SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

Well, I don’t want to overstate our influence on these people, but SCP has put the pride logo back up for the first time since 2018.

EDIT: Unrelated, but to not double post.

Remember a year ago when it came out that numerous staff knew Bright was an inappropriate sex pest pedo and so they said that they were going to add stipulations to the site charter about not leveraging your reputation as staff or otherwise for sexual favors? And we called them out as virtue signalers who were only sorry because they got caught?

I do…

Well I mention it because despite everyone on staff supporting it wholeheartedly, I don’t think it got added to the site charter.

Screencaps to archive that it isn’t here, because you can’t transparently see page edits on O5 and because wayback and .today don’t do well with tabs:

It isn’t on the site rules page, the harassment policy, or the comprehensive policy hub. Funny because what is in the charter is that any new policy that is voted in favor for, those responsible for the policy are responsible for enforcing it:

I guess that would be Dexanote/Mann here, since Mann said staff would look into such a change (archive) and Dexanote proposed it & organized the vote.

Why did they never put it up? Did they implement it but take it down? If so, why? Did they never implement it? Did they never intend to implement it? Who knows.

Sure looks bad in my opinion though. Sounds like a question for the Town Hall.

EDIT EDIT:

Here is the list of the policies that have been proposed and mostly implemented after the staff+sexual leverage one was brought up and forgotten about:

Give a round of applause for your SCP staff! 👏

Where KiwiFarms goes, the SCP Staff follows :P.

I am happy to see some backbone for once. Now the real test would be if they stand up to any backlash. I think it’s more likely nothing really happens and they realize they’ve been jumping at their own shadows for years.

After all, it was djkaktus throwing gasoline on the fire via Reddit that really kicked off June 2018, people forget the discontent was relatively well-managed for the first half of the month until they really fucked up the second half. Now that the malignant narcissist is a wannabe puppetmaster influencing his friends in high places behind the scenes instead of having direct access to power, it doesn’t hurt their chances of doing better this time around.

He's not a puppet master, he's not even a wannabe puppet master. He's just a narcissistic dick that likes sales pitches. There's no conspiracy if everything's out in the open and not actually doing anything. Kaktus doesn't have any power over anything official, literally nobody likes him no matter how hard he tries to pretend otherwise because he goes out of his way to burn every bridge he crosses for practically no reason.

They're now confident that this won't blow up in their face, it seems. Let's see if that confidence is justified, or if this thread is about to get a lot of new content.

It’s not a conspiracy like a plan to seize power, it’s the slow process of power-brokering and the place where they hang out is the Yurt, kaktus has a big voice in the Yurt, we made up MAST in there and that’s why they’re the most powerful behind the scenes group. We made a new system and staffed it with Yurt insiders after a their getting into staff and/or being invited into the server and buying into the “Vegas rules” culture of talking openly about various aspects of staff with non-staff (like kaktus) passing around staff chat screenshots and eventually coordinating on how to chart a “progressive” agenda around a slow moving, conservative and reactionary staff hierarchy.
djkaktus has been at the center of that since the beginning. That’s what I mean by my describing his soft power.

I'm honestly really exhausted and tired of this whole "yurt" thing. Not to sound like a bitch or anything, but this really isn't a big deal and I think even you know that.

Please stop, this is embarrassing. I tried to take you seriously, but you've never provided sufficient proof that Kaktus is actually the secret controller of things in the wiki, and it's abundantly clear that you were the only person who ever viewed that little side chat as a political force. Your continued attempts to make this thread about exposing a conspiracy that almost certainly doesn't exist have done nothing but make this thread harder to take seriously when we start talking about actual issues with the wiki and its community. If I was you, I would move on. If you take all the free time you're spending trying to bring down your old friends and use it to do something productive, you might actually be able to land a decent job with that degree you probably took on crippling debt to get.

Why didn't they just add it to the list of things Dr. Bright isn't allowed to do? Much of his behavior was considered amusing and harmless at the time.

I may take the controversial opinion that much of it actually was amusing and harmless, but seriously, suddenly throwing him under the bus for shit that was considered completely okay while he was doing it is peak SCP SJW.

Just went through Kaktus' 6000 entry. God, I whispered "please end already" to myself at least three times during the whole ordeal.

To think just how hollow and full of needless fluff this article is makes me despair. A solid 40% of the article means literally nothing to the rest and is completely unnecessary. There's so many small driplets of content over thousands upon thousands of words... It's infuriating to think just how cool this could have been if someone had taken the time to condense the fantasy exposition and just gotten to narrate a decent story with the actual content. It makes my fucking head ache.

I was initially skeptical about ToS' characteristically acid assesment about the famous character/anomaly cameos, but Jesus Christ, it genuinely feels as if several addenda were chucked in for the sake of having famous characters/anomalies in the box. None of these characters, absolutely none of them have any fucking importance whatsoever. They vomit exposition, they complacently ask questions. It's such an insult to what they were built to be in other pieces, even if the end result wasn't very good. This kinda flies during the first like, two or three addenda, but they just keep coming and they all suck the same.

It just brings me to despair to think I wasted three hours of my life away reading what amounts to nothing. It's all exposition, there is nothing but exposition in this godforsaken bloated clump of words.

That's the worst thing, that they're could be a good story but it's held down by fluff and nonsense.

It’s the sink strainer that collects & coagulates all the leftovers on their way to the drain.

No, I’m going to keep telling the truth thanks, I am not trying to make the thread “about” it by virtue of bringing it up where it becomes relevant. I was in there for years and I know what we were doing, I helped make it happen.

You're pushing on a string if you think anyone is going to believe your conspiracy theories without proof, of which you have none.

@Punished “Venom” pH I just want to know what anyone gets out of this. There's no money, scp is nowhere near as big as it was so cultural power isn't there, like what does anyone get if they take over SCP other than a massive migraine.
The Yurt may be myth, but the desire of someone like Diet Rounderhouse to claw their way to power again by any means necessary, though absolutely amazing in its uselessness, is believable. Planned political coups have happened. I know it’s retarded, but you have to understand that self worth is directly pegged to reputation on that site, and this here is the equivalent of stopping a bleeding cut to a guy who thinks he’s the local Xerxes. Things are so backwards there, I genuinely believe that these people would pay exorbitant amounts of real money for upvotes, if the service existed and they had it to spare. It’s that bad.

It's happened before in other communities. Getting "power" on the internet is easier than in real life, so some people will go to insane depths just to feel like they're in charge of something. I have no doubt there are some people like that at SCP, but there is simply no proof a comically evil shadow cabal of nerds is puppeteering SCP from behind the scenes.
