Nah you have a point there. Unfortunately though, sex perverts in online communities is nothing new. SCP staff is complicit for Bright, but that's old news now and no one seems to care about it anymore. When you look at something like Tran Ranch, you know that's a bomb just waiting to go off, but SCP feels more like a car that will eventually run out of gas. Which is fine for me, because watching some of the threads on community watch just make me depressed after a while.

If you're posing as some kind of literary police, basic literacy is actually relevant to that claim. Not having any clue what a word like "penultimate" means and then misusing it blatantly in a bureaucratic fuck document reveals you as an idiot.

It isn't just being a grammar Nazi (and there is nothing wrong with even being a grammar Nazi).

It is revealing yourself as incompetent to be in the position of authority you are claiming as someone in charge of a supposedly literary project.

This thread is a watch party for the slow punch of implosion that is happening at SCP. It didn’t start out documenting weird/funny sexual behavior and predators. That took 3 years. The outing of Bright was the culmination. Down time is a good thing, and this is the only place people on the internet people can collectively air their criticisms about SCP. If you expect the thread to retain that level of operation or be continuously about the sexual activity of the users, you’re going to have a bad time.

Just grab some popcorn and laugh a little. There’s plenty here for that.

If you go back to ancient times, this thread was originally made to discuss the wiki articles people liked (edit; well i went back and checked and the OP was about some weirdos, but early convo was more into the content). It’s more apt to say the thread devolved into discussing shitty staff and the deteriorating culture as the wiki itself devolved into being unable to manage its internal problems. Maybe the most apt to say it devolved as the staff became unable to hide those problems from public view.

I’ve got nothing for the guy who misused “penultimate.” Pretty embarrassing when the site takes a such a draconian approach to people whose writing hints that they’re not native English speakers.

See if you want to satirize them you have to use their nomenclature, they usually don’t actually lock posts they just say “staff post - closed post” and that means nobody is allowed to respond. They can’t actually lock sub threads I think it’s only the whole thread or not at all but I could be mistaken on that.
