eager to alienate their fans after the way AOM crashed and burned.

It was a miracle Volition didn't shut down after that, so I don't get why they're not going the safe & sane route here.

Man SR4 just embraced stupid but at least it was funny stupid, the kind of idiot that acts like a clown but is actually a bro when you get to know him better. If SR1-2 captured gangster friendship, SR3 added techno-futuristic weapons and SR4 had superpowers (with GOH having flight mechanics), what does nu-SR have? Well nothing really.

Because they're delusional and fucking hate what they made previously apparently. My guess is desperation to not die is also present, since that's why they're reluctantly going back to Saint's Row and lied about what it was like.

not that it will help them much, but I guess the IP will be cheap to pick up afterwards. maybe thq nordic will grab it and do a proper remaster of 2, they've been on the roll lately (cranking out TQ expansions over a decade later and even started doing one for kingdom of amalur of all games).

even fucking gothic 2 got an expansion recently, fan-made, but still...

Doesn't THQNordic already own Volition? They own Koch Media, which in turn owns Deep Silver, which in turn owns Volition.
that explains why speesh mareens 2 have a tranny in their writing team and titus became a fucking primaris, excluding the fact that he's a smurf.
still, volition wants to have new fans in the game and hopefully some braindead retards that didn't get as annoyed with how the narrative on SR3-4 went, koch media wants zoomers as their new SR fans, by telling volition to not be original at all.
this seems like some 343 shit but with the OG devs still in there to destroy the IP, as i've seen in a comment, gaming has been infiltrated by people who hate gamers.

i've also hold no hopes for kingdoms of amalur 2 since THQ owns the ip, all that beautiful artstyle thrown in the trash and more gobbo wahmen to be added soon™️

That's the worst part. In 343's case, they were a branch of Bungie but were constantly strangled and eventually forced to follow Microsoft's ideas. Here, Volition's very own OGs are also corrupted, so no one like Staten will save Saints Row.
