in procoys defense I can personally attest that everyone he doxed was an annoying piece of shit who deserved it
Being vaguely annoying doesn't warrant having your private information released online, especially not to known predators and people with exceptionally low moral consideration.

i was witness to many of these cases and none of these people were being 'vaguely annoying', they were all being explicitly annoying and sending death threats and joining irc on vpns after dozens of ip bans

If I was trolling the wiki, I would probably view being doxxed by Procyon as an achievement. If I've pissed off the worst high-ranking staff member so much that he's willing to look through birth records to find my personal information, I'm doing something right.

Sorry to return to my double-posting ways, but I have actual content for this thread now. I finally got around to looking in SCPD, and this conversation happened today. The short version is that a user named "Counter", who has been around since 2013 but has low Wikidot Karma, started downvoting some entries to the 2021 Jam Contest, and the authors took notice. What followed was an analysis of this person's account, activity level, and voting history in an effort to rationalize their downvotes. This nicely demonstrates a couple things:
SCPD Screencap 1.PNGSCPD Screencap 2.PNGSCPD Screencap 3.PNGSCPD Screencap 4.PNGSCPD Screencap 5.PNG
1. The obsession with votes runs extremely deep. These people feel personally attacked if you click the - button on their articles, and feel the need to manufacture a reason to dismiss your opinion, even if you don't actually bother to make your exact opinion clear with a comment. I know this has already been discussed at length, but I feel that it needs repeating.
2. Despite what they say, these people actually do value and pay attention to Wikidot Karma. If you have no or low Karma and you downvote something they write, they use that as an excuse to disregard your vote, even though the Karma system is easy to exploit and doesn't actually reflect a person's knowledge or experience with the wiki.

The things these people will do to protect their egos, it's pathetic.

this is astonishing. sometimes i lie awake at night wondering what these people have going for them in the real, physical world, if anything at all. what drives them to be so obsessed with some obscure, beaten down, barely functional wikidot domain to the point that they stalk some rando's profile because they inputted one of two rating options on one of their 10000 pages. i suppose one could say the same for any social media platform but there it at least make a little bit of sense because social media is actually mainstream, this is literally getting mad over internet points on a creepypasta wiki.

What drives them? I can tell you that easily. Mass validation, fear of missing out, social surrogate addiction, opinion approval, public security, posses, you name it. It's addictive and obsession-forming.

Exactly this. You could probably do a graduate-level psychology study on the ways in which the rating module and upvote trackers have affected the minds of SCP writers.

Or a pile of wet shit.

Motherfucker probably just decides to check out SCP after having not thought about it for years, doesn't like the newer stuff and slaps down a few downvotes and these guys start obsessing over it.
What a bunch of babies. If they don't like having a rating system get rid of it.

Long post warning. The chatlogs are fun because when it comes to names, the search doesn't result the people typing themselves, only when others mention them. This is a fine way to find a bunch of shit-talk per user. So we'll start with the obvious, everyone’s favorite to hate:
Kaktus appropriated Clef's self- insert as stolen valor to include in his 4K contest entry (now SCP-4444). He does this for all the big self-inserts and then likes to put his self-insert right next to them... jr gets to hang out with the men that way. Clef hasn't rated that 4K entry any one way and hasn't explained a no-vote in the comments. Maybe Kaktus wonders what he thinks. Well, here it is:
<Roget> I think it's going to be a two man peppersghost/kaktus race
<Clef> god not kaktus
<Clef> kaktus's article just makes me fucking cringe.

Dexanote shitting on one of his 001s and his wannabe-novelist style in general:
<Dexanote> Broken God 001
<Dexanote> its SO SOLID
<Dexanote> until it kaktuses all over itself.
<Dexanote> and goes too fuckjing long
<Dexanote> and has the mechanical woman i don't give a fart about
<Dexanote> dont care you blew your load with the ultraweapon from jupiter using Hyperbeam on an incomplete mechanical god
<Dexanote> you and i need to do something about a trend i do not like
<Dexanote> bloated SCPs
<Dexanote> 3000 is too long. Too much chaff that bloats the quality.

Is there any drama that has happened on the wiki that doesn't involve Kaktus being butthurt cause someone didn’t like one of his articles?
<Dexanote> Since Decibelle resigned.
Dexanote is legitimately happy she did so
<Dexanote> thank you Kaktus for being a crabby shitmonster
<Roget|VideoJames> ???
<Dexanote> kaktus pissing Decibelle off enough to resign administration made it so I didn't need to approach her and convince her to step down
<Dexanote> kaktus clumsily accused/was checking to see if Decibelle was asking me/other admins to call a stop order to a guy, after a guy gave crappy feedback on stuff
<Dexanote> Kaktus was seeing if Decibelle was asking for a stop order... bcause the guy had given a shitcrit to one of Decibelle's friends pieces (Kate's i think?)
<Dexanote> Decibelle got angry because holy shit kaktus
<Dexanote> kaktus left mid-conversation without saying another word
<Dexanote> Decibelle resigns from admin

And yes, he asked to come back to staff:
<Roget> I know something about that but I thought kaktus had resigned and did not wish to return
<Roget> when he came to help the wikiwalk team he wanted to do it on the down-low
<EldritchCadence> Kaktus has asked multiple times to be returned to staff.
<EldritchCadence> He told vezaz and I when he visited us.
<EldritchCadence> Both Troy and moose.
<soulonphone> Kaktus wants to be jr staff again
<soulonphone> This was done in private to me
<soulonphone> He stated he wanted to be on rewrite, one of yours, or one of mine
<soulonphone> Rewrite is not taking jr staff
<Roget> I'm working with rewrite to curate test logs better, maybe he could be a part of that if M_E were willing to add a JS for a purpose?
<soulonphone> M_E does not want him on jr staff under him
<Roget> That is a pickle
Kaktus being let in by Decibelle to the admin-only chat (#hatrack... remember this is what Roget told Decibelles she didn't have the authority to do anymore) to do his best Wormtongue impression :
<Decibelle> KAKTUS HAS MY PERMISSION TO BE HERE
<djkaktus> Hey guys.
<djkaktus> Roget: here's what I want to pitch to you
<djkaktus> I don't like meta
<djkaktus> And i dont like sarkicism
<djkaktus> But
<djkaktus> Fishmonger's scorched earth policy created a cult of personality for himself. We still get people asking about the things he wrote, and it's been what, eight years?
<djkaktus> I would advise moderation. Do something that diminishes meta's impact on site culture by writing him out of it, but don't let this thing that has grown so much larger than him be pulled up root and stem.
<djkaktus> My point here is
<djkaktus> Sarkicism is not metaphysician.
<djkaktus> Sarkicism has many authors and is now part of the collective site canon
<djkaktus> Meta started this, yes. And many of these offending articles are core tenants of that canon
<djkaktus> But removing them would diminish sarkicism as a whole, which I don't think is fair to those who haven't done anything wrong here
<djkaktus> It's pretty tropey stuff. It's as derivative as anything else here. The Canon as a whole can be maintained with little loss.
<djkaktus> This solution would make you look just and fair. Ban a user who plagiarized a work on this site, but spare those who would be negatively affected by those works being removed entirely.
<djkaktus> Let rewrite change his name
<djkaktus> Change references to the offending material
<djkaktus> Let this serve as an example of how the admins aren't black and white on this, and can see the difference between a collective effort by many authors and the singular sin of one.
<djkaktus> We do need to make sure he doesn't delete them before we can make sure everyone knows this is the action we're taking, and why.
<djkaktus> So lock his pages.
<djkaktus> Do what you need to do
<djkaktus> And then ban him.
<Roget> I don't think I want to take an authors power to self-delete away even if they're a shithead, until we finalize what we're doing
<djkaktus> And that's fair, too.
<djkaktus> You don't need to rewrite policy yet, or at all.
<djkaktus> You just need to give yourself time.
<djkaktus> And, as usual
<djkaktus> If you need anything just ask.
Kaktus + June 2018
<Roth> Mhm, reddit was a bit of a loose cannon. Thankfully now though Kaktus has stepped down.
<Roget> yeah this is a good opportunity to axe reddit's autonomy
<Roget> I wanted to do that for a long time but never wanted to deal with the resistance it would get from the established mods
<Roget> now we don't have that problem

<weizhong> I don't miss modding the sub
<weizhong> It was a shitshow then, probably even worse now
<TombGames> the sub is a shitshow
<TombGames> trets is taking the brunt of it
<trets> With Kaktus cowboy-copping everything, I have to cover for his actions or else we'll dig our hole even deeper.
<weizhong> trets: Yeah, that was.......not great

Here he blames his fallout not on his indiscriminate permabanning of anyone who disagreed with him, but on the ppl he banned:
<djkaktus> I'm sure magnus barking at her about snapping at the RPC guy didn't help
<Ard> i'm not going to blame magnus for that
<Ard> the rpc guy is getting written up anyways
<djkaktus> Honestly, I am. I don't understand why we're being so sensitive about calling these dudes out. After everything kinch has had to deal with, I'd think she'd earned some slack. [Kaktus offered her upvotes as consolation... kinch accepted. As we saw, this was traumatizing for Kak and kinch not just because of the political discrimination, but because of what it meant for knich’s upvote average and if staff will act on preventing a raid from achieving that.]
<djkaktus> But maybe not.
djkaktus shrug
<Ard> we already cut kinch a bunch of slack for snapping at these guys a bunch of times
<Ard> plus CFO has been perma'd and we're going after the rest of his goons already
<djkaktus> I guess my question is, why is snapping at somebody bragging about malicious downvoting a disciplinary action?
<Ard> It's not. We didn't even write her up - we literally just said to close the discussion
<Ard> Magnus said 'please stop engaging with these people' and kinch chose to leave
<djkaktus> Ah. I assumed that, since I was just recently written up for it, she would've been as well. [Sorry Kak, not enough oppression points in the bank.]
<Ard> we're running around trying to put out a dozen different RPC-related fires a day
<djkaktus> Honestly, you're being too diplomatic about it.
<djkaktus> That won't work against these fucks.
<djkaktus> A hard ban on anyone subbed to the RPC wiki for continued aggravation and then silence.
<djkaktus> That's how you do it. [This guy was trying to be an admin.]
<Ard> What the hell else is there to do? We got LGBSCP and RPC because we went scorched earth with bans
<djkaktus> No, we got both of those things because we changed the logo colors. [Thicc]
<djkaktus> And because I defended that action on the subreddit [Let me define “defended” here. As we all know, Kaktus permabanned anyone who raised concerns or had an issue with the logo, something the rest of staff later admitted was legitimate. Kaktus disagrees. He reflexively stereotyped them & told himself they all must be bigots, epitomizing the behavior he was banning others for. He has endorsed this as the correct move numerous times since.]
<djkaktus> But what did that really achieve? Kicked off of staff, asked the leave the moderator team, buried under more shit than any of you are worth [Kaktus later says he stepped down willingly. Maybe he stepped down from r/scp mod but was kicked out/asked to leave as a SCP mod? It’s confusing and not clear. Yet Kaktus bans his old friend Joreth for repeating this same line later on...]
<djkaktus> Hung out to dry for it. [Refusal to take responsibility for his actions = a victim complex. He was hoisted by his own petard. The only betrayal here was in his expectations; the lack of glowing compliments he probably thought for sure he’d get from the site for acting like this.]
<djkaktus> In retrospect, I would've kept quiet and let them do whatever they wanted. [Why? If banning the bigots was the right thing to do? Bc it’s about his brand.]
<djkaktus> It changed nothing. Speaking out changed nothing. [Technically that’s not true LOL.]
<djkaktus> And i got no support for it. [This is the rock-bottom of his self-awareness.]
<djkaktus> Nobody made these dudes. They've always been there. They were just looking for a catalyst. [Same could be said of you, ol’ kak]
<djkaktus> And that catalyst was the logo. [His blanket response became more of an issue than the colors were. It was gasoline on a fire.]

Less publicly, Kaktus banned more than just conscientious objectors on r/scp to an out-of-left-field official political endorsement. As I said, he banned Joreth, a good friend and co-author of SCP-3000, from his exxclluuuuusive #kaktuskontainer chatroom because the friend said the same thing Kaktus did about the terms of his departure as a mod:
<djkaktus> .tell Joreth if I see you say "djkaktus was removed from the mod team" again this will be way less amicable than I had originally intended. I don't know why you changed your tone two hours later, but don't do it again. [A quote, just a few lines above: “[I was] asked to leave the moderator team” - Kaktus]
<Jarvis> djkaktus: Sent.
<djkaktus> His initial statement was correct.
<djkaktus> I decided to deuce out so the rabble would calm down.
<djkaktus> It didn't help, but I didn't think it would. I just wanted the mods who hung me out to dry to deal with it themselves. [So he willingly gave up power knowing it wouldn’t do anything? Hm. Sounds odd. It wasn’t bc he thinks this is the right thing to do bc he said he would go back & do it differently if he could. What is more precious to him than power or morality? Ah, reputation. He took flack for being in a visible, authority position, the executive chef in the kitchen, then got pissed that no one wanted to join him in his tirade, and then bailed immediately when the reaction got too hot. All that heat might smudge his make up. Admin-material.]
<djkaktus> Turning around and then saying "he was removed" is a lie, and nearly an outright betrayal. [“Kicked off of staff, asked the leave the moderator team,”]
... and later on...
<Joreth> ARD: why am I banned on kaktus kontainer

<MobileMagnus> It's spilled in to the wiki with downvote and comment brigade.
<Modern_Erasmus> Twitter was actually the worst offender [Bright did the same thing on Twitter that Kak did in r/scp. Great minds think alike.]
<MobileMagnus> 2721 was locked comments and page.
<Bleepandroid> Roget the twitter and the sub were at fault
<MobileMagnus> Twitter started blocking people.
<Modern_Erasmus> On the sub it was mostly just Kaktus being his usual dickish self a week ago
<MrAnakinSpecter> Modern_Erasmus: well yeah that's just normal kaktus
<MrAnakinSpecter> why the fuck was he a moderator ever?
<Roget> He asked to be one iirc
<Bleepandroid> Kaktus as good of a writer as he is, its more than clear now he should not be in positions of authority.
<weitoobusy> Kaktus fucked up
There is a trove more commentary from staff on Kaktus + the logo. You get the idea. He stepped down from r/scp because his public stock was plummeting. He can paint that anyway that he thinks makes him look better. Because of the mandates of his own ego, he did and still has to think that what he did was virtuous, when in reality it was imperious. Still doesn’t get it to this day.

On "The Vorehole":
<Cyan|bed> good direction? not enough jizz, I worry?
<djkaktus> I'll make a few edits here and there, but honestly that's pretty obvious. If people can't figure that one out, I don't know what to tell em.

Re: his O5 Theme for O5 Command:
<Taylor_Work> No, we cannot use something on 05 command made by Kaktus
<Taylor_Work> Who was literally fired from staff or whatever [LOL BAN HIM]
<Taylor_Work> Modern_Erasmus: we cannot ever use something Kaktus made on 05
<Leveritas> Why not? Should piss him off
<Taylor_Work> It would look
<Taylor_Work> So horrible on us
<Taylor_Work> Are you kidding me
<Taylor_Work> We would be spitting in his face as *staff*, not as annoyed people
<Leveritas> Fiiiine
<Leveritas> Spoilsport
<Croquembouche> what's kaktus done?
<Leveritas> Croquembouche: Existing.
<soulonphone> Croquembouche: a lo
1<soulonphone> Lot
<Modern_Erasmus> I mean, it would probably give him an ego boost if anything.
<Modern_Erasmus> Mind, I was mostly joking
<Leveritas> Modern_Erasmus: Ah that's right, never mind.
<Taylor_Work> Modern_Erasmus: its the same reason we aren’t going to do Nu. [Sorry, YURT.]
<soulonphone> Croquembouche: do I need to go over the history of the universe of Kaktus’s interactions with staff
<Taylor_Work> At the end of the day we aren’t going to adopt it for many reasons but association with Kaktus is definitely one iirc [dat toxicity]
<Taylor_Work> And I would be really, really surprised if anyone was ever in favor of using a theme Kaktus made on 05 without 1) consulting him and 2) realizing how dumb an idea it is
<soulonphone> Croquembouche: I’m genuinely unsure if you’re ignorant on the exact and myriad ways Kaktus has soured his interactions with staff
<Croquembouche> I am joking, aye :P
<soulonphone> Croquembouche: Okay, thank you for clarifying

A "twofur" - Kaktus and Diet Kaktus. Did anyone know that Kaktus swept up Rounderhouse shortly after he joined the site to be his Mini-Me? Now why would he want to do that I wonder...
<fieldstone> Kaktus is just high profile because he's a diva
<fieldstone> And packs his articles with flashy shit
<Modern_Erasmus> Roget: ngl I don’t want rounderhouse on rewrite
<Ard> fieldstone: you know kaktus is like, the highest rated author of all time right
<Ard> Dude blew away Gears a few months ago
<Tuomey> ARD: yeah but I would've forgotten him by now if he didn't keep being a dick
<fieldstone> Just that he wouldn't have the reputation he does in the community if he posted and logged off to pet his cat afterwards
<Ard> You got me there
<Modern_Erasmus> And I don’t trust rounderhouse to do this job
<Ard> I want to like kaktus but he’s become absolutely caustic [bad lapdog, bad]
<Ard> Rounderhouse’s biggest flaws are that he idolizes kaktus and that he’s too sarcastic for his own good
<Tuomey> rounderhouse does seem to want to do better
<Ard> He does, but he’s got a long way to go on that front
<Roget> He's definitely got growth potential
<Tuomey> but he needs to stop humping kaktus' leg if he has any chance to improve tbqh
<Ard> In less than a month I’ve gotten like two complaints about him from other staff
<UncleNicolini> ARD: ive tried talking to him about the kaktus worship, he didnt take kindly to it
<Ard> I think he’ll straighten out, he’s a fundamentally good kid who’s just star-struck by djkaktus taking him under his wing
<UncleNicolini> but re: rounderhouse as a whole, i will go to bat for him any day of the week. give him a task and he will do it, no matter what. he just needs to learn to shut his mouth [under kaktus’ wing indeed]
<fieldstone> I like him a lot personally, he's really nice, but i also see him going off a lot and he strikes me as a flunky of kaktus'
<Ard> That he is
<fieldstone> Which i thought was my own bias and am surprised to see echoed
<Ard> I am unsure how to fix that issue though
<Ard> fieldstone: djkaktus Snapped him up early on when he joined the site
<UncleNicolini> lets be real here kaktus is a shitty role model. rounder is a smart kid. he'll figure it out sooner rather than later.
<UncleNicolini> but it doesnt hurt to nudge.
<Ard> Mhm
<UncleNicolini> ive been nudging him where i can.
<Ard> Props

ETC:

<MrAnakinSpecter> ugghh kaktus
<MrAnakinSpecter> gotta have the last word on everything
<MrAnakinSpecter> "my brother is autistic so i can joke about it"
<MrAnakinSpecter> can't make this shit up
[that’s a ban for anyone else btw]
<LadyKatie> I think he wants to standardize css across all wikis
<LadyKatie> I know for a fact it won't fly here
<LadyKatie> It'd piss too many people off and cause a kaktus tantrum that you could only get me to deal with again for money
<LadyKatie> I'm serious when I say you would have to pay me to put up with a kaktus tantrum again.
<MobileMagnus> Understandable.
<LadyKatie> The last one was while I was at work and while I couldn't deal with it at the time it ate up my afternoon

<taylor_iOStkin> 9:20 PM <djkaktus> Dunno if this will really go anyway, but I'd like to request that staff blank the recent comment on 049 that describes me as, and I quote, "a disgusting waste of space"
LOL

Kaktus, annexer of other’s upvotes, destroys his reputation with staff further in his drooling pursuit for more:
<ProcyonLotor> can we tell kaktus to stop trying to force bad policy in 19
<Tretter> What's he doing now?
<Modern_Erasmus> trying to convince me and quik to let him rewrite 008 apparently
<ProcyonLotor> oh, just you know, trying to get us to abandon our long standing principle of "staff don't get to randomly decide when shit gets rewritten"
<Roget> I'm also a little put off by his campaign to rewrite every old scp, 049 had enough blowback that you'd think it would be cause for pause
<DrBleep> And staff don't dole out rewrites of random articles.
<Roget> I'm just saying that kaktus was already mad about the blowback form that I'm surprised he's going off on more adventures in that avenue
<DrBleep> Its kaktus
<ProcyonLotor> but people seemed less... horrified by kaktus's proposal than they damn well should have so I'm skittish
<Modern_Erasmus> .tell wrongjohnsilver heads up kaktus is asking to rewrite 008 again, apparently because Lee byron revealed he was the porter so the author is unknown. Per standard policy and ethics, I don't reccomend making an exception just because it's now under staff "ownership."
<Roget> ProcyonLotor: it's easy when you're an author as high-profile as kaktus to pitch "hey let me fix up this old so-so article" to the rabble wihtout them thinking about the consequences
<Clef> pushign what?
<ProcyonLotor> "let's allow rewrites of articles with unknown authors"
<ProcyonLotor> "despite them having a +468 rating"
<Clef> :|
<Clef> If it were just, "Let's fix a few grammatical errors and such," I'd be fine with that.
<Clef> It's never just that
...
<Tuomey> > “Arguments: You may dispute the actions and opinions of anyone, including staff, as long as you do it in a calm, mature, and civil way.”
<Tuomey> someone put this in raised latters on a hammer
<Tuomey> then hit kaktus with it
<Tuomey> he's being a shithead
<Quikngruvn> Shocking.
<Roget> glorious
<Tuomey> Quikngruvn: no, seriously, I'm not pleased that people are willing to entertaing his bullshit in the chat like this.
<Roget> Tuomey: it's easy to see why, for people not in staff position it's simple to present it as "I want to fix this old article that has quality issues why won't anyone let me do this good thing"
<Tuomey> That's not my issue
<Tuomey> My issue is that he's being a dick about it
<Tuomey> In a manner disruptive to the chat
<Roget> okay I was tabbed out and it is definitely getting disruptive I didn't even see him taking a dump on soulless like that wtf
<Tuomey> Even if he did continue himself, we're Staff partially because we can avoid the impulse to reply to stupidity in stupidity-perpetuating ways [see Kaktus’s mod resume]
<Roget> Quikngruvn: https://pastebin.com/SURWzmt4
Tuomey sighs
<Tuomey> whatever I guess
<Roget> he's continuing to be an asshole to soulless next to his pitching
<Soulless|Dreamin> ^
<Lily> We do not need to change the first 10 skips
<Soulless|Dreamin> And no one's saying shit about it
<Tuomey> don't engage idiots when they've acknowledged they're being idiots
<Tuomey> Soulless|Dreamin: I'm not saying he's not being a shithead
<Lily> Honestly I feel kaktus just wants the upvotes from them [You’re only fooling yourself, Kak.]
<Soulless|Dreamin> Tuomey, dude literally said "I'm done" and then kept talking about it anyways
<Soulless|Dreamin> he clearly was not done
<Tuomey> That's him being a shit
<Tuomey> But whatever, I'm outvoted here
<Roget> yeah but being a shit specifically to soulless as part of a pattern of behavior of awfulness that has been going on for a period of time
<Tuomey> Which he should really have been banned for a while back
<Tuomey> But some people like him I guess
<Soulless|Dreamin> Tuomey, also people like him because people want his respect
<Tuomey> I don't care why people like him
<Tuomey> We're all in agreement that he's being a shit, just not the specific thing to do about it
<Quikngruvn> kaktus is telling me his side of the story.
<Soulless|Dreamin> Quikngruvn, I literally have logs of the things he said
<Soulless|Dreamin> if you want 'em
<Tuomey> I'm already in agreement that he's being a shithead about this and should be banned, soul
<Tuomey> Kaktus walking all over staff, kaktus trying to rewrite every fucking thing, kaktuscontainer and its fucking cliquey bullshit, kaktus yelling at Tuomey's friends including Soulless, kaktus' general attitude, kaktus thinking his harassment gives him a pass on everything, kaktus disrupting 19, people engaging with kaktus instead of banning him, and out of character
...
AbsentmindedNihilist, kaktus was talking about how he feels 008 should be rewritten despite its high ratings because high ratings are not an indication of quality [Ah. We see the flimsiness of Kaktus’ stances, the selective cherry-picking for when they benefit him. This is the only time kaktus will make this argument. Otherwise, he goads his upvote totals to everyone and thinks they are proof that his stuff is great, see his author page.]
<Modern_Erasmus> Soulless|Dreamin: honestly just avoid getting into convos with Kaktus
<AbsentmindedNihilist> that is probably the wisest move

<Clef> Kaktus is a lot of good things, but he was a shit moderator.
<Tuomey> I think a lot of why kaktus is angry is because he knows he was very close to being able to make the changes he'd like around here at one point and he ragequit over a decidedly minor mistake - which was overturned very shortly after
<SoulAtJob> Tuomey: he is right to be furious from his hurt, but otherwise, whether or not he can stomach the blow to ego is up to him, for that is its own pain
<Tuomey> Whether we begrudge him makes no difference
<Tuomey> He begrudges us
<ProcyonLotor> I can't even remember why he quit
<SoulAtJob> ProcyonLotor: which time?
<ProcyonLotor> uhh, the big time
<ProcyonLotor> from staff
<SoulAtJob> We didn’t make him quit staffchat
<SoulAtJob> We booted him from staffchat
<SoulAtJob> Partially after he metaphysician issue
<Tuomey> ProcyonLotor: Quikngruvn banned someone after GW complained about someone saying gringo
<Tuomey> djkaktus quit almost instantly
<Tuomey> because the place is "too sensitive"
<Decibelle> the first time he stepped down was -
<Decibelle> yes, that
<SoulAtJob> He never quit staffchat permanently
<SoulAtJob> He was informed he was unwelcome
<Tuomey> the ban was overturned very shortly afterwards because gringo is not really a slur, GW just has good personal reasons to not like it directed at him [This is a theme. Like with meta, who eventually got banned, when things don’t go his preferred way, Kak storms out in a temper tantrum instead of just wisely waiting for the future to prove him right.]
<SoulAtJob> He had many minor leavings including the gringo part but he always came back up until we straight up told him he was no longer welcome
<Tuomey> SoulAtJob: that was when he quit /staff/
<Tuomey> Not 67
<SoulAtJob> Tuomey: he quit staff due to personal reasons
<DrBleep> I kind of remember when he got booted from 67
<Tuomey> I was literally there, Soul
<SoulAtJob> From his mod position he left for unspoken personal reasons
<Tuomey> He quit saying the place was too sensitive now
<SoulAtJob> Tuomey: yes and I spoke with him later in private
<trets> That happened in like September, I think.
<Tuomey> "Personal reasons" was what he said later
<Tuomey> And maybe he had other issues, sure
<SoulAtJob> There were personal reasons involved, this does not ignore that he basically dumped his position and ran [Another pattern it seems]
<Tuomey> But the [gringo] incident was the snapping point
<Tuomey> I'm going to sound like a dick but I'm glad he did before he made admin - I don't trust a ragequitter in that position

<Clef> someone is apparently sockpuppeting as kaktus
<Clef> either that or it is kaktus acting like a fucking moron
<MrAnakinSpecter> i like that they're calling him "Cucktus"
<Tuomey> Roget: kaktus also has kind of a history of doing dumb things and flipping out at people when he shouldn't - even when he's right. Where you there for the whole thing, from when kaktus joined to after it was over?

<Clef> oh goddamn it Katksu
<Tuomey> sounds like he's in an anime
<Clef> he may as well be
<Clef> yeah, I'm kinda glad he's not an admin
<AbsentmindedNihilist> clef can you imagine
<Tuomey> I am SUPER GLAD
<Tuomey> the whole reason he left staff made it clear he wasn't fit

Stopped at Site67, 6-14-2018. Didn’t even make it to 2017 before I hit the character limit. There’s plenty more where this came from.

Is Kaktus AWARE of his reputation?
Any form of negative criticism sails clear over his head because he subconsciously deflects it. In his eyes, Kaktus is incapable of being criticized, he's perfect and does no wrong. If he has a bad opinion or does something bad, and it gets outed, he instantly changes his view and never addresses it as if it never happened.

Like with meta, who eventually got banned, when things don’t go his preferred way, Kak storms out in a temper tantrum instead of just wisely waiting for the future to prove him right.
Just so everyone is aware, these chat logs are strikingly similar to how 40 year old women in entry-level office positions create workplace drama. Often, their tasks are so menial and mind-numbing that they turn to gossip as a means to entertain themselves, which leads to the entire office talking behind everyone's back. Not saying kaktus doesn't deserve the scorn, but SCP staff just can't seem to keep their mouths shut about the smallest things.

Cut due to character limit.
It just keeps going, and going, and going. You could publish a novel the size of War and Peace consisting of just chat logs of Kaktus doing shitty things and staff complaining about Kaktus being a reprehensible human being.

And yet, Kaktus has never been banned. Despite it all, staff have never actually thrown him out, because the rules don't apply to you if you're big enough. They would actually rather deal with all of this than just tell him to fuck off, because he's got a lot of power/influence and has a large clique behind him. I wonder if they think it's been worth the trouble.

I don't think this is the case. They very clearly want to ban him, but know the fallout would be too much to handle, so they don't.

He's in this unsavory but entirely self-inflicted position of being either quietly or very loudly disliked by almost everyone who knows him for more than what he wants his audience to know him as; what the average user gets out of the show. Even his sycophant and yes-man ARD (the real talent behind SCP-3000 imo), who comes to his defense almost always — even behind the scenes — and who is the closest thing he has to a friend in the whole mess, has to stifle a queasy lurch when confronting the scabby underbelly of his character.

But yeah staff won't get rid of him because they know he has pull and it would cause a tantrum the collateral of which Harmony can only fantasize about. He’s been leveraging that for years.

Ruling class cowards. Is it any wonder they harbored Bright despite the obvious signs?
