They have every model of GM you can dream of besides this, even some that were just concepts or Gundam game only.

I'm kinda partial to the GM III myself, it's like they finally settled on a design that maintained the classic GM look but gave the impression of being far more durable than it's predecessors.

Oh lord have mercy, this is the game I’ve been wanting all along. Any emulators you can recommend to me?

PPSSPP

Savestates can crash on occasion, normal saving works fine.

The english patch translates everything save the unit/character profiles.
Amazing, there’s probably nothing on the profile I can’t get from a look at their wiki pages anyways, so thank you!

Going to do another level soon but since I've been trying to get all the low level units to save me agony later, got 15% complete on my mech catalog, and I got awarded the character the G Gen exclusive character Brand Freeze.

He's a decent combat pilot, nothing too stand out about him, but given he's the cliche effeminate high pitched fruity dude, I find his voice annoying.

And now it's time for another level, and I'm sure @Jaimas is gonna love this, it's got Gundam 0083 with the very first episode proudly represented, Gundam 00 starring Ali-Al Saachez, and those assholes from Victory Gundam were thrown in for some shits and giggles, with bonus Turn A and Gundam Wing cameos.

Now let's begin:

Stage 2A: Gundamjack

We start this level following that scene where Captain Eiphar Synapse and the Albion get shot out of nowhere at Australia's Torrington Base, and as he tries to get a lock on the firing point, that when he has bigger problems as the Gundam GP-02 Physalis is jacked out of the Albion, with the hijacker cutting right through the Albion's hull to abscond with his prize.

That guy is who, you ask?

Stage2A.jpg

That's Anavel Gato, a man who Sieg's Zeon and doesn't afraid of anything, not the least of which some cowardly Feddie bastards.

Anyway, he busts his ass out of Albion and hooks up with his buddy Gaily and the rest of the Zeon backup ready to cover his escape, but the Albion isn't just sitting there with it's thumb up it's ass, as this guy sorties out to take back the GP-02.

Stage2B.jpg

This is Kou Uraki, a rookie Feddie pilot of the GP-01 Zephyrantes who is ballsy enough to take on a guy so badass he has the nom de guerre "Nightmare of Solomon".

Synapse tries to tell Uraki to let the other nearby MS teams take on Gato, but Kou says he's closest and he's already engaged in combat.

Gato admires Uraki's guts, but laments he's a greenhorn.

With that, the stage begins, and you can deploy your ship either above or below the Albion, either is fine, just make sure that regardless of your choice, you have some fast movers who can pin down Gato fast, the Challenge point depends on it. If you got a Booster and stuck it on your ship, it can help in this mission, as you can deploy even closer to Gato's starting position.

Stage2C.jpg

Getting the base condition is really really easy, but if you want the secret, Kou and Gato's FIRST battle encounter must involve Kou using a Beam Saber attack, which means you need to pin Gato down with your units to let Kou get close enough. Do leave some near the Albion, though, phase 2 of the stage will depend on it.

Gato's support are some Dom Tropen and a Xamel, all artillery and long range capable. Fast units can run rings around them all.

As for the Albion, just turn it to face the left side of the screen, you'll understand why later.

NOTE: You CAN kill Gato if you want, even with Kou's attack, but he'll still escape.

Anyway, once Kou and Gato cross blades, Gato's relief shows up:

Stage2D.jpg

And that's when Setsuna F. Seiei shows up to dick that plan over:

Stage2E.jpg

Gato is pissed, realizing he'll have to haul ass the hard way now, but before Setsuna can help Kou stop Gato, Ali-Al Saachez shows up to cover Gato's escape, and he's downright giddy Gato could start one hell of a war:

Stage2F.jpg

Setsuna is all 0_0 over who is riding in the red Agrissa Type 13, and Ali is all "I remember you from when I saw you in Krugis (as a child soldier), so you grew up".

Setsuna is pissed, as this sick son of a bitch was his leader back then and tricked Setsuna into murdering people in the name of God (which Ali didn't even believe in, he just used that as an excuse to watch kids kill people), and thus Setsuna wants Ali's head:

Stage2G.jpg

Since Ali is just stalling the Albion and crew to cover Gato's escape, this is actually easy to fulfill either condition, as Ali will keep using his energy draining attack on the Albion over and over again, leaving you free to whittle him down and let Setsuna kill him, but it will take a few turns for Setsuna to get over to him. Meanwhile, your other units can pick off Ali's AEU Hellion PMC reinforcements.

If you got the secret, Sochie Heim shows up in her Kapool, and with some Kapool reinforcements, Ms. Hothead goes after you as training for the Militia.

You can take her down and snag the extra Kapools for yourself.

Also, while annoying, detail a fairly strong unit to hang around where Setsuna started out, phase three gets a lot easier if you do.

Once you take down Ali with Setsuna, phase three begins with some Victory Gundam BS happening off past where Setsuna was, with Usso Ewin having just jacked a Zolo from BESPA, a former Federation weapons R&D facility now under Zanscare Empire control, and one of their officers, Chronicle Asher, he's more than a little pissed Usso stole his test unit.

If you got the secret, Lucrezia Noin shows up in her custom Aries along with some regular Aries as backup, and she's not really choosy who she shoots at, so take her ass down, you can capture the spare Aries for your own forces. She appears right behind where Ali was, so presumably he fucked up her forces earlier, she wants payback, and she's so pissed she's not taking any 'hey, we're not your enemy" for an answer.

Aries are nothing to panic over, so just pop her ass.

As for the Over Impact condition, Usso has to shoot down Chronicle in 4 turns from when he appears, which is why you'll want a strong unit to help whittle Chronicle down so Usso can finish him off. Otherwise, it's a pain keeping Usso alive long enough as Chronicle and his wingmates will all dogpile Usso.

And Zolos are pretty hard hitters. Worse, Usso is piloting a Shokew, which is basically a gimped Zolo.

Your former allies will all turn on you, but if you are close to the Albion, sustained fire on it's weakpoint will net you a capturable GP-01. Setsuna's Exia will also crumble before long range fire, and you can pretty much make a skeet shoot out of Usso and any remaining Zolos.

Once that's over, that's it for this level, but for you Gundam 0083 fans, you'll see a lot more of it in later levels.

Just an update on secret characters

At 20% mech registry completion, the game awards you Loni Garvey from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

She's got great stats across the board in everything but Command.

I'm going to do another level soon, but here's a basic way to cruise through most of the game levels:

1. Get a Gundam 00 Qan(T)

Development path: Phoenix Gundam - Exia Gundam (Basic) - Exia Gundam - 00 Gundam - 00 Raiser - 00 Gundam (Final Battle Spec) - 00 Qan(T)

2. Mass produce them and give all pilots one.

3. Make sure all pilots have decent or better Awaken stats.

4. Equip them all with the best EN and HP regenerating items you can buy.

Keep in mind this strategy generally works on "normal" difficulty, there is an unlockable difficulty that makes stages super hard (to the point GMs can do as much damage as the Big Zam), and for those, an army of 00 Qan(T) Gundams will just barely be enough to tread water.

Also, the game has two endings: The "regular" and "true" ending, and by the time the route for the true ending unlocks, you'll find you need better than this strategy to survive, as all levels on the True Ending path are super hard by default.

Stage A3: Those Who Call For War

This stage is gonna be a fun clusterfuck of Gundam SEED Destiny, Unicorn, and 00, with some OG Gundam and Gundam F91 for flavor.

We start around the first episode of Gundam SEED Destiny, when the Phantom Pain unit jacked ZAFT's new Gundams at Armory One and the Minerva is giving pursuit.

As Shinn is about to give chase to the hijackers they receive reinforcements from the decloaked Girty Lue, piloted by OMNI Captain Ian Lee and commanded by Neo Roanoke.

To cover the Phantom Pain unit, some Jet Dark Daggers are deployed to assist, and while Sting Oakley and Auel Nieder of the Phantom Pain unit are ready to haul ass, Stella Lousier of the same wants to double down and take down Shinn Asuka's Force Impulse Gundam and add it to their haul.

That's when you can deploy.

It doesn't matter which side you deploy on, but keep in mind this battle will involve enemies from both above and below appearing, so station the Minerva in the middle of the PLANT colony you're fighting above and have it support Shinn. Your own troops should split in two, with one half ready to deal with foes to the south, the other half to the north.

Stage3a.jpg

The first condition is very easy to fulfill, simply have Shinn make it down to the Chaos and Abyss Gundams hanging around the Girty Lue. However, you'll want to weaken them so Shinn can close in and kill one on his FIRST encounter with either to get the second condition.

That requires softening them up first, and the Girty Lue will be happy to try taking potshots while you do this.

The Girty Lue also has a reserve team of Jet Dark Daggers you can capture if you get in close and force it to deploy the second team, then destroy the Girty Lue.

As for the Gundams, prioritize them over the Girty Lue, none of them will flee before you get a chance to kill them.

It's worth noting Stella will gun for Shinn ASAP, so take her down first.

As you get phase one of this fight down, that's when the Minerva detects a unit moving three times as fast as it's incoming reinforcements, and that's when the Sinanju shows up, piloted by Full Frontal, who is all "I see ZAFT has deployed some new Gundams"

Stage3b.jpg

However, while he wouldn't mind dancing a round or two with them, he's looking for the Unicorn, as he's looking for Laplace's Box.

Banagher appears in the Unicorn as if to oblige him,and when Frontal asks him to politely cooperate, Bangher tells Frontal to get bent.

In response, some Geara Zulus led by Frontal's right hand man Angelo Sauper show up to reinforce their boss, and Angelo is happy to lead the charge on the Unicorn and kick it's ass before it can activate NT-D mode.

Thus begins phase two, and if you got the challenge condition, Kai Shiden shows up for some bizarre reason in his Guncannon and with two others as support below the Girty Lue, and he's spoiling for a fight and not too choosy who gets shot.

Stage3c.jpg

It needs to be mentioned the game has a unique mechanic concerning the Unicorn and Banshee Gundams, as to activate their respective NT-D (Newtype Destroyer) mode, they must be at Critical
Tension, meaning you're gonna have to soften up all these enemies the Unicorn is facing and let it get some kills if you want that challenge condition.

Also, the Unicorn/Banshee's unit graphic will change, and it gains a new attack in this mode.

Stage3d.jpg

The NT-D attack is incredibly strong and gets stronger based on the Awaken stat, but it has one catch: It has an MP cost, and if you consume too much MP or lose too much getting hit by the enemy the Unicorn/Banshee will revert back to normal and you will lose NT-D mode until you get enough kills/attacks to bump you back up to Critical Tension again.

After Banagher and Frontal cross blades, that's when the A-LAWs (Barack Zinin, Louise Halvey, and Andrei Smirnov) decide to crash this party, and while they note ZAFT's new tech, they have another target in mind, and it shows up:

Stage3e.jpg

It's Setsuna F. Seiei's hastily repaired Exia from Season 1 of Gundam 00, and even though it's outclassed by the Ahead and GN-X III's of the A-LAWs by at least two if not three generations of GN particle powered mech advancement, he's too pissed to give a shit, the world is even more fucked up than before, and they are the reasons why.

Stage3f.jpg

This condition is not too hard to fulfill, assuming you did well against Frontal's goon squad, and if Banagjer is still in NT-D mode, you can use that to shave a nice chunk off Barack Zinin's Ahead's HP, maybe have some of your guys chip in some help, then let Setsuna kill his ass.

However, once Over Impact starts, your allies will turn on you, so have troops ready to pop a cap in the Minerva ASAP.

If you got the prior challenge condition, Annamarie Bourget of the Gundam F91-era Crossbone Vanguard will show up above the A-LAW squad piloting a Daghi Iris and will be flanked by two capturable Ebirhu-S once you kill her.

Be warned if Frontal is still alive, he might try to kill Setsuna if he closer than Banagher, and the A-LAWs will not be shy dogpiling Setsuna either.

It's worth noting that if Andrei Smirnov of the A-LAWs and Banagher fight, Andrei will be all "we decide what is right around here", and Banagher, like Kamille Bidan did to Jerid Mesa of the Titans, tells Andrei to shove it up his ass.

Mass group attacks will easily overwhelm everyone save Banagher, who can nullify most beam attacks, so if you want to kill him, melee him to death.

Before I cover some more levels, I want to cover some of the Gundam Side Story materials they use, as while the major series get a lot of attention, the side story stuff probably needs some further coverage, as we'll be seeing a lot of it.

MS IGLOO: This is an OVA set during the One Year War of the original series, focusing on a Zeon weapons development team. It's also something of an experimental series, as it's animated completely in 3D CGI.

It has some good ideas and focuses on some weapons ideas that would have been interesting if deployed in the main series.

It has been criticized for white washing Zeon to the point of blowing glitter up their asses, and in response to this, three added episodes from the Federation's POV were made.

Model Suit Gunpla Builders Beginning G: A bit of a goofy and lighthearted Gundam meets toy models meets Pokemon spinoff.

Not too much of this shows up in this game, but some of the custom models they have are upgrades to certain units in this game.

Advance of Zeta: The Flag of Titans: A sidestory set one year before Zeta Gundam, it basically tells the story of how the various Titans units got their start, and while many of the ones in Zeta were an improvement on their prototypes, some of the prototypes were actually better than the mass produced stuff seen in the Zeta series, they just proved too costly to mass produce.

We don't see too much story from this, but we do get to have many of the units that showed up in this side story manga as pilotable.

New Mobile Report Gundam Wing Dual Story: G-UNIT: This is a Gundam Wing side story taking place away from the action of the main series, and it's an answer to the question "what if one of the colonies rolled over and played dead for OZ?"

Answer: Doesn't really help too much.

It gets its series name from the Geminass Gundams (the "Gemini" of the OZ naming pattern, OZ originally sponsored their construction) that the protagonists Odin and Odel Bernett test pilot.

Things go to hell when a rogue OZ faction known as the "OZ Prize" violate the peace agreement between the MO-V colony and OZ for their own reasons, and Odin and Odel get caught up their own wing of the conflict in the Gundam Wing canon.

This will get a lot of use in later levels.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray: This is a SEED sidestory that fills in a lot of blanks in the main SEED plot and also tells its own story, focusing on the protagonists Lowe Guele and Gai Murakamo.

As well as filling in a few holes in SEED's plot (like just who kept Kira's body from burning up in the slagged remains of his Strike Gundam prior to upgrading to the Freedom Gundam), it also tells the story of how the Junk Guild and Serpent Guild factions Lowe and Gai belong to wind up crossing swords with two rogue Orb VIPs who secretly collaborated (i.e. - used) with SEED antagonist Muruta Azreal to achieve domination of ORB in exchange for helping him with his ambitions, which was merely a cover for their own plan to turn the tables, let ZAFT and OMNI kill each other, and then they would lead ORB to pick up the pieces for themselves.

Later, they had to deal with a guy named Prayer Reverie who was basically a failed prototype for the Ultimate Coordinator project from the main series and who was quite butthurt over it.

Parts of the plot will show up in later levels, though we mostly get the characters and units to play with.

Gundam Sentinel: An interquel set between Zeta and Double Zeta Gundam, covering a faction of the Titans that refused to lay down their arms called the New Desides. On top of effectively finishing off the remnants of the Titans we get to see the protoypes of what would become the Double Zeta, and while parts of the plot show up in a minor way, we mostly get the units to play with.

Gundam F90: The Federation gets invaded by what is called the "Oldsmobile Army", as it has a bunch of units that look like One Year War leftovers, but it's really a front for a guy who wants to dust off Zeon's old reputation and take on the Federation, even though this is the late UC era and no one else really gives a shit.

We get some small use of the plot, but we mostly get the units to play with.

Crossbone Gundam: Basically fill the gap between Gundam F91 and Victory Gundam, and the main Crossbone story and it's spinoffs (though only Steel 7 gets substantial plot use alongside the main plot in this game) cover the character Kincaid Nau (Seabook Arno from F91) Berah Ronah (Cecily Fairchild from F91) and Tobia Arronaux as they fight to stop the Jupiter Empire (the predecessors to the Zanscare from Victory) from trying to wipe out Earth.

Hathaway's Flash: Takes place after Unicorn Gundam but before F91. Basically, Hathaway Noah from Char's Counterattack never forgave himself for letting Quess Paraya die then since he had a massive boner for her (to be fair, they were around the same age). That, combined with the fact the Federation let all the lessons learned from Unicorn go in one ear and out the other, drove him to become a terrorist called Mufty Nabiyu Erin, and the story ends sadly with his own father Bright unknowingly signing the order for his execution at the end.

We'll see aspects of this get some use as well get to use the units.

At 25% mech collection completion, the game awards you Marina Ismail from Gundam 00.

Her stats are in the toilet for everything save Command, but in that regard she's impressive, so she makes an excellent XO character.

Even better, she has access to the unique Songstress skill, which can be bought on the Character Training menu, and it can bolster the Charm of everyone if she is placed as a captain or group leader, and even by itself, it allows her to gain levels quickly and pad out her remaining slot with one of the few XO skills.

She also starts with the Affection skill, which provides a blanket MP recovery boost to everyone per turn, which is very useful if fielding tons of units dependent on Awaken stats.

Stage 4: The East Is Burning Red

Note: For leveling up low level units, this is good grinding stage, as you can easy fail the conditions to move past the first phase if you want and just spam this stage to level up units.

This stage is gonna be a fun potpourri of G Gundam, Gundam X, Turn A and some original and 00 Gundam just for the lolz.

We start this level in ruined remains of Shinjuku, Japan, where Rain Mikamura and Domon Kasshu are following the trail of the Devil Gundam.

Stage4a.jpg

Domon suddenly tells her to be quiet, and no, he's not being an asshole.

Rather, they are surrounded.

But before Domon can do anything, this Gundam shows up and pummels his ambushers to dust.

Stage4b.jpg

Domon realizes only one man's battle technique is like that:

Stage4c.jpg

Upon hearing his old pupil, Master Asia challenges Domon to remember the creed of his school:

Master Asia: Answer me, Domon!

Master Asia: The School of the Undefeated of the East!

Domon: The Winds of the King!

Master Asia: Zenshin!

Domon: Keiretsu!

Stage4d.jpg

Afterwards, Master Asia says they are on the trail of the same foe, but just as he curses the Devil Gundam and his zombified Death Army for shitting up Shinjuku, that's when a huge squad of the latter appears.

But this is Master Fucking Asia, and he's all "Let's kill these guys all at once!"

And so, in classic G Gundam WTF style, Master Asia turns his Kowloon Gundam into a gigantic fireball and has Domon fling him at the Death Army:

Stage4e.jpg

Before I go on, did I mention just how much I loved how hilariously crazy awesome this show was?

The Death Army goons go down in one shot, but more are incoming, and Domon and Master Asia are all

"BRING IT!"

And that's when we get to deploy to join them in kicking ass.

I recommend deploying on the left, it puts the player in a slightly better position to handle all the extra goons you can get via Challenge Missions.

Stage4f.jpg

I need to mention both conditions are hard to fail unless you deliberately set out to do so, and Death Army goons are pretty weak (though they come in large numbers to make up for this), so you can't fail to get the challenge condition so long as you set out to try.

You have eight DA goons on either side of the field, but the ones on the other side will quickly amble over to your side, so this isn't hard.

If you can, try to let Domon's tension build up to critical or ideally super critical for Phase 2.

Once this frankly nigh effortless phase ends, Master Asia is all for making the trash taking speed up, but that's when Garrod Ran from the first episodes of Gundam X flies on by, trying to dodge pursuers, and as Tiffa asks Garrod if he's alright, that's when some of the Vultures that were chasing them show up on either side of the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Domon gets told by Master Asia their is something unusual about the GX Gundam Garrod is piloting, and Garrod meanwhile is getting kinda panicky and assumes Domon and Master Asia are enemies as well, so he announces his Gundam has a nasty superweapon that could kill everyone present.

On cue, Jamil Neate and the Freeden show up, with Jamil asking if the Moon is out yet. Domon thinks Garrod's bullshitting, but that's when Tiffa notices something is wrong with Master Asia, something is "not good".

Stage4g.jpg

As Jamil is all "Tiffa, don't!", Master Asia commends her on noticing what everyone else didn't, as Domon is all "Huh?",Master Asia is all "Time to drop the act."

With that he disappears fromthe field in the Kowloon Gundam, and reappears at the top of the crashed skyscraper in the center of the field piloting the Master Gundam, and reveals he's in league with the Devil Gundam.

Domon's having a bit of an emo moment, but Tiffa snaps him out of it, prompting Master Asia to tell her to be a good girl and run along.

Stage4h.jpg

This is easy to do in theory either way, but in practice, Master Asia makes it tough to get to him and has good defense, so you'll want people to soften him, and if you can land an attack with it, the Satellite Cannon is PERFECT for crippling the shit out of Master Asia so Domon can Shining Finger him to death.

.....wow, those last couple of words sound so WRONG.

Anyway, unintentional sexual references aside, if you got the Challenge, OG Char in his red Zaku II appears behind the Freeden with two regular Zaku's, not really sure what's going on and not really caring, this is a good chance to take his custom machine out for a spin.

You've got three sets of enemies now:

1. Any remaining DA goons from Phase 1.

2. The Vultures, one with a group of Septems, one with a group of Daughteress/Weapons. They each have a second team on their Pyrenees backup carriers you can capture, and the Vultures aren't too much of a hassle so long as they don't gang up on yours and their carriers are easy kills.

3. Master Asia, and his backup Death Beasts, which are slightly less crap than rank and file Death Army, but not by too much.

Anyway, Phase 2 ends whenever Master Asia drops, ideally by Domon's Shining Finger attack, requiring Domon to get in close and personal.

If you want some extra Zaku II's, go ahead and pop Char, he's a fairly easy kill, and mostly try to build Domon up to Super Critical Tension if you can so once you chip Master Asia down to low health, Domon can easily finish him off.

The Freeden is generally gonna be dead weight aside from providing a little support fire, and you'll want to position it so you can easily kill it later if/when you get Over Impact.

You can get the GX Gundam this way, so plan accordingly.

BTW, be warned, Master Asia has high accuracy and can hit like a sack of bricks.

Once you manage to hose Master Asia, he runs off, telling Domon he is no longer his disciple, but before he can dwell on that, the Diana Counter shows up, wondering WTF is going on, headed by Poe Aijee.

After she fires a shot from her WaDom to snuff out any possible ambush troops, she instead flushes out Loran Cehack, who is all 'can't we just settle down?" and Poe is all 'fuck that, you're in a MS, let's do this shit!"

Stage4i.jpg

This condition is actually slightly hard to honor if you play cautiously, but if you're willing to take a few risks, it's easy, because all you have to do is bum rush Poe's WaDom and let Loran get the kill.

It hits HARD (with poor accuracy) and can take a beating though, but you can have Garrod Sattelite Cannon it to soften it up if need be.

The Walking Dumpling reinforcements with the WaDom are really pathetic and not much of a threat, though.

If you got the Challenge Mission done, Graham Aker will show up in his custom Flag with some Union Realdo supports, checking out the new Gundams, and capping his Flag is not all that hard.

Anyway, once you get OI, kill the Freeden FIRST. Once you've take it out, long range dogpile Domon, then make Loran your bitch.

In fact, this map is actually fairly easy overall, and while it can net you a nice haul of capturable units, the next level is when the game starts turning up the difficulty, so enjoy this while it lasts.

PROTIP: Want early max use of the GX? Core dump a bunch of Shooting Up parts on it, give it to a good sniper, and watch goons die by the assload via Sattelite Cannon strikes.

Eats energy like crazy though, so you'll need to dock to reload it once in awhile.

A bit of a technical post, also an explanation of a bit of gameplay related sleight of hand.

Some mass produced units have a (Commander) version, meaning it will be more powerful and have a different look, color, or both.

This is also a bit of sleight of hand used to pad out the game unit roster, as the Commander types are considered a unique unit, even if they remain visually identical, as the Commander versions will always have higher stats in some regard.

This also encourages the player, should they wish to pad out their list of registered units, to buy or somehow acquire a grunt unit, then assign it a team leader.

For instance, a Zaku II given to a Team leader will automatically become a Commander type version until removed or given to a non team leader character.

One caveat: Some characters like One Year War era Char are partially exempt from this rule, as they instead will turn the unit into a custom version made specifically for them alone if you hand them a mass produced regular model.

Stage 5A - Space Pirates

Note: Have a master unit with the Movement Up Spell, makes part of this easier in Phase 2. Not required, but it helps.

Note 2: Phase 2 of this battle provides an easy way to grind levels and money since it has lots of enemies and you can deliberately fail the phase conditions if you please to do this.

This level is going to be a mix of Crossbone Gundam, a dash of IGLOO, 00 Gundam, and Gundam AGE, with the first series getting a lot of later use in the game, and I'm going to explain a little before we start the level.

Crossbone Gundam is an attempt to flesh out Gundam F91, which originally was a series condensed into a movie, and Tomino wanted to tell a better story the second time round, hence the Crossbone Gundam manga

Crossbone follows up from the events of Gundam F91, with Seabook Arno and Cecily Fairchild reprising their roles (under aliases for story reasons), and introducing Tobia Arronaux, a Gundam protagonist who is something of a UC Gundam Chuck Norris joke.

Then again, it's kinda justified, given he was put in a battle arena on foot against a mech, and HE WON.

Since this was never animated, when it finally got music, it got a spiffy upbeat rock remix of Gundam F91's main theme.

Also, as the name implies, there is a serious pirate motif, as the mecha have skull and crossbones markings and the good guys are called the Crossbone Vanguard (a good version of the one that debuted in Gundam F91), but in practice they do less piracy and more serving as Earth's defense against the Jupiter Empire, predecessors to the Zanscare from Victory.

Anyway, let's begin:

Stage5a.jpg

We start as a ship piloted by a Zeon crew (long after said colonists ceased to pose a major political force in UC politics) is about to visit the Jupiter colonies so some kids from there can go study there, but they just got attacked by pirates.

Stage5b.jpg

This is Karas, the schoolteacher in charge of the kids, but c'mon, a guy who looks like that just screams "evil asshole with nasty intentions".

Anyway, as he tells the pilot to deploy the mobile suits about to defend the cargo (i.e- the students, just to show you how callous this asshole is), Tobia Arronaux asks a good question:

Stage5c.jpg

Karas tells him to sit down and shut up, and that's when the Batara deployed to defend the ship are blown up.

The pirates are piloting Zondo Gei, which is like using Zaku IIs to take on Geara Zulus, but Tobia realizes they are just a diversion, and he's right, as a Gundam appears with them.

All the Zeon pilots are down, so Tobia offers to go out and draw their fire, he's got a pilot license.

As he does, you can deploy, but before we do, strategy time.

This map has objectives that can only be met by careful battlefield movement, which will shift twice, and preparation is key. I'd deploy above the Sumah Zeon ship and have your carrier ready to move forward and reverse on a moment's notice.

For phase one, stick as close to the left side of the screen as possible, Phase 2 gets a bit easier at first if you.

Anyway, let's start Phase One, but before I show the conditions, behold this:

Stage5d.jpg

Yes, that IS a giant mobile armor in the shape of a Haro.

Amusing as it looks, it's amazingly powerful:

Stage5e.jpg

It levels like molasses, but it hits like a sack of bricks, is built like a fortress, and if you get it level 10, you can turn it into the PSYCO Haro, which is an evil black recolor with even MORE power.

Anyway, your battle conditions for Phase One:

Stage5f.jpg

Both are very easy to do, but to get the second, just have Tobia hang back until all the Zondo Geis are down, then have him fight Kincaid Nau (aka Seabook Arno) in the Crossbone X-1 for Phase 2 and the bonus condition fulfilled.

The Zondo Gei are not that hard, but keep towards the left of the screen to make Phase 2 easier. You have no time limit this phase either, so slow and steady things.

Anyway, once you beat Phase 1, Karas is butthurt he might lose all he worked for, and when Tobia is confused, Karas admits he's secretly an agent of the Jupiter Empire and it's ruler, Crux Dogatie, and his class was intended to provide child soldiers for the Jupiter Empire, and he then blows the ship up to prevent his capture while Tobia's own mech sustains so much damage he has to accept Kincaid pulling him out so he won't die as well, and Tobia is understandably very confused and shocked as to what is going on as Berah Ronah (Cecily Fairchild) shows up piloting the Crossbone Vanguard's flagship, the Mother Vanguard.

That's when some Jupiter Empire carriers and more Bataras show up, but before they can be a proper threat, this happens:

Stage5g.jpg

That's right, the ELS are crashing this party, and the Jupiter Empire troops have become their own now.

But that's when Descartes Shaman from the 00 Movie shows up, and he's kinda pissed and wants to use the ELS as his targets:

Stage5h.jpg

The ELS rise to the challenge, and so doe s he;

Stage5i.jpg

Phase 2 conditions:

Stage5j.jpg

The first is not too hard, his Gadeleza mobile armor has many multi hit attacks and long range, and there are more than enough ELS for him to kill.

The challenge is the hard part as he starts far to the right of the arena and the Mother Vanguard is in front of the straightest path to shooting ELS, so here's what you need to do.

1. Have the Mother Vanguard, your carrier, and Kincaid fall back, cripple ELS but leave enough for Shaman to kill, and try not to get ganged up on.

2. Have Shaman move forward to kill as many ELS a turn as possible. Using Movement Up on him will save a turn doing this.

3. Kill ten small ELS before five turns is up for challenge condition.

The ELS are not much harder than in previous levels, but there are a LOT of them, so death of a thousand cuts is a valid issue here.

If you got the challenge, Monique Cadillac from MS IGLOO shows up piloting a Zudah (Commander Type) with two regular Zudah sidekicks, and she's in awe over how it kicks ass over a regular Zaku:

Stage5k.jpg

To be fair, she's not wrong. The Zudah was equal to the Zaku II in most regimes, except it had better weapons and was MUCH faster.

Unfortunately, this came at the cost of tissue paper armor, so while they hit hard, they die fast.

Regardless, she decides the fracas she wandered into is a great test of its capabilities and thus takes you on.

Killing her nets you two Zudah to play with.

Anyway, you should be able to send her back to her buddies with a "we need to work on this some more" memo with little trouble so long as the ELS don't gang up on you in the process.

In fact, one direct shot from the Haro Drill Punch should be a one hit kill.

Anyway, with that out of the way, do what I said above to concerning the ELS, and make sure to move your guys as far back as where the Gadeleza started for Phase III while leaving the bulk of the ELS for Shaman to kill.

Once you beat Phase 2, Flit Asuno in the Gundam AGE-1 and Woolf Ennacle in G-Exes are having a sparring match, and Woolf seems to have the upper hand and wants Flit's mobile suit since he sucks using it.

Flit gives him a grazing hit and F-You in response, but just as they are going for Round 2, that's when they pick up enemy forces:

UE mobile suits, to be exact, and their flagship, the Fa Bose.

Stage5l.jpg

Their sparring match postponed, Woolf convinces Flit to head back to their mothership, the Diva, especially since the Gundam doesn't have the gear needed to take it on, and he stays behind to buy time and live up to his suitable nickname:

Stage5m.jpg

If you want Over Impact, kill the Fa Bose in 6 turns.

If you got the challenge, Soma Peries circa Gundam 00 S1 shows up in her pink Tieran Taozi, flanked by two space type Tierans, and she's got orders to shoot shit and to ask questions later.

Since she's all the way to the south, you got lots of time to take her out and take the Tierans for yourself. Meanwhile, if you followed my advice, you should be close enough to shoot down the Fa Bose with sustained fire in under two turns, and not only is it a damage sponge, consider it training for the next level, where we fight it again.

The Fa Bose has a reserve squad of Gafran it can release which you can capture on it's defeat as well.

Anyway, keep in mind the Fa Bose hits hard from long range but has crappy aim and take out the Gafran escorts as need be while not forgetting the ELS behind you and you can OI this easily enough.

Once you've hit Over Impact, kill the Mother Vanguard if you want to capture the Crossbone X-1, then shoot down the Gadeleza, preferably with sustained support fire. Woolf's G-Exes is a joke by comparison, so save him for last.

Once you've killed everything in this stage, we've got one last stage coming up before the final A Rank stage.

Also, just wanted to add for @NIGGO KILLA , your pilot is one of my ranking kill leaders at 80+ kills, and @Kiwi Jeff , you'll be pleased to know your three pilots have each racked up 50+ kills at this point.

Also, as the name implies, there is s serious pirate motif, as the mecha have skull and crossbones markings and the good guys are called the Crossbone Vanguard (a good version of the one that debuted in Gundam F91), but in practice they do less piracy and more serving as Earth's defense against the Jupiter Empire, predecessors to the Zanscare from Victory.

Anyway, let's begin:

We start as a ship piloted by a Zeon crew (long after said colonists ceased to pose a major political force in UC politics) is about to visit the Jupiter colonies so some kids from there can go study there, but they just got attacked by pirates.

View attachment 430054
This is Karas, the schoolteacher in charge of the kids, but c'mon, a guy who looks like that just screams "evil asshole with nasty intentions".

Anyway, as he tells the pilot to deploy the mobile suits about to defend the cargo (i.e- the students, just to show you how callous this asshole is), Tobia Arronaux asks a good question:

View attachment 430055

Yes, that IS a giant mobile armor in the shape of a Haro.

Amusing as it looks, it's amazingly powerful:

View attachment 430059
It levels like molasses, but it hits like a sack of bricks, is built like a fortress, and if you get it level 10, you can turn it into the PSYCO Haro, which is an evil black recolor with even MORE power.

Anyway, your battle conditions for Phase One:

I hope im piloting a manly mobile suit

Small update, well, two of them:

At 30% mech catalog completion, you are awarded Degwin Sodo Zabi, Gihren Zabi's dad from the original Gundam.

Honestly, he's not all that great at anything much, though, as a bit of dark humor, he has very high Shooting skill.

If you know how he died in the original show, this is hilarious.

Also @Power Armor has informed he's sperging along with me in this game, and while I plan to finish this LS regardless, he said he plans to beat this game first, and if he does, I salute his skill. If not, no hard feelings, just glad I'm not alone in this.
