Off-Topic "Scientific" Studies regarding Transpeople

  • Happy Easter!
I can't think of one "cis man" who wants to get pregnant and experience child birth.
Well if a man fantasizes about giving birth and getting pregnant, he usually isn't "cis". He usually can be found chasing the pink dragon in poorly applied lipstick, a taupe muumuu, with a hairline that's retreated back further than Napoleonic Russians.

There are plenty of reasons to be jealous of female anatomy. They can have multiple orgasms (and multiple kinds without having to sodomize themselves). Because of the dynamics of human mating, their bits are considered desirable and they have far less trouble finding dates/sex. Men will actually perform menial labor for them to stay in their good graces in hopes for a crumb of pussy down the road. If shit hits the fan, they can commodify their own bodies to keep food on their tables and a roof over their head. Even "cis" men can see and envy the few advantages women get, but not a single one of us are jealous of pregnancy, childbirth, or menstruation. Those seem like absolute downsides to the female experience.

Forgive me if this is old news at this point, but famously stable trans celebrity, India Willoughby, tweeted this out recently.

The link is here.

The Cass Report was commissioned almost half a decade ago and it is the largest study of trans health care ever conducted, by a senior doctor with an extensive history in youth services.

And some troon thinks he can completely debooooonk it in about three days with a twelve page Word document?

“this was written by well known anti-trans persons using research from anti-trans or right leaning studies so everything in the report is a lie built from cherry picked information! I am the expert! Here’s my cherry picked information from studies that disprove what I say but I know my cult will believe me and they won’t bother reading into anything!”

Sex is binary in humans. They never ask what sex is FOR. The purpose of a system is what it does.
Sex is for reproduction. What we call sex is a mating type. There are only two in humans, and only one of each can naturally make a baby.
Sex is not a spectrum. A spectrum implies variation along an axis. Height is a spectrum in humans. Intelligence is a spectrum.
Sex is not. There are two forms of gamete, sperm and eggs.
All the waffle about clusters of characteristics is nonsense. Sex is for reproduction and you need one male soerm maker and one female egg maker and gestating mother.
This makes me wonder: have there ever been long-term studies done on what happens if you not only don't treat, but actively encourage mental diseases like schizophrenia?
Yes, it’s been running a while now. It’s called society.
The 1.7% claim is wrong;
Great posts - yes it’s wrong and if you want it for your records the rebuttal is here: https://archive.ph/BVKXj
I’ve even seen them claim pcos and hypospadias as intersex. Insanity

It's why autists are drawn to both commie-thinking and gender choice. They love highlighting the outlier to excuse the failure of the masses, and in turn, their own sedentary lives. They take the exception to the rule (like allowing retards to cut in line, or allowing epileptics to bring a dog in a restaurant, or permitting the actually-intersex boy with a micropenis to get testosterone so he isn't laughed out of the locker room when he's 17 and clearly hasn't hit a male puberty yet) and try to bend the exception to where physically normal people can identify into it and talk their way past "gatekeeping".

If sex isn't binary, and "gender identity" is the "best" (though that's bullshit because there's no way to observe it other than taking someone at their word.) way to determine who's male and female, why isn't gender identity a thing with other animals?Seriously, some how we as a species are the only ones who have evolved in a way where sex no longer matters and some inner feeling is what determines male and female? There has never been a study with the title "Male monkey born with a female monkey's brain."(Then again TIPs are moving the goal posts and claiming male and female brains dont exist, but trans women have brains similar to a cis woman.)The only thing I've seen TRAs do is point to an animal with a genetic disorder such as a female lioness born with a mane.Which isn't what is being asked. There has been no study that confirms transgenderism in the sense of an animals "gender identity" not matching their sex.So I ask TRAs why such a concept doesn't exist in other animals, and why we should throw out the whole concept of sex when we can't observe gender identity?

The Cass Review team published this today in response to questions about their study:

There is a smidgen of "I didn't want to set the world on fire" lurking between the lines, just as I'm sure Martin Luther, when he nailed his 95 theses to the church door, didn't want to foment a schism. Yet the world is on fire now, and there's not much anyone can do to stop it. People will look back at Cass as the moment the tide turned, no matter how long it takes for reality to assert itself again.

As for Mermaids, their entire post is one long, foot-stamping whine about how unfair it all is.

Most people here aren't gonna dig through pages of research journals for reasons to win Twitter/Reddit arguments
There comes a point where, no matter how many reputable journals a redditor can produce, you look at the facts right in front of your face and say that an potentially infinite number of scientists don't ever leave their protected academic bubbles and have come to their own myopic conclusions without regard for extrapolation into the real world.

I'll trust The Science when The Science lines up with reasonable explanations grounded in reality.

Furthermore, a lot of "science" that supports the current thing TM, whether it be transgenderism or climate doomerism, involves a lot of sources citing each other in a sort of incestuous circlejerk, rather than looking for the truth independently.

Risk of Suicide and Self-Harm Following Gender-Affirmation Surgery

Introduction

With the growing acceptance of transgender individuals, the number of gender affirmation surgeries has increased. Transgender individuals face elevated depression rates, leading to an increase in suicide ideation and attempts. This study evaluates the risk of suicide or self-harm associated with gender affirmation procedures.

Methods

This retrospective study utilized de-identified patient data from the TriNetX (TriNetX, LLC, Cambridge, MA) database, involving 56 United States healthcare organizations and over 90 million patients. The study involved four cohorts: cohort A, adults aged 18-60 who had gender-affirming surgery and an emergency visit (N = 1,501); cohort B, control group of adults with emergency visits but no gender-affirming surgery (N = 15,608,363); and cohort C, control group of adults with emergency visits, tubal ligation or vasectomy, but no gender-affirming surgery (N = 142,093). Propensity matching was applied to cohorts A and C. Data from February 4, 2003, to February 4, 2023, were analyzed to examine suicide attempts, death, self-harm, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) within five years of the index event. A secondary analysis involving a control group with pharyngitis, referred to as cohort D, was conducted to validate the results from cohort C.

Results

Individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not (3.47% vs. 0.29%, RR 95% CI 9.20-15.96, p < 0.0001). Compared to the tubal ligation/vasectomy controls, the risk was 5.03-fold higher before propensity matching and remained significant at 4.71-fold after matching (3.50% vs. 0.74%, RR 95% CI 2.46-9.024, p < 0.0001) for the gender affirmation patients with similar results with the pharyngitis controls.

Conclusion

Gender-affirming surgery is significantly associated with elevated suicide attempt risks, underlining the necessity for comprehensive post-procedure psychiatric support.

Cohort A consisted of 1,501 adult patients who had a visit to the emergency department and a history of gender-affirmation surgery.

Cohort B consisted of 15,608,363 patients who had an emergency visit but no history of gender-affirmation surgery.

How does this tell us anything about the efficacy of 'gender-affirmation surgery' if we're comparing trannies to normal people and not pre-op trannies? All I'm able to get from this is that trannies rope more than normal people, unless the claim is that having an operation reduces suicide rates to baseline level.

If we're comparing Cohort A with Cohort C, why is tubal litigation or vasectonomy considered a decent enough proxy for transness to use? There are way more surgically sterilized people than there are trans.

This is clearly fake news and reporting this to the admins
The Trusted Science told me gender affirming care is LIFE SAVING and settled science.
I even recommend having the authors' licenses revoked.
Literally shaking

You aren’t wrong. But at the minimum it illustrates that when they say, “Would you rather have a live daughter or a dead son?” they should instead be saying something like, “Would you rather have a dead son or let us perform a dangerous surgery with a lot of potential for long term complications and still have a very good chance of having a dead son anyway?”

Or, “Would you rather have a dead son or a dead daughter?” If you just have to respect the pronouns.
