When she visited Japan the Hololive girls who talked about her spoke with strange awe, like she was a superhero kid with hypnotic eyes, etc. The Saba character is something like what she's really like, but cuter and not crippled by autismo anxiety or whatever. Plus she thinks "pandering to lolicons" is funny.

I don't think "pandering" is a good way of describing it. There wasn't an audience out there waiting for or demanding something just like Gura/Saba, and she conformed to their desires, filling that gap in the market. Like there were no teenage girls screaming for Elvis so Elvis arose from the people and took the mic so the girls wouldn't be screaming at nothing. He was Elvis, so they screamed. She's Gura/Saba, so [crying emoji]. Without her, the "irony loli" genre doesn't really exist. (She has some predecessors, like Elvis did, but they're not famous.)

I don't moralfag about lolishit. Some is vile, some is cute. Some fans of it are pedos, but I don't think the correlation is strong (compared to, say, "normal" homosexual men, who are almost all pederasts). Always a great idea to shit on a large portion of your forum’s user base. It’s not like the vtuber thread is one of the most popular and active threads on here or anything.

Null has deep-seated differences with a lot of the communities here, but he also has principles and a dedication to facilitating open discussion unfettered by speech-chilling gayops. While I don't think his current spergout is exactly constructive, it's very unfair to paint him as an enemy when he's done so much work to allow us to come here and actually talk about real shit wrt chuubas.

Like I said, I think Null's tilting at windmills and its caused the Live Talent board to be very annoying the last few days, but a few days of dealing with retards on Kiwi Farms still beats the fuckin' years long drama that was Drop Kiwi Farms and I don't think there's anyone other than Null in the entire world who could have successfully guided us through that.

100% agree, NOT banning people who you viscerally disagree with takes big restraint. If I were in his shoes I’d ban people for way less (like thinking 343 era nuHalo is good).

Also pro vs anti anime (lolis in particular) seems to split the “dissident” sphere frequently (e.g., compare the general sentiment of it between 4chan and the sharty).
