SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

The SCP wiki has a bunch of built-in themes for you to pick from. There's an entire "subculture" of idiots there who work on making them and then brown-nosing the admins to have them included. This is why so many new pages look like modern web 3.0 eyesores. Not using one of these is a great way of having your article rejected. Even if your article is a bloated Tumblr fanfic just like all the others, just using the default Wikidot look means the site's mouthbreathing brigade will label it a "1000er" (i.e. in the vein of SCP-001 through SCP-1000), which for them is a derogatory term.

Oh, and you know how certain pages have an LGBT or trans flag logo all year round (and not just during pride month)? That's because most themes also have a "pride version" which authors may choose to signal their commitment to the cause. I'm sure that articles that do that also get more favorable treatment.
All hope is lost. I must be retarded because I can't for the life of me find where the theme switcher is, in fact that's why I asked because I wasn't aware you could switch and thought it was just Mary Sue article fuckery (which I guess is technically correct). If it's not at the bottom where switchers usually are, I check the top, but the top only has the navigation bar?
Fuck them, I like the default Wikidot theme, it's much easier on the eyes, Verdana is a fallback system font for a good reason.

There is no theme switcher. It's something SCP authors include in their articles which appends a different CSS file to their page.

Articles like 093 Red Sea Object are a good example of how you can still weave a compelling narrative while sticking to the format of an SCP article, but that would be too hard for the self appointed arbiters of what's good at that pozzed fucking joke of a wiki.
093 is actually incomplete on that site, whoever has a way to contact the admins might wanna tell them to doublecheck before to original is inevitably raped.

tl;dr: It's the logo of an SCP site, draped in pride flag colors. Any attempt at changing the logo, including (especially) altering or removing the pride stripes, causes all SCP personnel to not recognize the logo as official.
No, I shit you not. That is the actual SCP article. That's all there's to it. Currently at +71.

Oh wait no, I lied. That's not "all there is to to it", because the article continues for another 3 pages, with a goddamn Tumblr persona talking to you, as a reader, and presenting the obligatory overwritten stageplay ("transcript") about a bunch of self-inserts talking about this utterly pointless SCP. Complete with an entire paragraph of political soapboxing about gender and sexual identity and the historical context of the LGBT flag! Wooo! Isn't SCP fun?

This might be one of the worst articles I've read in a long time, and this is coming from the sort of masochist who actually reads through new SCP pages, in 2023.

I am not surprised or even disappointed anymore. I am just dejected. Demoralized, even. This is awful. This is like a parody of what nu-SCP is like. It feels like a joke written by some right-wing RPC sperg in 2018. But no, this is real.

What a fucking shitshow.

EDIT: As a side note, I recently found the ED article on SCP. It's surprisingly good for a modern ED page, really hits the nail on the head when it comes to the problems with modern SCP.

Wow, there's an actual character in this named "Mr. McDoctorate". High effort, quality fiction indeed. This is what removing the toxic 4channers from the site was all about, you guys.
Unsurprisingly all the characters are written with the same snarky, smartass manner of speaking like you tend to see in shitty modern comedy TV. Really goes to show the author's extraordinary writing chops and his tasteful sources of creative inspiration.

Wow, I can't believe they made Tumblr into a memetic hazard.

I don’t really have an issue with 093 itself, but it being as popular as it is has been a massive negative influence on SCP as a whole. It’s one of the earliest examples of the formula where the SCP object itself is really just an excuse to segue into the writer’s worldbuilding project that has very little to do with the original anomaly or even the wider SCP universe. If it was one of the only ones it wouldn’t be a problem but holy fuck has this formula gone stale REAL quick, especially as the articles get ever longer and the concepts and writing quality gets ever worse.

In hindsight yeah, I can totally understand your point. While it stood out at the time for its uniqueness, it was certainly a terrible precedent that's just been expounded upon until we have reached the absolute joke state of the wiki today.
SCP died a long time ago, the thing we see in its place is just a ridiculous pozzed cliche wearing its skin.
There's almost no connection to the original concept other than the name of the wiki.
It's dead, killed like so many sites/fandoms/hobbies before it, by sexual deviant troons.
Despite how many examples there are of this shit people keep letting it happen.
Once you let the men in dresses get a foothold, it's over.

And I thought the entity that just changes trannies to their preferred gender and Literally Just Donald Trump were the bottom of the barrel...

I bet if you fed ChatGPT the original first thousand and a decent prompt it would write better SCPs than these worthless degenerates.
SCP-6969
Object Class: Safe

SCP-6969 is a altered version of the AI Chatbot Chat-GPT whose anomalous properties have shown to materialize certain entities depending on how the user and Chatbot outputs their messages. Certain tests have shown SCP-6969 materialize plastic figures, food and other creatures (including entities that don't or have yet to exist in our own world.)

SCP-6969 is kept in a 2017 Macbook recovered from [REDACTED] in a small room on floor C-15 of the SCP Foundation.

On the topic of 093 vs modern “worldbuilding centric” SCP’s, the one thing I hate the most is the “conveniently preserved primary source exposition dump” that Kaktus loves to use, and has also made its way into Rounderhouse’s CoBG/Daevite reimagining 001’s. Like, it’s totally convenient that these millennia-abandoned ancient cities just so happen to have a sole survivor that has all the answers to the Foundation’s questions. That totally doesn’t undermine one of the main appeals of the format and ruin any possible sense of mystery.

If 093 were written today, instead of slowly piecing together the history of the world behind the mirror through evidence gathered during multiple expeditions, the Foundation would just find a monster/survivor/AI (probably a troon) that spews exposition at them.

I mean this just puts the capstone on the fucking pyramid of dung bricks that is the LGBSCPHIV+
The people who were pointing out the retarded and immersion breaking nature of a faceless beurocracy that sacrifices hundreds of prisoners in experiments caring about pandering to the HIV Brigade totally vindicated basically.
The guys that broke off that said the rot would just spread have been proven right.
Look at this ridiculous shit.
If this had been included in Metokur LGBSCP video as a parody a few years ago the faggots at the wiki would have screeched and pissed and bitched how it was "ludicrously unrealistic" and "hysterical" over a "simple logo swap just for Pride month."
And here we are.
It would almost be tragic but I lost all interest in the SCP except as a wiki of pretentious lolcows that think they're the fucking Dead Poets Society a long time ago, so I'm just gonna laugh and say eat shit you faggots, Kondraki was right.

Follow-up:

I decided to look up the author of this SCP page.

harryblank.png

First thing to note is that "Dr. Blank" from SCP-7056 is not just a name placeholder (i.e. literally blank) as I initially thought. It is a self-insert. HarryBlank loves inserting himself into everything. So much so that he actually included an entire section on his homepage where he proudly lists articles and tales he's written himself into. The list is not comprehensive. Yes, this guy fucking loves himself that much. His most recent tale, released a couple of days ago, is literally just him wishing himself a happy birthday. Current rating: +43. This is where the SCP wiki is at.

Interestingly, he mentions on his profile that he is a professional historian. He also says something about being a politician from Quebec, but that comes off as a stupid inside joke.

I didn't go full autism and read through this guy's entire posting history, for precisely one reason: The guy is a prolific writer, in the same sense a sewage runoff pipe is a prolific dispenser of human waste. He has shat out some ~100 SCPs and tales in just under three years. That amounts to roughly one new SCP or tale every 10 days. Would it also surprise you to learn 95% of his articles are overwritten, boring trash that uses the SCP format as nothing more than a vehicle for his "addendum", "log" and "interview" short stories? The few exceptions I could find just skimming through his "recent contributions" page are unfunny joke articles and memes like SCP-5977 and SCP-6263.

Some other notable articles are SCP-5054-EX, an extremely unfunny article about an obscure Canadian PM; SCP-5729, an entity that only Dr. Blank, being so super-duper special, can interact with; and SCP-6965, about the anomalous anti-fascist properties of left-wing folk musicians like Woody Guthrie.

Harry's tendency to self-insert and overwrite is best seen in his work on Site-43. Site-43 is located in Canada, and hey, what a coincidence! That's where Harry lives! He's written an entire sub-canon set in that site, complete with a fuckton of super-original characters. SCP-7056 is just one of the many literary abortions adorning Harry's little bonzai garden of retardation.

Oh, and check out this lovely gem I found among his contributions. I couldn't be assed to actually read it, but skimming through it I realized it's self-insert erotica. No, seriously. It has almost nothing to do with SCP. It's literally just Harry imagining himself and all of his favorite Site-43 characters fucking each other. Something tells me this guy isn't married.
At least the DeviantArt-tier drawings that accompany it are good for a laugh.

That last one is supposed to be his self-insert.

At the end of the day, Harry here is just one out of the many bottom-feeders that occupy the SCP wiki's rotting corpse like a bunch of maggots. He is unfortunately not the exception, but the rule. I'm sure HarryBlank is notorious among people who actually delve into the behind-the-scenes bullshit that happens on the wiki, but it still amazes me this horny retard managed to secure himself a position as a wiki administrator. The complete lack of standards on display here is appalling.
For a short while back in its earliest days, the SCP wiki was full of parasitic morons like Harry. But around 2010-2011 they started cleaning up their act and by 2013 have booted out all the narcissistic weirdos. But now the cancer has recurred, and has developed a built-in immunity to all criticism by hiding behind an impenetrable shield of political correctness. Because worthless halfwits like HarryBlank submit articles like SCP-7056, they are here to stay. Anyone who disagrees is a bigot.

Can we make an SCP based on this keter class faggotry that has taken over the wiki, fandom, and overall media IRL?
Whatever this memetic SCP is, its beyond containment.

In all sincerity, SCP-586, something that literally just mkaes you misspell words if you write about it is better than pretty much any of the Nu-SCPs to be shat out in recent year.

I remember the indescribable object scp. What the fuck have they done to its page? Why is there a picture of the pope glowing like a glownigger?
