His NDA is up. Here’s part 1 about his experience about the new, canceled Saints Row game before the reboot came and went.
It's pretty obvious that in this video he tries to push any blame on Volition and blame it all instead on Deep Silver. He has been pushing this ever since the Reboot came out, and I highly disagree with this narrative since at least Saints Row 3 Volition wanted to head in this direction with the "lole so random" humor that appealed to Reddit and Tumblr types, and then around the same time they went woke, even stating that Anita Sarkeesian's videos are what convinced them to make changes to Saints Row 4, and that they had already done some Progressive shit in Saints Row 3.
The fact of the matter is the team that worked on The Reboot was not the same team that worked on the first 2 Saints Row Games, and I find it very coincidental that after SR2 came out Mike Kulas, the original CEO of Volition, resigned and his lieutenant Dan Cermak took over, and I remember watching this video where the YouTuber was talking about how Dan was looking to push for all of these changes in the company to appeal to a "broader audience", which we all know what that means.

All and all I think SaintsGodzilla got worked by the whole videos of Volition streaming old builds of Saints Row Games and Saints Row Games that never got released and thought they actually gave a shit about the Old Games and that it was the same people still making them.

yep, homie was trying too hard to blame it on nordic/THQ even though the fucking dev team deepthroated sarkeesian's cock, also rip idol ninja, again.
also the mentions regarding women is probably related to the notes on how to treat nina at 1:03:39

Consoles have nothing to do with “memory limitations,” it’s poor optimization of their engine work.

Unified RAM = RAM and VRAM are shared

So the most common thing you see in PCs is far ahead of consoles, and nu Saints Row was also released on the PS4 and Xbox One, making those the lowest common denominator
Like, developers must ship games that run inside the console's fixed limits, the game must run on 2013 hardware, because if the memory pool is exhausted, the game will crash or never pass certification. You can compress, do streaming tricks, use clever LOD systems, but optimization can't magically conjure RAM/VRAM that just isn't there

Be that as it may, the SR reboot uses a modified self designed engine created by Volition. Agents of Mayhem was projected to have performance issues as well. They would need to know whatever hardware they’re designing for to optimize their own engine.

I don’t want to disagree that the PS4/Xbox One generation was underpowered. I want to point out internal incompetence of why this game was a disaster from the start.

Even from the original pitch, it doesn’t sound like Saints Row. The desert city looks and sounds boring to be in. I like the proclamation gimmick where you could, essentially, add modifiers in your open world through progression.

I think they would’ve been better off redoing a prequel to the original Saints Row.

That was the original concept for Saints Row 2 was for it to take place in the 70s where you saw the rise of the Vice Kings and Los Carnales and why Julius and Benjamin King turned on each other, and the ending was for the Protagonist to wake up from the Yacht Explosion, and Saints Row 3 was to take place in Japan or some shit and you fought against the Ronin who were the people who were dealing vehicle parts to the Westside Rollerz. It all got changed because an animator forgot to add a wristwatch to Julius's model.

Excellent video, but even the early plot of SR Cinco sounds like hot dogshit, just not the abysmal toxic sludge it turned into

The fact the 3 gangs were always panteros, idols, and marshall is also gay. I miss when the rival gangs were actual gangs with personality and not the brotherhood but generic, a commie cult, and a company

While that is a neat concept, I'm still glad we got the sequel that we did. Too bad this franchise is dead and buried now, and we'd better hope no-one ever tries to reboot it again.

Idols or Marshall should have been swapped with a gang reminiscent of a cartel, old panteros seemed akin to a testosteron filled biker gang so they would fit.

Both plots sounded like "lol random" SR3 trash, SR1+2 were impossible to recreate with the people they had.

Yeah, I was going to say how can you have a south western desert city and NOT have a major cartel be the big bad but just default back to futuristic military group like in Saints Row the third?

80/20 rule my ass. That whole thing sounded like Saints Row 3 goofy shit to a t. Would it have been better than what we got? Maybe, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near Saints Row 2.

I remember reading that the inspiration for Saints Row 2's tone was Pulp Fiction and I think that was why they succeeded.

It was over the top, but everyone took it seriously and it never became so goofy that it broke reality. There's nothing like how in 3 you have a gang of Lucha Libre wrestlers, fight a guy in VR, accidentally create an island of zombies, etc.

There really isn't even anything in 2's story that wouldn't be out of place in GTA San Andreas.

I wonder if they didn't do that because that would have been too similar to Los Carnales. Then again panteros were basically Los Carnales mixed with the Brotherhood, Idols were basically the Deckers but even gayer, and Marshall was just Ultor/STAG but they're cowboys.

>Tfw people keep telling you your games are too similar to Grand Theft Auto so you try your best to differentiate yourselves from it to the point the franchise fucking collapses in on itself

Dude talks like a fucking retard
Wait until you listen to that faggot BadgerGoodger, dude has the most blandest and condescending voice you will ever hear and I mute that any time I hear him in a video yet he has a whole fanbase that jerks off to his voice. He was in that Development of Stilwater video that SaintsGodzilla made, and Badger made that video a lot harder to listen to.

The videos about GTA and his own opinions aren't that bad to listening IMO.
