That was apparentl almost immediately with the healthbars everywhere.
I doubt they worked on an AoM sequel for very long given it flatlined but they'd obviously want to salvage as much as possible lest all that work goes to waste.
Frankly they should have salvaged more. My wife, the Islamic Ninja had workable melee mechanics in AoM, not good but it didn't feel terrible to hit NotCobra with the sword, while melee in NuSaints feels like complete ass.

SR4 pokes fun at stuff it has reverence for, rather than saying how shit shit HEY ITS SHIT everything is. You never got the impression the writers were genuinely angry.
Hell, even in GOOT their admission about a traditional mission structure not being possible due to budgetary limitations was tweaking the publisher's nose rather than full on screaming about oppressed artists.

The only way I can see them caring is if their bosses lit a fire under their asses for burning a good IP with some money left in it. They got the feedback about a lot of this shit after the first trailer and didn't care, now that it's tanking someone's missing out on money.

Saints Row is really not being subtle about the Epic Games version. This game really is showing you how much they dislike PC players, even when trying to ease off the heat from console players that didn’t like bugs and shooting glitches in the first place.

Was in my local Walmart earlier when I noticed the section dedicated to the game had other games within, with the reboot being reduced to a stack each for PS4 & PS5 (for reference, Walmart does four stacks for new titles that're split between the different PlayStation & Xbox versions). I also noticed that there were about 8 copies in both stacks, with the Xbox section faring little better.
Either the thing's selling well enough that they can't fill the whole section, or it's selling poorly enough that they're reducing inventory.

After beating this shit, I have to say.
It's just Saints Row 3 with a new skin, just like how Saints Row 4 and 5 were just reskins of the same game.
Interestingly enough, if you look closely at the map, some parts of it resemble Steelport and Stilwater, just like a few blocks of Steelport resembled Stilwater.
Gameplay wise.
Let me use the UI function accurately describe my opinion on the gameplay.
I fucking hate RPG mechanics and progress gating in action games.
I am tired of being given options and then when the actual missions start, my options are taken away.
My powers are taken away.
My skills are taken away.
My weapons are taken away and I'm given a piece of shit that does a fraction of the damage I was doing to the same enemies a moment ago.
WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT OF A SANDBOX IF IT'S RESTRICTING MY ABILITY TO SANDBOX.
So, the Boss and Crew.
I feel that Nu Boss is too bipolar for me. This is to the point that the only way to enjoy Saints Row is to play Boss as a female character. Why?
Because when you play as the male boss he goes from cruel to excessively touchy, spazmatic, touchy feely, bro-mo-sexual, cocksucking sycophant in a single breath. This is why the game doesn't have the REPLAY MISSION option because at first glance, you can ignore it. But when you switch the gender on the player character it becomes extremely apparent.
When you play as the Female Boss, it's just an average current year, too much caffinee not enough anti-depressants, Woman Moment.
Esspecially with the Cuckmaster Nuhaluli however the fuck you spell his name. When you play as a male boss, it's the boss being really fucking gay. When you play as a female boss, it's more like she's moistened her panties from his presence.
Why do I fucking hate the new crew?
Because you, the player don't develop a relationship with them.
Have you ever gone out with a group of friends and bump into another group of friends and while getting a drink or something, you're telling stories. And then the one friend in either group, tells an injoke that only friends of the group would get? That's the relationship the player has with Nu-Boss, Neenha, Kev and Eli.
You don't get the joke. You won't get the joke. But they get the joke. That's all that matters! It's actually a social faux-pas but given this generation of people who literally have ZERO friends beyond their closed social circles, it's understandable that the writer doesn't understand why it's bad.
Anyway. If this was a true Reboot, we would have seen PLAYA form relationships with Neenha, Kev and Eli.
I personally wanted to know why Neenha and Kev were so fucking willing to rob their own gangs and live together. Because you know, the Idols are a fucking cult and Kev was deep and he casually betrayed them on a regular basis, the same with Nina. These two didn't just shit where they slept. They shit on the walls. They shit on the floors. They shit everywhere but the toliet and I'm upset more bad shit didn't happen to them.
Like... Where's the tragedy that shaped PLAYA into the BOSS? There's no Carlos, there's no Lin, there's no Troy, there's nothing just some random dude who goes single white female on you after you save him from a jail you put him in.
God, who the fuck wrote this fucking game.
It's a perfect Meh out of 10. It's not shit. It's not new. It's not even worth getting upset over.
Is it woke? It's as woke as your average community college ie, just woke enough to not offend anyone , but woke enough to avoid being targeted because it's not woke enough.
It's stil better than the cuckfest that is Agents of Mayhem and Grand Theft Auto 5.

This reminded me of a shitty bug in The Third where one of the DLC missions gives you a certain weapon without upgrades to keep you from being too strong, but after the mission is over your upgrades stay gone and you have to buy them again.
