I don’t think that’s the point of the site. There’s a reason they ban self inserts.
I will never not be amazed how the staff of the SCP wiki doesn't realize that this is a problem. Sure they banned Bright, but Bright was a symptom of the larger issues that affect the wiki. They literally just went back to the old articles that mention him and replaced him with, Doctor Lachlan Cairns. The wiki staff have already gone back and edited or changed entire articles, if they're willing to do that then the least they could have done is actually remove Bright's OC, renaming Bright is less than the bare minimum.
Kaktus, and the rest of the staff can say how much the site has changed from series one, but they've learned. The actions they took ensured nothing except for the that that there will be another Doctor Bright. The problems with early SCP still exist, blatant fetish articles, self-inserts and cape shit entries. Both uninteresting murder monsters and now excessively upthemselves articles that don't even try to stick to the format. J-Series being included among actual SCPs, like 4444. Not to mention excessive lore shittery that try to connect to every other SCP, need I mention the 049 rewrite?

See, I think the concept behind Bright was interesting; a medallion that houses the soul of a staff member and he has to possess someone every so often, etc. So I wouldn't want to see them get rid of that itself. But all the other bullshit about Bright and the stupid articles like, "Things Dr. Bright isn't allowed to do"? Yeah get rid of that shit.

The funny part is Bright is still mentioned in piles of articles and stories, I found a few the other night, but wikidot's search is so shit you'll never find the lions share that way. Meaning you'll have to lean on the 'lore experts' to get them all. Which is a lol in of itself.

It will never change because the current writers actually like that stuff. They love zany self inserts, they love deep universe expanding lore that constantly implodes on its self, they love gooning, they love both OP end time monsters and UwU cuddly misunderstood monsters, they love not sticking to formats and most of all they love clichés (I was recently listening to the exploring series just to have something new to listen to and holy fuck are the stories so hacky). You can never divorce SCP away from that stuff because it is too ingrained now, you need to start fresh with a new IP.

Enlighten me, I haven't really paid attention to the behind the scenes stuff of the wiki.
It's not the worst rewrite, but it got a lot more long winded. I do like how they removed the section of the original article which is just a stealth connection to 035 and the Alagada/Hanged King hub, but in return for removing what I felt like was a weak point of the article, the rewrite became a lot more narrative focused including named researches and now having two links to story hubs, and two links to stories.
It's still better than the Kaktus version of 049, which ends in a stupid oc monologue. That said, I think the narrative focus makes the 2028 draft of 049 sill feel too much like an oc with the added logs. Basically, it didn't solve the issues of the original 049, its just wordier now. Really there are probably worse rewrites, 049 just feels indicative to me of nothing really changing. Sure it's better written by some measure but the same problems are there and we've arrived at the same destination (035 and Alagada).

This motherfucker got so salty that his favorite characters from some obscure manga (Getbackers) were getting their ass kicked on VS threads that he decided to mindrape people. Seriously, read this shit:

Wait a minute. Are there really large communities of adults who argue over who beats who in a fight like we did back when we were children in fucking elementary school? Who the fuck cares?

Well, you did at one point, you just admitted to it.
It started out as just some literal elementary school bullshit for fun. Theorycrafting for the sheer sake of it, nothing more. But the internet is what it is and everything becomes some variation of Serious Business if left to marinate in internet born mental illness long enough.

Another thing that annoys me about SCP is the way the researchers behave in a lot of the articles. A lot of swearing and unprofessionalism. Yes, of course, people are human and are not going to be hunky-dory 24/7, but it takes away from the sort of "shady overseer" sort of role the foundation plays. "Official" reports in most organizations are going to be professional. It just screams, "Hey look I'm allowed to swear on the internet! Look at how cool and edgy I am!" Basically like me when I was twelve years old playing Animal Crossing and thought it was so funny to give swear word catchphrases to villagers.

Reading this thread for posts I missed makes me depressed, hateful towards trannies (normal), but strangely hopeful for RPC's success.

Never heard of power levelers I take it? It can be entertaining at times, but the peak of it being Death Battles since those are at least decently animated at worst. Some takes it too seriously, like actual children, but many aren't so incredibly autistic with it and try to have some fun with it. The example I was going over is the former, a captain autismo if you will.
Fuck, I wanted to hear his narration of it but it's a channel member only video. Guy is still cool and the only SCP guy I respect now (used to be TheVolgun too but recent events changed that very fucking fast). Also he made that post a tweet as well but his Twitter gets traction, shame how the only guy worth watching is largely niche.

I was rereading some series I SCPs that I liked for a trip down memory lane and had 354 among them, the mysterious pool of blood that spawns all sorts of various hostile entities.
And I completely forgot that a regular indian man is among them lol

I quite like the red pool myself actually. The supposed expedition to the otherside was quite interesting and adds to the mystery of it. Outside of that I think my favorite scp proposal is the 001 When Day Breaks proposal. It's like that episode of courage the cowardly dog with the snowmans melting but amped on steroids.

I love the expedition log for it, it was the main reason I was reading this specific SCP again.
I remembered some line about an eerily empty flat landscape in an alternate dimension where carbon dioxide is a liquid and the day/night cycles are unsually long and had to look it up again.
Expedition logs like this are also why I love 087 and 093 as much as I do.

Honestly it saddens me how scp was so co-opted because it has so much potential. I always get annoyed because yes every group is gonna attract dick heads but then the other side acts just as bad. I just wanted good content. You never hear this shit about static shock or justice league unlimited but then we get to the wider internet and people making their own stuff and community and all of a sudden it turns into politics and goes right down the fucking shitter. God I miss being a kid. I used to take up every morning just to watch static shock because it was so fun. No forcefully shoving politics down your throat with a feeding tube. Even if it had a message it wasn't delivered in any kind of patronizing and/or threatening way. You just got to enjoy stuff and digest it in your own way. That's what makes me so sad about how scp went because it used to be that to me. That magic that existed as a kid when you could just enjoy something good and have fun in the process. Can't even have that no more.

Ah I remember that SCP, one of my favorites, but I completely missed the Indian part. Truly the most evil creature to come out of that pool.

You and everyone else here, what's worse is that it just won't die. They keep puppeting the decaying form of what was so dear to many people and then call you evil if you complain about their actions.

I believe that's intentional, to turn people again eachother no matter how big or small the community. At least at one point it was, not politics is so enwrapped in society that you how to scorch earth any mention of it and whoever brings it up when it's not needed. Sadly the people who bring it up in everything are the sacred cow of the first world, meaning it'll just end up demonizing you and everything who associates with you. I'm ok with being demonized, but too many innocent people who make a single comment might end up losing way more than they should...

Corruption of anything that doesn't promote their propaganda is their bread and butter, you can't hate them enough.
