SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

They opened their yearly survey. It seems to be edited quite a bit from last years. Unfortunately, there are only two free responses and the input is limited to one per account. Seems they wanted to leave enough room for trolling.
They still have a field where users can submit things they would like to see changed about the wiki, but I doubt they'll listen to any suggestions regarding the actual problems with how they run the site.

Oh man, I used to love SCP Series 1. Seeing the site devolve into drama, lame ideas, social justice and pretentious assholes trying to write novels is the worst.

EDIT: In particular the one about some super tunnel and a book that goes on for six pages and a hidden one, and invents its own threat level. Shit's dumb.
If it makes you feel any better, there are still people writing shorter articles with more emphasis on objects instead of narratives, they're just harder to find. Weryllium is well-known for this, and I'd recommend reading some of his stuff if you want some works with a Series 1 feel.

The GOC are full of cishet white men, obviously. :story:
Hilarious when you remember one of the GOC story arcs involves a trans individual who underwent a magical ritual to completely and utterly transform him into a woman.

But then, I have weird tastes in my fiction, I just don't demand to cram it down other people's throats.

According to this http://05command.wikidot.com/forum/t-13994144#post-4890470 DrMagnus, the man, the admin himself, is resigning from staff. Guess all the shit with Cerates and other staff finally caught up with him. One less pedostaff. One less.
Well, that didn't take long. I was expecting him to stick around for a bit longer after quitting the Technical Team, but I guess he's just done. We're down to five active Administrators now. I'm tempted to predict some new Admins next promotion cycle, but I don't see anyone they're likely to promote going down the list of active Mods, except maybe Aismallard but it hasn't even been a year since they were promoted to Mod so I doubt it.

Predicting Dexanote and Soulless are next to leave. They are useless to staff and have been dropping duties left and right. Wouldn't be surprised if they put DrBleep or Lilyflower up for admin though. Pedostaff are scrambling behind the scenes, everyone can tell. Shame SCP has gone this way.

In other news, a new contest has been announced. Doubt you lot would care about it, except for the fact its about "Romance" so I'm expecting some pedostaff to toss in some smut pieces.

LilyFlower doesn't do much, and Bleep was promoted to Mod too recently. They tend to only promote consistently active Mods who have been around for at least a year or two, and even then it can sometimes take ages for them to get around to it.

Thing is, they don't really need many Admins to run the site. The Administrator role on Wikidot doesn't have that much more power than the Moderator role, and there aren't too many things the Admins do for the wiki that the Mods can't. There always needs to be at least one active Admin to manage site applications, and a Master Admin with cash to keep a Pro Account on Wikidot for the extra file space, but other than that I can't think of many things Admins are absolutely needed for. They're always slow to promote more Admins because Admins are almost never urgently needed.

If we're still talking about articles where the actual object takes a backseat to the narrative then here's a pretty egregious example.

TL;DR: The author hated an existing article (This one, specifically.) so much to the point they made an in-universe propaganda piece against it.

God forbid if they promote Corvus. Though I figure he's too abrasive for admin. His calmer counterpart, Taylor_Itkin, y'all remember this pedo/pedodefender, right? He may show up, one in the same for pedostaff. I don't think they're scrambling to promote someone, but I'd like to speculate.

Now, I agree that 1168 is an obvious A-Log, but 1800 is also kind of questionable. It's an AWCY Skip with all the pretentious art-hipster bullshit that entails, and it feels like one of those "men are psychotic rapists" kind of things.

I'll be very surprised if Corvus is ever promoted to Admin. A lot of people don't like him because he's a massive asshole all the time for no reason, and staff tend to only give Admin to people who are at the very least inoffensive. Taylor might be put up, but he's 20 according to his Wikidot profile, and staff don't like to give Admin to people in college due to how it can interfere with the work they do for the wiki. I can't name a single Admin from the past 8 years or so who wasn't out of college when they were promoted to that position.

I wonder why Corvus is still part of staff even if their influence is confined mostly to chat, especially considering that they've removed members for being dicks before in the past.

I thought it was pretty decent until it got to the part about the men being significantly older than the women. THEN it got to that.

The fact that the men were explicitly those in positions of authority with a wife and kids is what got me questioning it. Felt like one of those “unleash your true nature, you vile man!” kind of thing

Kinda unrelated but this is a good opportunity for me to bitch about non-drama related SCP lore shit. But I've always hated how AWCY has some guy named "The Critic" who controls the whole thing. The idea of such a movement having a leader, even a figurehead one, completely goes against the idea of AWCY being a collective of pretentious artfags.

I've also always hated how Robert Bumaro was turned from some random Broken God sect leader who looks like a completely unassuming historical
white dude into a fucking prettyboy anime cyborg who's now the immortal leader of the entire Church. The appeal of the SCP Foundation is the idea that it's something that could exist in the real world; SCP isn't a fucking anime and it really shouldn't try.

i'm sorry but what the fuck

also 1800 is some retarded feministy shit and 1168 is at least funny. Seriously though until it got to the profle sections, 1800 just sounded like some really dark fucked up humor, but the "actually money is bad and men are bad and women are victums!!" shit ruined it.

nevermind the last part of 1168 also makes it retarded

When you put 1800 like that it sounds like the woke crowd would love it. But nope, they dislike it because "eeww, rape is icky and taboo".
