I think his political articles are meant to appeal to the widest possible range of demographics so that they always come across as woke without seeming Problematic™. Basically the Overton window. He knows the SCP community leans left, so he cashes in on that cop-hating. With 9/11, he knows pretty much anyone has strong feelings about it regardless of politics.

I think staff just jump on any chance to take advantage of a controversial person. It's easy for staff to cover up their mistreatment of someone if the community already dislikes them for different reasons. While I don't like Kinch's overall approach to these topics, I agree with this Tweet of hers:

This post is intended to provide a longer overview of Mitchell Louis Peters / AdminBright / capnduckman / TheDuckman / _Duck_ / iamnotadamnedmonkey / TheArgentOne / talljacksoe. Bright has been notably mentioned in other posts here, here, and here that I've found.
As many are aware, Bright is a shining star of sex positivity who has been influential in the SCP Foundation, Renaissance Faire, and BDSM communities for about a decade. Bright has a butch lesbian fetish, prefers new partners on the younger side (to say the least), and currently identifies as "gender-chaotic." Bright loves meeting new people, so here, we'll let "them" introduce themself further:
According to him, he's got two wives, Jennifer and Katherine, Katherine having been a girlfriend to the couple before getting married in later. (This is something he told me privately, which I assumed was true, but someone pointed out that it may not be legal.) In 2018, another user here mentioned a time that Bright had joined a small RP and proceeded to act like a lunatic (bolding mine):
Back around 2011-2012, someone on LiveJournal made a roleplay game based on the SCP Foundation. This wasn't anything for-profit, or claiming to be an official part of the SCP Foundation, it was an insignificant roleplay game made by a few fans. Bright found it, and asked if he could join as Dr. Bright. The creators, excited that someone who was involved in the actual wiki wanted to play in their game, said yes.
It turns out he really didn't care about playing in the game, and his intentions for joining were to keep it from becoming "stupid" or straying too far from SCP canon. His entire presence in the game was one tantrum after another as he tried to play canon police and tell people that they were doing it wrong. In the end, he threw such a big fit that culminated in him telling people that Dr. Bright was going to kill their characters because they were stupid characters that would never be part of the actual SCP Foundation that the creators just said fuck it and closed the game. He went crying to another LiveJournal community about how the players in that community just don't care enough about SCP Foundation canon, to which the response was an overwhelming "why do you care?"

A different user took the time to go through almost two years of his FetLife 'likes' and concluded that he primarily likes pictures of cisgender women, and a large majority of the pictures he likes otherwise are non-sexual images. While this isn't damning in and of itself, it matches up with common accusations toward him and with my personal experience in that community.
I had wondered where his "gender-chaotic" thing came from, so a while back I Googled that phrase. The first results on Google Images were just nerd jokes. He basically picked random words he saw in a meme and said "yeah, these kids will fall for this shit."
While many people reported his various inappropriate behavior -- especially involving/around minors -- to his fellow SCP administrators over the years, staff always look out for their own and no action was ever taken except his eventual 'retirement.' (More on that in this post, as well as context for who I am.)

Another user took the time to make a cringe compilation, which includes him overlaying little kid voices (not great combined with... everything else, especially kink-related posts like this), doing various duets with people, showing us his chaotic living area, and other clownery.
