I return my carts. I've never once found myself caring if other people do or don't. He may want to find something else to direct his impotent rage towards.

This is my "cart mantra" too. I always do so myself cause I just like putting shit back where it belongs. Takes 10 seconds even if I'm not right next to a cart corral, even though I do try to park next to them to make things easier.

I think people that don't put their carts back are , by and large, lazy and are just making more work for the rest of the employees at the store, but I'm not gonna get autistic and bother people about it either. If the cart is next to my vehicle I'll just put it back myself cause that also takes 10 seconds and it's not a big deal to do it myself.

This guy is hilarious in that he gets people to freak out easily, but he's definitely gonna get his ass kicked or worse if he keeps it up. Should make for some good content.

I always make an extra effort to return carts but this just isn't an accurate statement. A lot of places with carts don't even have shopping cart stalls in the parking lot. It's frustrating, especially in bad weather, and the message it sends to me is they'd rather pay someone to collect the carts than do their paying customers the basic courtesy of placing some cart returns. Shitty customer experience like that isn't helping retail win against online shopping.

As for this guy, I can't say I support coming at women who are by themselves in a parking lot. Even Frank Hassle doesn't do that. I've known people who experienced attempted carjackings in parking lots, not a very cool thing to do just for the sake of returning carts.

On the other hand, another mark of civilization is proportional response (having impulse control and not chimping out over minor slights that don't merit it). I normally always return my shopping cart to make life a little easier for the wagies and keep the parking lot uncluttered. Sometimes I’ll give my cart to someone on their way into the store.

But this thread has brought up some interesting points.

Now I’m thinking about going beyond leaving my cart in a random location. Perhaps the real move is to simply walk off with the shopping cart.

-this does not clutter the parking lot
-this does not make life harder for the wagies because there is no cart to clean up.

Perhaps I should start a vlog where I steal carts. I could show the interesting places that I leave them, like the bus stop for homeless people to use, the thicket of woods behind the strip mall, the median of the road, a busy railroad track, or the local reservoir as a habitat for fish.
