I think you should make an algorithm that scans A&H posts and detects when a slapfight is happening (through replies or aggressive language) and issues a warning to both, then a week ban if they continue. If they get into another fight after the week ban then it's a perma with the message:

"L50LASPAK VINDICATED YET AGAIN, BITCH.

WELCOME TO BAN TOWN."

It would be like Twitter, but funny.

Second, unban Kengle & give him total control of A&N & Happenings. But just limit Kengle to those two boards. Don't allow him to post anywhere else.

Part of the issue is trying to have a unified standard for the whole thunderdome.

I can't speak for Deep Thoughts, but I know that Happenings and Articles play out rather differently as far as posting goes despite crossover. So applying one standard to the whole section outside of basic shit like "don't fedpost you absolute retard" and "don't post multiple times in a row" will probably be a losing battle.

Articles is fun because it's like a late 2000s comment section for news articles, retarded slapfights and all, with the occasional full open shitspigot on display. Maybe I'm warped but I actually enjoy that spectacle quite a lot, and the method of moving the disruptive slapfights to the pastadome seems to be effective at least whenever I've browsed there. Outside of keeping conversation from being disruptive and getting rid of fedposting (which I'm pretty sure are the primary focuses of mods already), I'm not sure what is supposed to "fix" Articles, I don't think it's broken. Well, I suppose more aggressive timeouts for terrible article paste formatting could be an improvement, I understand the pain with that aspect of the forum, but outside of that? Eh. Regarding "community", it's almost impossible for a board that is entirely article discussion to have any ingrained sense of community since threads don't really last for more than 4 days so I dunno if that's even a reasonable goal to shoot for.

By contrast Happenings can turn on the shitspigot sometimes but all the threads I've seen there have at worst been a bit high-strung, and the shitspigot usually gets moved or turned off quick if it's splattering too much, for example extended jew related derails in the Floyd thread getting moved, which as far as I could tell resulted in zero complaining. Happenings tends to be far more on topic and dedicated to their threads so I don't understand complaints about that forum either except that it is a clearinghouse for mass shootings which obviously can attract government attention, but that's really not anything to do with the posters unless they start fedposting, which is already a ban. Again, much like with Articles, I'm not sure what's broken about it, as a bonus I've always felt a sense of in-thread community within Happenings since the threads last much longer, and the moderation seems to be on point from what I've seen.

So I still am not quite sure what the problem is? Fedposting already should cop a ban, and if someone is blowing up PMs or TTS with gay fucking complaints about a slapfight they got into within the thunderdome just ban them or hand out a lengthy timeout from the thunderdome, even if they had a complaint buried in the spam that will result in a moderation action against the other participant in the slapfight. It's a slapfight, if they can't handle a slapfight without complaining endlessly to mods they really shouldn't be posting there.

Maybe just give the thunderdome the beauty parlor treatment from way back when that got mentioned in the Amberlynn MATI stream if this problem becomes too much?
If it worked for bitchy women I see no reason it wouldn't work for bitchy men.

Perhaps that's too nuclear but I like the natural selection aspect of it.


tl;dr I'm probably a bad candidate for any of this since I seem to see things rather opposite to what Null is looking for at least based on the OP.

Oh blah. Null has made his position clear about A&N through action, not words. Thing is A&N can be alogged so bad the alphabetboiz show up. Alogging is really annoying on any thread. I like to piss on Jack Scalfani as much as the next fag, but people there take it three times to the next level and it is just like half the time I read it as - Dude Calm The Fuck Down It Is Not That Serious.

Regardless, just remember the rules of fedposting - making no specific threat. No naming place, date, and targets. You aren't owning chuds when the FBI literally show up at YOUR house.

Right now the Thunderdome is pretty much the last place on the internet you can have an opinion that goes against the mainstream and not get banned or surrounded by actual extremists and federales. It will be a sad thing to lose it because people have to slapfight like a bunch of fucking retards... My proposal is to make HHH the mod, as that's by far the most entertaining option.

Similar occurred on this thread and the original Halliday thread. Mumsnet, a parent focussed site in the UK shit themselves on one of their forums and started to ban The Terven resulting in a load of middle aged mothers and feminists joining the farms so they could benefit from the 1st and shitpost about trannies. Most of these either lurk or stick to the Halliday forum.

It results in people not investigating the rest of the site, but on the positive side KF does get a lot more publicity. I’ve seen the Halliday thread posted on Twitter, FB, Mumsnet and others with respondents asking about KF and investigating the site.
Some will just lurk, but occasionally some people decide to join in the community in the spirit of the original ethos.

Perhaps treat the AT and A&H as a “teaser” or “loss leader” and encourage those who post there to explore the glories of the site as a whole.
