SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

Wordswordswords does not equal quality.
Again, that was not the point of what I was saying. That being said I definitely agree that many of the greatest articles written on the wiki are simple and fun. Dragging any text on without having anything to say is arguably the worst thing an author can do, however, as with a password locks; There are only so many successfull combinations before the password needs to get longer, which is one of the reasons, as the years pass articles on the wiki tend to get bigger and more complex.

The novelty of the early SCPs creativity and simplicity has worn off and can't be replicated anymore just like you can't shoot a silent movie about gears and expect to perform as well as Charlie Chaplin

I know this isn’t a recommendation thread, but I recommend checking out SCP-5000 if you’re bored and have 20 minutes. I think it’s pretty solid.
It used to be, for the first few pages or so. Also, giving a link and a brief description would help. For example:

SCP-5000 is less about an individual object and more the story behind how the Foundation got it. It comes from a reality where for some unexplained reason (though possibly related to SCP-682), the Foundation at large suddenly begins a genocidal war against the human race, mainly through the use of various Euclid and Keter-class SCP's. The story is told through the logs of a Foundation member who was not affected, and who has stolen an anomalous object which protects him (the SCP-5000 in question) as he travels to different Sites while trying to piece together just what the hell happened and what, if anything, can be done about it.

It has over 2,500 upvotes, and it's earned them, IMO.

There’s a really good Reddit write up for those of you who don’t have the time to analyze the finer details. Hold on, I’ll find it and link it here.

Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/SCPDeclass...urce=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Reddit isn’t good for much but this is a stellar summary/analysis

Also, it seems that WikiDot is now unavailable in Russia & Belarus due to the recent supposed attacks, as well as the current state of affairs surrounding Russia. I do not have an archive of this page myself due to it only showing in Russian territories, so take this post with a grain of salt until we can get a concrete archive posted.
Great job retards. It won't be long before their shit is cobwebsites like what is left of ED.

Interesting. So this supposed Foundation agent Samuel Ross is actually 682? I still don't get how the fuck that happened.

And on top of that, 682 LITERALLY DID NOTHING WRONG?

More like he has the same mindset as 682 (apparently), as do the rest of the affected Foundation personnel.

I'd toss a puzzle piece at the guy who did the writeup, personally. I'm not onboard with the whole "pain and empathy are all just protective measures caused by an external entity AND THE FOUNDATION FIGURED OUT THE TRUTH MAN FREE YOUR MIND" crap.

Meh. It's just some monster who torments souls in the afterlife.

The best one is the floating camera in the Sopranos that reveals we're all living in a simulation created by a demon pretending to be god. The fictional movie within a movie thing was hella cool.

The thing that kinda ruins it for me is basic logic. Empathy and pain are literal biological mechanisms evolved out of necessity. Our literal only chance at survival as a species was cooperation and a sense telling us when we’re doing something stupid. Pain is literally a result of Darwinism. Anything smart enough to avoid shit that causes pain probably made it up to this point. Empathy and pain are compelling forces literally bred into humans via natural selection. Without any impulse or compelling drive to collaborate, we’d still be banging rocks together in caves and trying to fistfight grizzlies. Like bro how tf did humanity exist before this alleged entity came along without completely destroying itself anyways?

Now I'm imagining Tony and the crew trying to explain SCPs to each other.

"See, Ton, it's like this fuckin' sculpture that kills ya if you ain't looking at it. Ya gotta keep an eye on it all the time or it'll do ya quicker than Vito goin' through a box of sfogliatelle. Hehe."

"What the fuck, Paulie? And you're telling me they wouldn't just take a fuckin' sledgehammer to this thing? Get the fuck outta here."

"Nah, you can't just hit it with a hammer, Ton. Don't work like that. Hey, look at this one. Some creepy old fuck who can pop outta walls and snatch people and leave 'em looking like this. That's some spooky shit, huh?"

"Shame he ain't real. We could get him on the payroll, send him out to take care of business. Put those Atwell Avenue fucks outta their jobs."

"Ay, guys, what about Chrissy's nose? That thing should be one of these fuckin' SPCs, huh? Only nose in Jersey that lets a man smoke in the rain with his hands tied behind his back!"

IIRC 173 was written in 2007, so this conversation is now canon.

'Keetah-class schnoz ovah heah!'

'Keetah? It's KEH-tah, you fuckin' idiot'

'OOOOOOOOOOOHHHH'

5000 is great, though it's definitely more a tale than an SCP. I can't throw stones in a glass house though, my favorite is 093 and the actual SCP object is the least interesting part of that one.

I remember listening to a reading (well, it's more of an explanation thing than a reading) about SCP-093 and it was actually really investing.

Always has been.

On an unrelated note, one of the shittiest nu-SCP trends I've had the displeasure of coming across is a format where the actual fucking SCP document (...ya know, the thing that gives low-level researchers a summary of what the anomaly is and how it's contained so that they don't fucking die while running routine tests?) is hidden behind pages of bullshit I don't care about, like so. Not only does this make zero sense in-universe, it's also garbage writing, because the description and containment procedures are supposed to be the hook that makes me want to read the rest of your article. If you're starting off with bullshit addenda and don't even make it clear where the fuck the actual SCP document is, at that point just write a fucking tale you dipshit.

Imagine being a poor researcher getting pulped by an SCP and you have to desperately skip through pages of unnecessary text to get to the actual containment procedures.
