Yes Sam's "stand up" routines have always been for shock value and performance art, which is what makes them funny. I don't think he even enjoys stand up comedy and is doing this tour for other reasons. The stand up is just an excuse to bring the MDE gang back together, get them on the road making money and connecting with their fanbse for the first time ever. It's also to build hype for WP2, which was a relatively expensive production that cost at least 2 mill iirc. The tour is very cheap and requires minimal effort so it's perfect for Sam and his crew.
despite utilising internet for his own comedy, I think his inclination is to chase after what the "prestige" thing to be doing is in comedy, which is TV, stand-up, stand-ups doing TV, stand-ups on TV writing sketches, sketch writer on TV doing stand-up etc etc
That only works if the audience isn't Sam Hyde fans. You can see in the clip it's Sam fans and one guy is even laughing before the punchline. No one is being offended.

I feel like these videos he's been doing recently are somehow making his older videos less funny retroactively.
I think now that Sam has paypigs that will throw money at him no matter what he feels like he doesn't need to try. He's just been phoning it in for the past few years with occasional funny moments like the Candy man. Jet being in this doesn't help either he's just not funny.
Maybe I'm getting too old but I do not understand the point of this video, or the Funko Pop one before it. I mean, ok he's talking shit about Jewish people which is based but not particularly funny and he's throwing a bunch of food in the sand and lighting it on fire with a broken flamethrower while comparing it to various war crimes committed by our greatest ally in the Middle East.

The Funko Pop Fry Up was halfway decent, the wanton lack of safety around that deep fryer and smoke inhalation had a certain charm to it. The lol random Jew name dropping in this just doesn't do anything
