Assuming Chris flew out of Richmond, he could have gotten a round trip flight for around $700:

Not exactly free, but cheap enough that he easily could have scrounged together enough cash from streams and medallion sales over the course of a few months for a ticket. Also possible that Flutter/Caden helped pay for this.
