Eh, I agree for the most part, but you do see some nuisance posting from time to time like two tards getting into a massive slap fight that's not even on topic for the thread, or people bumping practically ancient threads for no reason. A lot of stuff like @Coach Kreeton Of All That's doxes, or other just additional information posts end up getting lost in the sauce because of this.

This is like the 4th of 5th time we've had this topic pop up since I've joined the site, and I've still yet to see a clear description of the problem or examples of problem users. The most I've been able to gather is that the issues are fed-posting and people whining to the mods over petite bs, but if that's all the issue why don't we just ban those faggots? What more needs to be done?
@Null If there's going to be a good solution there needs a clear cut definition of the problem and what you want the political section of the site to be like. No one can give you decent advice if we don't know specifically what needs to be fixed.
Seriously, what does this even mean? Aside from fedposting, what issues are you incurring? How does slapfighting or low quality threads affect anything if the sperging is self contained to the thunderdome? I'm an A&N regular and I'm not sure if I'm even one the problem users because I have no idea who any of the problem users are. Does me posting "lmfao fucking niggers" 20x a day cause you problems? I don't mean to and I'd stop if you said it caused problems, but I just have no clue.

I am on A&H quite a bit and never really see much fed posting, like, at all. Is the problem that we have a bunch of old-ass boomers posting shitty images? Because, like, it kinda sounds like BP except instead of crusty ass fat women, it's crusty ass fat old dudes. I don't see that as a problem, tbh

But why though? I get not wanting to be over draconian with the bans, but if someone is slapfighting and pinging the mods enough for it to be a genuine problem that threatens the site, what better justification is needed to perma their ass? If someone is that much of a colossal faggot the site's better of without them anyway.

He is no doubt smart enough to pull some machiavellian shit like that and I would be lying if I said I hadn't considered it... actually kinda surprised it took 35 pages for someone to say it out loud. Also possible he just wants to see where shit goes and what kind of nominations happen to learn who the players/personalities are on the board... or maybe a lil col A and lil col B. Heck maybe he just needs to keep up the illusion that he is "doing something about A&H" to keep the cow board purists out of revolt.
Janitorial work is thankless and terrible though and Null can't trust anyone to do anything. I administered a small gaming forum/club once (I was the tech guy who did all the suffering). One time one of the other founders came up to me and said "I need to read this guys PMs cause he's harassing some other guy and they are a minor." and I had to do a double take... I didn't have a tool to do that, I would have to go through the DB and view this person's private conversations, I didn't want to do that, that's awkward, I certainly didn't trust people with this power. I had no context and didn't know either of the parties. Next thing you know I had wasted several hours in ethical/policy conversations and still more hours building the damn tool and updating the TOS so that I could separate myself from moderation tasks. I was glad when the whole damn thing imploded despite all my work being flushed down the toilet. I grew to dislike the people I was partnered with, found them to be unethical, lazy, sleazy, demanding and grifting. I quietly split ways and I don't play with them anymore. Moderation is not fun, it's business and nasty business at that. Anyone who really wants the gig is either a prestige chaser or someone who will actively misuse it for their personal gain/entertainment.
You can see the themes of Lord of The Rings playing out, Frodo is the good Janny who knows only suffering and temptation, Galadriel knows to never pick up the broom at all, Golem is weak and easy tainted by the brooms power, countless tyrants in waiting wish to don coveralls and covet it. Letter of the law vs. spirit of the law gets invoked too, it's like government and society in a microcosm.
That's why I will constantly advocate to keep the broom short and the floors somewhat dry lest the whole place go to slippery shit (like when you use plain water in Space Station 13). Just like I would advocate to keep the federal government small and it's powers and budget limited.
That being said A&H is what keeps me sane on my long, dry meetings, I don't want to see it sunsetted. It's the closest thing to web 1.0 around these days that isn't a damn ghosttown with 12 boomers circle jerking stale memes (I love them but it's not enough). I don't even really want to see it change and I will do what I can to keep it running. Get that shipping contract Null, A&H posters buy merch too buddy.

I didn't want to make it explicitly political, because I am a cowardly fence sitter unless I'm in a safe space surrounded by people who agree with me, but yes, that is a big part of the issue. People get mad at A&N for being too political, and then they go back to their on-topic boards and talk about how troons are mostly bad because they let the mean smelly boys into strong independent womyn spaces. It's not enough to be against mutilating and sexualizing children. It has to be about them and how they're the real victims in all of this. Every section of every forum on the internet is like this now. And I'm not going to pretend the right doesn't do this too. Read the thread on Jimquisition for some examples of how a fat piece of shit being brainwashed into making a chemical abomination of himself is bad not prima facie, but because he used to be b-b-b-based and now he's not.
To be honest, people trying to make everything about their exceedingly retarded pet issues is nothing new. I know, I thought it was weird too.
It's odd. I don't know why Josh thinks these guys are leeches when they prob run on the site 24/7 posting about Jewish bankers building a death star or whatever and giving him nonstop BAT on Brave. If anything, you would think the A&H grandpas would be the cash cow.
But the community itself and terrible/angry posting? Maybe I'm blind as shit, but it doesn't seem that bad.
