I understand that the majority of the pro-return posters here are low wage low IQ workers. For them it might make sense to return their own carts, clean public restrooms, tidy and stock the shelves themselves. However for the rest of us this is simply a misallocation of skilled labor. Every second we spend doing menial labor to support a grocery chains profits is time we are not performing high value contributions to society or even worse it is eating into our work life balance. This is hardly only an American issue, wherever there are shopping carts in the world then this must happen.

Eurofag here. I have never seen people abandon their cart in the middle of the parking lot after use. Never.
During rush hour at malls people line up outside the corral to bring their carts back. People always do it spontaneously, despite there being no mall staff/mall cop in the parking lot.
Putting the cart back in its place is just a matter of civility and respect for other users and employees.

Now, it's true that the dude is cringe and seems to be a huge attention-whore.
But that doesn't take away from the fact that the people he films are disrespectful to other parking lot users.
