Charles is lucky to be there. Seriously. He has nothing without Sam and I know that hurts him more than anything in life but it's true. He barely maintained a fanbase or did a single project after the "breakup." When people come ITT to say "Charles is actually my favorite" or worse, "Charles is the only funny one from MDE" you can bet they are severely mentally unwell, have horrible takes about anything and everything and will most likely Marky post at least once. That is fact and there's 586 pages of evidence to back it up.
I know a long way back he said he did reading for audio books, I did find one that he did when I was looking it up but this was a lot of years ago. I really doubt that was and still is his primary source of income.
He’s strangely prolific on X and r/bombstrap is the only place to talk about MDE anymore, besides here. I think he could have made it out with a decent fanbase of his own if he clipped and edited videos himself, but it seems like Sam is the only one that learned how to have a personal online presence, which baffles me. I’m talking about just talking to a camera because you had an idea, posting it, and reading comments. You couldn’t even pop into Charls’s streams every now and then because you’d be totally lost, and saying as much would make him hostile. Whang!, AugieRFC, and the latter’s new cohost who does “internet vs” like Charls’ tweets a lot. he’s still friends with Mega64, I think he could have survived the fallout if he didn’t rely on somebody else showcasing him. Sam was also a used car salesman. I think Sam has some legitimate talent when it comes to making investments, and managing people; he was always giving people something to do. However, he indulges that part of himself too much. The amount of ex employees who talk shit about him is a direct result of him plucking out people who have nothing to do with their lives, and recruiting them.

Luke and Ryan felt really awkward sitting together with a shared handheld mic. Especially Ryan who was just quietly and awkwardly mumbling, he was completely different to the clips I've seen of him with Gavin.
