I can't remember the guy's real name - pretty sure he was doxed earlier on in this thread - but is there any way to get him to stop using the 'Bright' handle on Tiktoc? He's 100% using it to gander attention from impressionable preteens and teens.

While no one person can claim credit for taking Bright down — it took a ton of people over several years — if
@Punished “Venom” pH hadn’t got triggered and re-pissed off by social media personalities on Twitter and TokTok using the DrBright character for popularity crumbs, and in some questionable ways, then Bright would not be banned today. The case was cold and dead in the water, and there was little reason to believe another attempt wound lead anywhere.
Harmony compiled the information from this thread, along with added snippets of that 15-million-lines-of-chat logs dump from last year. We had a contact point on staff who brought it to the rest and advocated for us, who will be glad to remain nameless here I’m sure; something I'm happy to respect because this person has my respect. I’m not sure if it was the newer, more clear-headed generation that did it, or the fact that the info took an alternate route up the chain of command this time.
The only new data were supplemental snippets from the chat log dumps. Most other things, as the staff says in the ban post, were things they had seen before. This is funny when you consider that staff have a blanket harassment permaban locked and loaded for anyone who shares or engages in chat leaks, especially theirs, even if those logs are legally public information (in the US), as was the case with these. While obviously well-intended, and potentially protective of innocent people, I hope it’s clear how ultimately insane this approach is, and what a muzzle it is on whistle-blowing and addressing corruption in the community. In the worst hands, this rule amounts to official, perpetual, and draconian protection to the most dangerous sort of person.
The most amazing thing to me was that there were a handful of staff members who were shocked to learn of things that this thread had posted
years ago. That's to say nothing of
the wider fandom, which if you look at some comments, also could have no clue (
archive). It basically came down to repackaging the publicly available information in a non-KiwiFarms wrapper.
The documentation and evidence collected in the report proves without a doubt the old leaders of the anti-harassment team knew the depths of Bright’s sexual deviancy and his manipulative, predatory nature. It was not a coincidence that the anti-harassment team’s staff structure was re-organized when Bright’s scandal first erupted in 2020; the people at the top knew. They lied about knowing. They got their staff members to censor statements and evidence to the contrary. (Like it or not,

The delay and the reluctance of the community to listen to those lepers who were trying to tell them something important are responsible for the safeguarding and perpetuation of Bright's presence & behavior, and for several years more than what was necessary.
This is a very big message; if you listen religiously to other people’s fundamentalist warnings and threats to not engage certain data sources due to sheer political partisanship, or threats of group exclusion, without having the spine or independent mind enough to check it out for yourself, you will be years behind the informational curve, and sometimes by design.
The Twitter response to this incident shows in-community people celebrating (even those utilizing the DrBright character), and offering their own evidence and stories of alarming behavior from Bright. It seems as though few were willing to speak up until the work had been done, and the threat of potential social consequences gone. It is not a coincidence that the culminating actor in getting Bright banned was herself already banned, and in an AHT fashion no less. That’s what it takes, to make an omelette; and very few embedded within the rampant social ladder-climbing of SCP have the guts to speak out when it matters most.
Bright is the first domino in a long-standing line of tenuously moral people who have wallowed in their relative luxury, and leveraged their information plantation of political insensitivity, entirely too much.
